Moon in Sagittarius

A mental giant who could accomplish much for the world
Plays with a child’s doll instead. People laugh, and then
Don’t when terrorized by a serpent with many heads.
Could not the giant have eliminated this pest?

The would-be inventor has a room of machinery and chemicals,
Perceiving hidden connections through rapt experimentation.
His neighbor reads and writes poetry by day, and by night
Watches for falling stars. Uncertainty’s his chosen romance.

The road has several branches, toward machines, stars, a doll
Or a serpent. By contrast a jewelry shop seems quite prosaic,
No matter the price of its gems. But it preserves practical
Values and enables kaleidoscopic artistry-display.

Whether science and invention, or poetry and dream,
Activity toward something missing guarantees stature.
