Weekend, of August 27-28, and more
Weekend and Coming Fortnight (Lawyers and Sad Young Men)
Saturday 27 August: Moon in Virgo
|Karmically serious, sobering, challenging third| of this week ends at 8:46a PT | 11:46a ET | 3:46p PT
Sunday 28 August: Moon in Virgo
/moon goes void-of-course at 8:09p PT | 11:09p ET | 3:09a(M) UT
How did yesterday (Friday) go for you during the daylight hours? I am writing during them, while the moon is still void-of-course and opposite Saturn (which defines this |difficult third of the week|). Well, not everything is unraveling, but it has been a slow and confusing time for me, as it has been for the stock market, which went down 3.37% today, the biggest drop since June 13. I mentioned hard money conditions and “penny-pinching” in the fortnightly forecast posted yesterday. Further, during this void-of-course plus |karmically difficult| period, the Injustice Department released an eagerly(?) awaited 38-page “redacted affidavit” accusing President Trump of withholding documents. Notice the “REdacted” during this Dark or Slow Hermetic Epoch described at length in the previous weekend report as a RE time. And with the moon void-of-course, what does this famous document reveal? According to various experts I have been listening to, precisely NOTHING. If the FBI really thinks it has a credible case against Trump, it is going to have to hire at least as many lawyers as Trump himself. Have we turned into a litigious nation where the only beneficiaries of our constant political bickering are lawyers?
So it seems as I write during this DHE, void-of-course and |difficult| day. Even the lawyers must be throwing up their hands and wondering “How can I honestly expect pay for shuffling papers amid this chaotic nonsense?”
Here is an edited and improved version of what I posted two days ago about the current just-beginning Fortnight, August 25 through September 7:
A new Fortnight begins Thursday, technically at 2:53p PT | 5:53p ET | 9:53p UT, lasting through September 7. This is based on a rather esoteric method connected with the moon’s nodes, which I shall not explain at this moment (if you write and ask I will explain it to you).
What happened in the previous fortnight, August 11-24? It coincided with the beginning of a Dark or Slow Hermetic Epoch when people are likely to “leave their posts” and we had Liz Cheney losing her primary election, Brian Stelter leaving CNN, and Anthony Fauci announcing his departure beginning in December. The people I listen to on the right and the center are not displeased by any of these departures. There was also a lot of fallout over the “raid” on Mar-a-Lago. There was the horrid and tragic assassination of the daughter of a key Russian player and adviser to Putin, which of course could not possibly have any good result. And much more. One of the symbols in the chart for the fortnight was “a bomb exploding in mid-air,” described as “very pernicious” (Charubel). You can find your own examples. For most of us in our personal lives it was probably mostly minor disturbances. There was also “a man beating an ass with a stick” and “a powerful man holding a scourge in his right hand and driving two slaves in manacles,” described by Sepharial as a degree of Despotism, of which we have too much around the world. There has been, on both the Left and Right, talk of a “civil war” in the U. S. while, in that fortnightly chart, the moon, Uranus and Mars were all together squaring Saturn on one side and the sun on the other.
However, since Time insists on being a riddle of contradictions, there was also a lot of pleasure in the concluding fortnight, with Venus and Jupiter in an exact trine and Mars still slightly sextile Venus. We had a lot of good times. This was true for me and probably for you. “A fine chateau, with gardens and terraces. In the foreground a peacock in full feather struts leisurely.” This (from Borelli-Sepharial) is reminiscent of much of my experience of the preceding two weeks.
As for the coming two weeks, Thursday August 25 (beginning in late afternoon) through Wednesday September 7, the major dark trend is Venus no longer trine Jupiter but rather opposite Saturn, the “nobody loves me” aspect. It is also difficult for money, usually, and we hear that credit-card debt is at a peak and that prices of needed items are soaring. That is really “more of the same” but could be felt more stringently as a need to save and curb spending. However, some of the symbols for this beginning fortnight are quite promising, such as “A large office, and a man sitting at a desk, writing in a large book resembling a ledger.” “Good practical abilities, adapted for commercial pursuits.” (Charubel) Many are saying that the “forgiveness” of student debts by Biden is illegal, without sanction from Congress, and also that it is unjust, forcing blue-collar workers to pay off the debts of those earning up to 125,000 a year. The “excellent accountant,” yourself, can work with whatever conditions surround you. Also we have “A rock, and men getting large granite stones out of this rock” suggesting “success with the most ordinary things of this world; yes, even becoming wealthy by means which other people would consider beneath their notice.” So there is hope despite the penny-pinching.
As for the “nobody loves me” Venus-opposite-Saturn, it has its good side. It is often a “test of loyalty.” One might feel disappointed with, or bored with, people who have been friends or associates. Some of their attitudes and reactions bring up the thought “What, that again?” How much does true love has to suffer in order to be true love? Asking oneself that question could illumine much of what is going on.
There are pleasing symbols. “A red flame, ascending upward to a great height.” “One with ardent desires; an enthusiast for the cause he espouses; a true friend and an open enemy.” “An old-fashioned signboard suspended from the branch of a tree before an ancient looking wayside inn” suggests visiting places one has enjoyed in the past, such as restaurants or bars. “A large forest of oaks; no underwood; a spacious vista affording plenty if scope for wandering.” We could benefit by “getting out and about” even if our mood is sour at first.
Contrary to that, sometimes we could feel like “a man in monkish dress, with long hair and flowing beard,” inclined to reservation and solitude. Then again, there could be “the rude framework of some temporary building or shanty” suggesting exploration and discovery, a temporary “home away from home.” The Labor Day weekend is included in this fortnight.
It could be interesting.
Back to Venus-opposite-Saturn: It is not just the “nobody loves me” aspect in a superficial way but in a very poignant way. You might feel that all the people you have abandoned, and all those who have abandoned you, are with you in some spiritistic realm, moaning with you about broken relationships and absent friendships. Do we really know how to love? This aspect can deepen our souls’ responses, even if through absence and poignance. We may not thank Saturn for his lesson, yet he teaches.
Here’s one of my favorite songs in a touching version by Ian Shaw and Sue Richardson.
