Bad, or toss its goodies to a neighbor, sweet,
Facilitating life. Then she retreats. A hedgehog
Shuns the public gaze, harmless and defensive.

Contending with too much, his tenacity guides him to
Avoid side paths suggested by enemies
And hold to the one true way, gentle but strong,
Which makes them rue the day they opposed him.

A great genius in the West is emblemed by a huge star
Brighter than the moon, unacknowledged by the darkness.
A great leader in the East has founded a school of thought,
A Yoga, influencing profoundly the world like a water-wheel
\\\\\\
Because his teachings have no end but recur afresh
Like those of the Western genius. We need both.
