Moon in Aries

A buffalo snorts and paws the ground, determined to be independent
And free. “No law for me.” A woman sits in grief, clothes
Disordered, hair unkempt, with faded lilies and roses.
Weak-willed she suffers injury, disgrace.

Arms folded and head erect, one stands in a lofty place,
An able friend and tough enemy, his pride presumptuous.
Near him an obelisk celebrates the life of one subject to
Hard reverses and trials. Ultimately he is remembered.

A woman sprinkling flowers pours herself into
Living potentials. Generosity of spirit cares for
The welfare of the world. A beautiful country scene’s
Elements conspire to awaken silent adoration.

Flowers grow slowly; a whole career constructs an obelisk;
Love spoiled is deeper love fatefully awakened.
