~Choosing the Reliable and Pushing Ahead~

I have been crusading, alone, for 20 years, to get people to see that the |karmic or difficult third| of each week (moon in hard aspect with Saturn by 15 degrees) has more inclement weather, storms, snow, rain, clouds, but not one person or astrologer has acknowledged that I am right about it. This period was from Saturday the 28th at 1:27 a.m. PT | 4:27 a.m. ET until Monday the 30th at 1:06a.m. PT | 4:06 a.m. ET. Also in the news was a suicide at the Grand Canyon. Yes, there are probably suicides every day but this one gained attention, and the moon was not only in the |difficult third| zone but in the Via Combusta on Sunday. I felt it as a depressing day. The Via Combusta is said to be experienced as "a loss of morale" and that is exactly what it was for me. I was trying to choose between two events to go to in the afternoon, and couldn't decide, so went to neither, and then by evening felt I had been seriously wrong not to go to one of them, as if I had failed certain people and myself. I made a mistake and it felt like a serious breach of conscience. I indulged myself and gave myself excuses. Albeit the forecast for the day had warned against that very thing.

And so I see these daily forecast-meditations as attempts by the human race, including me, to rise beyond our temporal confusion, our bondage to the mechanical aspects of the time-space continuum. "Bad" or difficult periods are there not just to test us but to help us "improve our game" by learning how to deal with them. All I can claim for these forecasts is that I am trying to be honest about how we might be able to do that, by giving the clues I am able to give. I find it helpful and hope you do too.

Tuesday:  We are gifted with powers of criticism and analysis. What others do not see as dangerous we may divine as so, and give warning. Plus, on the other side, it would be well to heed someone who warns you in this way. All are "trouble-shooting." Yet at the same time we are hopeful and somewhat poetic, like "a bird welcoming the day-dawn with its song." 

Impulses toward wandering, or moving, or seeking a frontier, could be like "sowing in the wind," leading nowhere and wasting time. 

Carelessly dreaming of the past and future, while shirking present duties, is a temptation. There could also be a Don Quixote impulse toward being a gladiator, picking quarrels for the sheer joy of it. But self-command, or fighting wrong and irascible tendencies in oneself, rather than in someone else, could save the day. 

Mars is now the Planet of Oriental Appearance, or the one rising just before the sun rises each day, and this is a "pushing ahead" syndrome. We want to exceed ourselves and others, to win whatever race we are running. How? Through knowledge, science, and fortitude. "A man gaining secret knowledge from a paper he is reading" is not learning something utterly new, but rehashing and rehearsing old discovered knowledge in the framework of the needs of his current situation. This makes it completely new. So while there is a sense of "crowding ahead" in a way somewhat uncomfortable, because it challenges one to catch on to things one didn't know before, this also can be rewarding. We can add to this a caring for others, a solicitude for their well-being as well as our own. Having faith in the friendliness of the universe and of human beings (despite the warning in the first paragraph after "Tuesday:" above) fosters a creative concern for all and this is ultimately fulfilling.

The day has high potentials but one needs to be alert and spiritually awake to manifest them. What do you do, as a daily or weekly sort of ritual, which helps the world as well as yourself? For some it could be prayer work, "light work," or whatever one chooses to call that sort of consciousness-magic. For others it would be more tangible service which (a) keeps oneself in shape physically, mentally or spiritually and (b) serves others or the world at large. Some sacrifice is involved, yet impressive angelic guidance and assistance received make one sure that one is doing the right thing as best one can.

There may be difficulties which even seem like dangers, stress and limitations. "A serpent surrounded by a circle of fire" means that one cannot expect simple acceptance from people because they seem to hold one captive to their own notions. The distinctive interests or beliefs of others may seem improbable or even ridiculous, and they may see some of yours in that same light. What is peculiar to one may be a necessary phase of experience for another.

There is something like ecclesiastical or religious work, or work with an idealistic organization, which makes for seclusion and protection. At the same time there are temptations toward the sensuous or erotic, as we know sometimes afflict priests, pastors and gurus. Falling into temptation by allurements could be disastrous. 

One requires dominance of oneself before one can dominate others. There could be a sadistic sophistication toward those who, one thinks, ought to understand things better than they do. That is not helpful to you or to them. Jesus was called "rabbi" and was severe in many of his teachings, because he had to awaken people to their errors as well as comfort them. We emulate him insofar as we rely on a heritage of kindness and eternal values while ministering warmly to human needs.

In the procession of the daily symbols, according to the formula I have developed painstakingly over the past decade and more, we begin with some nice ones this time and proceed to more difficult ones. First, "I perceive nothing but sunshine--all is bright--a cloudless sky." This is to be taken symbolically, not literally, for often there are clouds and rain during a |difficult third| (and these are hitting the weekends again and shall for a while). Charubel says this indicates happiness and prosperity. Then there is "An old-fashioned signboard suspended from the branch of a tree before an ancient looking wayside inn." Let's go in, put our feet to the fire and drink a toast to our health.

Interesting characters surround us, eccentric, maybe grotesque or peculiar, perhaps geniuses of a disorderly sort.  At the same time history and artistry are blessing us, "Three old masters hanging in an art gallery," so there is accord with all varieties of human potentiality.

There could be some hard labor in store, for one is likely to care about one's career or position in the world. One wants to govern oneself in a patient and enduring manner for the sake of the rewards that assures. Yet there can be hospitality, sincerity, and friendly entertainment, "A well-lighted house with open door." 

Values are passed on from one generation to the next, "Grand dames at tea," granting one aplomb in the world one's ancestors have handed down. Such cultivated poise is essential because "Two men are placed under arrest." One might see this in politics---the "two men" could be virtually any two you choose in the three-ring impeachment and counter-impeachment circus. Or you may sense that you and someone else are "arrested" in the sense of having to face issues together, consequences of past activities. This can be salutary as well as difficult. Life goes on and the previous paragraphs show that we can find recovery from misdeeds or negligence.

\Plodding On with Aplomb and Poise/

I shall mostly avoid politics. I must say however  that the beginning of impeachment (if that is how the vote is going to go) is not a very good time for it, or else one might say it is the perfect time. What I mean is, this week Venus is exactly square Saturn. This is just about my least-favorite aspect and has been for decades. It is the "nobody loves me aspect" and all feel it in one way or another. Of course Trump feels it, and yet his campaign raised five million dollars in sympathy money yesterday and millions are supporting him and feel even stronger about supporting him because of the impeachment threat. Of course the Democrats feel it, and impeachment is their way of saying "If you don't love me, voters, see what I will do! Destroy your favorite candidate! Hahaha!" Anyway that's what it looks like. Schadenfreude, joy in the suffering of an enemy, is a Venus-square-Saturn self-indulgence, and not a good one. Americans are indulging in it  to their detriment. Of course, we don't know yet even whether the House Judiciary Committee will recommend going ahead with impeachment. Things could change. 

Friday:  "A man feeling his way over a bog, where he appears to be sinking at every step he takes" does not sound promising. Donald Trump, or the Democrats, or both? If it feels also like yourself, be patient: By late afternoon or evening, things may seem a lot better. (I am not basing that on TGIF but on the motion of one planet into a different position around sunset. But yes, TGIF!) 

With Luna in Virgo conjoined to Mars, it is good to be a plodder, to keep on with ordinary things and get them done. Yet going along with the TGIF syndrome, we have "A large audience and a man at the piano." Yes I think I will be up for hearing the piano man, after plodding sufficiently to assuage my conscience.

Along with the Mars syndrome comes "A red triangle" indicating impulses which have intelligence behind them but could be too forceful. Persuasion is better than a temper-tantrum. "An old door in which a dagger is stuck" could show Trump stabbing at "existing systems" or it could show the Democrats sticking their dagger into Trump Tower and the White House. All this betokens a "mocking, taunting spirit" which however does not escape "the hand of retribution." Which side more deserves that retribution depends on your political viewpoint. Meanwhile we may all well tone down our uneasiness with things as they are rather than toss daggers at them to evoke a repercussion.

Let's calm down. By Happy Hour or later we have less anxiety and may be like "Grand dames at tea," whatever our favored beverage. We sense that we have an inheritance or position with some privilege which grants us aplomb. "A retired sea captain" is someone else as well as ourselves relaxing into past achievements and enjoying life around us because we have made peace with lessons we have learned and our further potentialities. Aye aye, Sir! Ma'am! Cheers!

It seems we are being pushed back toward basic, material or necessary things, away from the purely speculative or imaginary. Inspiration is good, but the Scriptures advise us to "try the spirits." Some enthusiastic "leads" could be misleading. Charubel suggests that we could be dexterous in the use of a knife or an edged tool, as an artist, engraver, carver or even surgeon (for those trained of course). 

Being engaged in hard labor, as "a plowman" or plodder, is no disgrace, for the world depends on such individuals. Yet this is not all dull: One might feel that one is soon able to explore, travel, discover, or erect a temporary shanty or shelter. That is, use acquired skills in fresh situations. Home undergoes development. Or this might be no more than cleaning up and reorganizing. 

Again, menial work is not to be despised but taken up happily when needed. If one feels one does not have the perfect tools or prerequisites, one can go ahead with what one has and it will work out. The indication of "an iceberg" and "northern countries" is strangely redolent of Swedish student Greta Thunberg's speech at the UN and her admirable activism. Icebergs are melting, and that is one of the worries, as is a glacier in Italy causing evacuations. Signor Borelli's symbol from the 1890s seems to be hinting at our current environmental crisis. 

"A boat landing washed away" is in the same category, suggesting how shorelines could be swallowed up by swelling oceans. At an ordinary daily level this suggests that one has to let go of one one thing (the washed-away landing) in order to get on with one's project (by finding another port or landing). Meanwhile "a boy with a censer" is praying for us, that is, our own childlike yet higher selves are aspiring toward angelic assistance, and may we receive it!

^The Evolving Magic of Consciousness^

I shall try to refrain from comments on politics, after a very busy day of all that on Tuesday. Both Boris Johnson of the UK and Donald Trump of the US are Gemini, and both seem to be in trouble, yet I believe neither is in as much trouble as appears right now. 

Wednesday has a lovely, mystical, charming feature, which is one facet of life one can enjoy during a void-of-course period. Further, there is an aspect of magic, "A long pole suspended horizontally in mid-air with a rope attached to each end connected to the earth." Charubel says this is knowledge of an amazing law of nature not known to most, therefore "occult." Perhaps it has to do with the reconciliation of opposites (both ends), which we very much need.

There could be simplicity in just seeing what needs to be done, and doing it. Innocence does not dither but just does what seems essential. Sometimes during a v-of-c period it is better to do just that than to think too much and get lost speculating about what one might or might not do. (Washington will be aflutter about impeachment possibilities, many of which will come to nothing.) 

"A man in chains" could be Johnson or Trump---or at least their enemies want them so bound. But "A man walking with two women, their arms linked in his" shows how both of them, Gemini the twin-sign, can link with both sides of any pair of opposites and sometimes come out ahead because of that. You may know someone frivolous and insincere, given over to flattery and dalliance with the opposite sex, vacillating, yet getting away with it. (At least to a point.) Sometimes it is good to be lighthearted, if no one is getting hurt.

"A flag at half-mast" could be Trump supporters worried about their President, or it could be Biden supporters, for it does not appear that he and his son are going to come out of this mess unsmirched. It could be the "flag of the nation" half-mast because of the wrong-doings of all parties in all parties. We need to respect those worthy of respect, and respect the better even in those whose worse sides do not deserve the same. "Circular paths" show how all seem to be circling around in patterns which return where they began. This is fatuous if merely habit or addiction. It could be good when it is remaining true to oneself and one's own orbit while experiencing repetitions, letting everything fall into place. The congruity of one's endless circling could evolve into something like a glorious spiral.

^Melancholy Mingles with Enchantment^

The symbols for the day are mostly beautiful, and the lunar aspects promising. The dour note is Venus's square with Saturn, exact within two degrees and even closer tomorrow. This is the "nobody loves me" aspect because it makes for hyper-sensitivity about attachments, unions, and attractions. At best it can be shared sympathy, in the sense that sometimes "misery loves company." It could be the time for a heart-to-heart with someone, provided the potentials of hurting or offending are kept in mind and finessed sensitively. 

"A golden ball suspended from the ceiling of a circular hall" is mystical and somewhat secretive, as if one had a subtle power over people, influencing them more than one realizes. Someone may charm you in the same manner. Someone "playing on a violin" connotes refined taste, generosity and intuition. 

Innocence, plus "a full participation in everyday living," is shown by "Tiny children in sunbonnets." They get to play in "a fine chateau, with gardens and terraces." "A full-feathered peacock struts leisurely," and the children's parents are displaying luxurious habits somewhat snobbishly. 

Yet Venus is square Saturn, and there can be melancholy and withdrawal, or else a "bad match" and a focusing of one's expectations upon someone inappropriate. And so being solitary is not so bad after all, as if one were "in the garb of a doctor of the monastic order." Intellectual and spiritual pursuits are fruitful. One searches for what is missing in ordinary life. 

One might ponder the contribution of someone gone from this world, "A flag at half-mast." And one wants one's own reputation to be worthy of remembrance. Yet mingling with this serious strain is more of the childlike motif, "Children blowing soap bubbles." No matter what deep things we contemplate, we can maintain "a simplicity of character" which taps into "a transcendental magic of being." Life is enchanting, and so are we when we succumb to the the environing enchantment.

What I wrote about the month of Libra now beginning was destroyed by Google before I could send it to you. 

This will probably be partly a Blue Monday because of what you can see in the indications above. 

Some circumstances may seem incompatible and you are sensitive to them, but you remain honest and just in all transactions and that is a protection. You may spend time with artistic people or those who are eloquent and popular, and perhaps enjoy music with them. When people feel unloved they gravitate toward groups even if groups of strangers.

"A man with painted face and tangled hair" accents the artistic or even bohemian side of this new month of Libra ruled by Venus. Eccentricity is not always craziness. You feel that your career is important and may feel "a dark mantle or shadow thrown suddenly over the right shoulder," that is, Destiny is on your side in some important particular. 

"A man with a drawn sword" shows the military side of Libra---Napoleon had that sign rising and Eisenhower was a sun-sign Libra. But this can be beneficent if it is on the side of justice. A seemingly opposite symbol is "A fair woman looking at her face in a hand-glass." This is the foppish side of Libra, as in Librans Oscar Wilde, Truman Capote, and many others. Libra is a sign of opposites, therefore the "balance" or scales. It's always an interesting month, and the Jews perhaps wisely made it the first month of their year. 

"Mary and her white lamb" suggest cherishing young ideas so that they make life full, healthy and creative. One's artlessness is a trust in the guidance of what Christians call the Holy Spirit. It makes for serendipity. There is work, of course, but as "miners emerging from a mine" we may feel pleased at the end of the day with the treasure we have gained, plus our escape once again from labor.

There can be no report for this weekend. I wrote, over a period of three hours, a detailed and researched report about the month of Libra and the ending month of Virgo. Libra begins Monday the 23rd. All that is gone; Gmail wiped it out and did not save it as it says it does. This is the first time that has happened to me in years and it happened during the hideous month of Virgo. I have explained in last week's weekend report what was "wrong" with that month. I gave a fairly nice prognosis for the month of Libra but it is gone. I gave the |karmic third| times for the weekend but that is gone. Google, you need to be more careful with your programming so that you actually preserve documents your customers write and work on for hours.

Someone you admire greatly, "a man among men" or "woman among women," is influencing you to keep going, "turning a gigantic wheel," in your own mission to bring some semblance of heavenly order to the world.

There is a playful as well as serious side to this, so you may sometimes wonder if you are doing anything other than blow bubbles. There are active individuals around you but they seem shallow, turbulent, self-willed. 

Prosperity comes to you through industrious habits, as if you were living as an ancestor who husbanded wide-branching trees laden with fruit.  What you need for success seems on the way. Still, you may feel morose or bereaved, as if someone you loved were gone from you. Keen sympathetic feelings breed melancholy.

Sometimes work seems endless. One feels like a "miner emerging from a mine" when there is escape after duties are completed. What is your "royal coat of arms," what your prerogatives? Aristocracy is not always unfair privilege if it is really the "rule of the best." If you do as hinted in paragraph 1 you acquire such vantage.

}Angels Steer the Canoe?{

Up until the v-of-c time (above), there is a smooth trend. You might feel something is missing or that you do not have the best equipment to get things done, but this does not diminish your bright outlook. Breakfast might be a happy time, "Grand dames at tea," when you feel aplomb and security concerning what is coming today.

The void-of-course time could be an opportunity to get little, ordinary routines finished in preparation for what follows.

After the moon enters Gemini (time above), there is an emphasis on friendship and gain through connections. Some of this could be questionable, based on lust or raw desire (either your feelings toward someone or theirs toward you), "A naked man falling from a rock into a lake." The "lake" is inappropriate erotic energy or lust which might tarnish one's reputation either in one's own mind or someone else's. But going along with this is "An angel standing in mid-air, with a scroll covered with writing." So there is a choice between lower impulses and higher aspirations.  Turning to the angel, you could see how to care for or be kind to those who formerly attracted you at a more base seductive level. 

Some sort of gain through moving about from here to there is possible, though with a feeling that you are "adrift upon a raft" part of the time. You are on the lookout for what could help in your work. Many of us are climbing out from a "cavern in a rock" where we have felt trapped for the past several weeks. Is your favorable spot at home or somewhere in the neighborhood? This is a question you can answer by sensing the best possibilities. 

As you approach seclusion at the end of the day you may feel that you are "approaching safety through dangerous waters," having steered your canoe wisely. Life's beauty is evident in imminent Autumn, and in friendly human beings.

It seems that today and Thursday may be noticeable as days of "recovery" from the rigors of the past month. I hope so.

Still, there are the peculiarities of people and of the day, such as perhaps one individual who is ostrich-like in his or her assumption that he knows everything and everyone else's ideas are foolish. He or she may not say this but one can detect the syndrome. Another individual may be the opposite, gullible to a fault, believing almost any fascinating superstition or fantasy put forward. We learn to find our way between these opposites. One is dull and boring; the other colorful but perhaps wearisome.

Others are gentle and inoffensive yet seem to be weak, relaxing into the easy luxuries of fertile nature. Still a quickening may come to them; they sense that their lives are incomplete without spiritual effort and they awaken to better attempts at living during "an Easter sunrise service." 

There is hard and self-governed work part of the time. One has one's duties. Yet also there is a wonderful social sense. Venus and Mercury in Libra with good aspects to Jupiter fit with "Two women walking together with linked arms talking confidentially." This is concord plus shared prosperity.

Divisions of labor exist to make for specialization yet participation in common goals. That's something like "A girls' basketball team." Those from the past and present, older and younger, perceive life's meanings and live their values, personifying them. This could awaken us to the fact that our ideals have been "abundantly crystallized" or embodied.

\Mystical Influences and Wise Choices Add up to Comfort and Luxury/

Being on the alert, even the defensive, is just being prepared for any opposition in a cool manner. It should not be depressing. A happier trend is symbolized by "A golden ball suspended from the ceiling of a circular hall." Secret mystical power-influences charm and fascinate those in your company. 

Differences of opinion have been a disturbing undertone for weeks and continue, but there is "An Easter sunrise service" and Jupiter has two sweet quintile aspects from Venus and Mercury, so it seems people appreciate one another for whatever they are worth without painful  judgments. Luna is exalted in Taurus so there is wealth in natural qualities. Contentment, comfort, and luxury are possible, with smooth personal attachments.

The combination of v-of-c with |the karmic third| does not mean disaster but requires patience. Slowing down is good, to link one's consciousness with that of the Eternal Which, or Who, is beyond these temporal vicissitudes. 

Agricultural down-on-earth-ness, soil or manure or excrement or something anal, is just part of the process at home and among those you like. There can be fun, amusement, artistry and eloquence, as if someone were entertaining at the piano in an assembly hall.

A drifting, floating trend goes with loneliness, as if during one's adventures one felt abandoned. Yet you can develop and assert dominion through strong character, and brook no opposition to basic plans. You maintain your dignity.

You may feel somewhat misanthropic and therefore alone. You are not unaffected by others' short-sightedness or moral obliquity. They don't realize what is missing in their character. All are bound by chains they forge themselves, unwittingly. To be self-centered is to be less than one could be, but you may feel that others' self-centeredness prevents you from expanding beyond your own. 

It is necessary to compete, or keep going and trying, in order not to be eliminated from the "swimming race" of life. Losing one round or race is not being eliminated, it is being tested and improved for the next attempt. We should not let our feelings of futility or failure make things more bleak than they are. 

When the challenge of living is felt as experiment and self-discovery, there is "The dawn of a new day, everything changed."  You are dependent on yourself and the Highest, not on any other human being, and when you sense the illimitable potentialities of your living you are able to innovate joyously. An appetite for experience blazes a happy trail.

Analysis of Current Problems

I feel that I have not warned you sufficiently about the difficulties of the current Virgo month (August 23 through September 22). For many who are in touch with me, it has been very hard. I do not know all the details in all of their lives, but it seems that things have been in a near-crisis state for many or most.

I did not predict this at all clearly in my original prognosis for the Virgo month. I corrected some of that last weekend by detailing in that report some of the problems I overlooked in the initial forecast.

The root of the difficulty was hard aspects with the planet Jupiter. This is Jove, or G*d in ancient Greek thinking, and the "greater benefic." That designation misled me. But in fact, in the monthly chart, Jupiter has not a single good aspect. So, one might say, the Creator was unsupported by His creation! That is just one way of putting it. From the Creation's side, the Creator was not supporting His creation! I felt like complaining to and arguing with G*d several times during that month (and it continues for another week until Monday the 23rd). 

The fact that Jupiter is "benefic," a "good planet" with good will (or a "good god with good will" if you prefer), blinded me to the fact that these hard aspects were going to be so difficult. I am still learning that harsh aspects to Jupiter and Venus (the "lesser benefic") can be as painful as aspects to Saturn or Mars (the "greater and lesser malefics"). 

So far as I know, no other astrologer has pointed this out as clearly as C. E. O. Carter, a magnificent astrologer during astrology's Theosophical heyday in Great Britain, who wrote in the first half of the twentieth century. As I mentioned last week, in his superb book The Astrological Aspects he says that he finds the squares and oppositions between Mars and Jupiter to be the hardest aspects of all (p. 124). This surprised me when I first read it years ago, because I would have though that the Mars-Saturn aspects would be hardest. But then Dr. Carter's observation (I gave him an honorary Ph.D.) was confirmed when Mars and Jupiter began an opposition exactly, by ten degrees, on 9/11/2001. That began a long period of national and international confusion, upset, and conflict.

By that ten-degree orb, Mars in Virgo is square Jupiter in Sagittarius from August 25 through September 30, lasting till about two weeks from now. It has been health issues (Virgo) for many. It has been religious conflicts (Sagittarius and Pisces wherein Neptune lies) for many. It was exacerbated by the fact that Jupiter is square and the Virgo planets opposite Neptune in Pisces. This makes for a T square concentrated on Jupiter. God has been under fire! This looks to us, of course, as if God is firing at us. We do not see into our own karma.

I won't regale you with the problems I have had personally. I will just mention that Virgo is the sign of "little things," and with not just the sun (which is always there in the Virgo month of course) but also Mars, Venus and Mercury therein, the "little things" for many have piled up into seeming mountains. 

What is the value of this? Keeping on keeping on. For example, it has been hard for me to keep up with my exercise program, but I have done quite well at it this month. I believe that these squares, though upsetting, brought out stamina in many. "I am going to face this stuff and stick with my program." I did that fairly well though with many lapses and moments of a need for rest. 

Let's not overlook one especially pleasing recent aspect, the sun's trine with Pluto. This has been rather erotic. In the midst of the complaints and struggles we've been mentioning, you have felt a strong attraction to some individuals (or one in particular). Pluto tends to be the erotic, seductive planet par excellence. Of course this can go wrong. Under the current trine, however, it probably has been fairly harmless. Did you feel it especially Thursday and Friday? It should continue through the weekend because another smooth love-like trend is beginning with both Mercury and Venus entering Libra on Saturday. This is good. It is the social sign, a sign of linking with fascinating people in settings which bring out pleasing clothing, grooming and savoir faire. If not pure love, then attraction and flirtation prevail. This is specially true all through the coming week because Mars will be trine Pluto the whole week (exactly on Wednesday-Thursday). 

Then on Monday the 23rd begins the Month of Libra. We shall discuss it in next weekend's report.

You may feel disappointed in people's attitudes. They seem not to confide in you, or you in them.  You may know someone who "despises the ideas of another and has none of his own," as if a pompous ostrich. But scientific interests are favored.

Some, youthful and innocent, seem to care for nothing but their own amusement, but at least do no harm. Some others who feel gloomy or even ill may suffer long and yet rise beyond problems later in life. That could even be later this month, as the Virgo planets move away from their harsh aspects with Neptune and Jupiter.

There is concern about money. This might seem like covetousness in someone else, but not in ourselves, most likely! Questions of work for income and of fairness in pay seem significant. There could also be intense mental concentration on sublime yet difficult matters, as if one had an eccentric mind searching for secret things. This does not have to be chaos, obscuration or confusion but might seem so temporarily. 

"A false call unheard in attention to immediate service" explains itself. We could get lost in indiscreet or unnecessary matters which damage our attempts to do something good. We need to safeguard our good intentions. "An ouija board" shows we can be flexible and intuitive in getting messages from life itself, and occurrences as they develop. Everyday acumen and spiritual intuition mingle and yield confidence that we are following the right guidance.

You are on the alert and the defensive, ready and waiting for any contest in "the arena." This ought not to be extremely daunting because other indications suggest ease, "A person being carried by four men in a sedan chair." There could be wealth plus idleness. Your awareness of what could go wrong protects you.

Frustration in worldly matters, perhaps losses, are compensated by spiritual rewards on transcendental heights. Some things seem easier than recently, with a flowering of childlike innocence: "A little boy in a state of nudity blowing bubbles."

The square between Mars and Jupiter (while both in close hard aspect with Neptune) has been intense for me and many others---for all of us, in different ways. It remains exact and some of the daily symbols reinforce the "conflict" nature of the aspect. It can be fiery, and Neptune brings in the watery, so we had the sad fire on the California diving boat; we had the capsized North Korean boat, which also had a fire within it, from which all were fortunately saved. An answer to prayer and good work by the Coast Guard and others. Many things seem to go "wrong" in individual lives, but we can recover from them. Another symbol suggests "Ecclesiiasticism" which most think is on the wane, but not where Christianity is thriving, as in Africa and China. Rituals which bring spiritual hopes alive may appeal to you.

"A volcano in eruption" means that explosive inner passions have to burst forth. That is on the active side. More passively, we have "A man gaining secret knowledge from a paper he is reading." Discoveries are possible from considering what has been taught or intimated in the past as well as in the present. Secret knowledge is secret because most are not ready to comprehend it.

Another long v-of-c day. But I am writing on Tuesday, and though the moon is not v-of-c now, I have had a very difficult morning. In the Tuesday forecast I downplayed one of the symbols for the day: "A man wading through mud knee-deep. The opposite bank towards which he is struggling is enveloped in fog." Charubel warns that this could be "perished hopes and abortive speculations." I spent hours yesterday and today trying to "repair" my printer, used for the daily and monthly charts, but today it was obvious that HP was not going to help me fix it, and the warranty is expired. It is easier just to buy a new inexpensive printer. (There seem to be some good ones available. I am going for a monochrome laser printer this time, since I do not do colored photos, though I might miss the colors in the astrological charts, but they are hardly essential. It's the Brother Compact Laser Printer HL-L2370DW . I hope I won't be disappointed. Toner replacement cartridges are very economical as compared with ink-jets and I am tired of dealing with HP for the latter.) So now early in the afternoon I have done almost nothing but mess with all that, and it does feel like "wading through mud." 

We have that same symbol today, Wednesday (for Mars). And the moon is void-of-course. Do you really have to go to work today? Kidding; probably the best thing its to keep a stiff upper lip, and wear high-topped boots. There is also "A farmer with horse and cart loaded with manure." I leave the interpretation to you. Whether B. S. or H. S., it's all the same when it comes to politicians, and ten of them will be dispensing it not tonight but Thursday. 

We are all waiting for something. (My printer, and a few books I have ordered. And much more.) And we all have something to give: "A man pumping for a crowd with vessels held forth for him to fill." Are Elizabeth and Bernie practicing to do this, as Robin Hoods, taking from the rich for the poor? Or Andrew Yang giving both rich and poor a nice monthly stipend? Yes, it is good to be generous.

"A husbandman or cattle-dealer holding a stock-whip in his hand" goes along with the previous rural symbols. Are farmers up in arms against politicians? "A broken hammer or mallet" suggests awkwardness among some of the candidates. (When I first wrote this I was under the mistaken impression that the debate was tonight rather than Thursday.) Apart from that, you may feel awkward in something you are trying to do, but you can still carry on, v-of-c or no, in one way or another. My printer (mallet) is broken, for example--unless Jeff Bezos flies the new one to me by drone! I hope not. 

Which Democratic candidate will be most like "an orangutan"? Full of pride and dexterity? None will likely resemble "Grande dames at tea." That is not politically correct. You, however, may calm down to such a mode by the end of the working day, relaxing into the arms of the "void," into gracious aplomb, even though the major astrological configuration is a tight and tightening T square among Mars, Neptune, and Jupiter. This is some intensity of zeal, whether let loose or held back. Let the Grande Dames have it.

You know you have good abilities, yet this does not make you popular, so you try other things for that, supporting the popular taste to get approval. That has its limits. People may think you do not confide in them or esteem them. It is a struggle when one does not foresee what is on "the other shore" toward which one is striving. Prayer is always helpful, especially when transcending selfishness.

You see potentials of gain which require some waiting. Being self-supporting is good, but when you need help it is not shameful to ask for or accept it. What seems like collapse can be remedied.

The happy side of things is here as social concord. Someone sympathetic and cordial walks and talks with you. Together you care about those younger in years or in experience and wisdom. There can be harmony between earlier and later generations. 

Someone in your life is strong and dexterous, maybe a little primitive but mobilized to rise to the occasion, "an orangutan." Someone else is like "a boy with a censer," one who appeals to God with spiritual motives and invokes rapture for himself and those around him (or her). Or these two opposite but complementary components may unite in someone special, and in yourself.

There have been a lot of void-of-course periods lately because of planetary placements early in signs, rather than toward the end where they "catch" the moon's rays or influence later in the sign-transit. This v-of-c lasts the whole working day for those in the U. S. Eastern time zone. Routine is the key, rather than rocking the boat. Anything unusual requiring extra care or the decisions of others might better be postponed until Tuesday. (This is specially true because the |difficult third| also lasts most of the day.)

You could get routine things done promptly and skillfully, postponing the trickier ones for tomorrow. People may not feel like confiding in you, or you in them. 

You could be alert to what a friend is doing in his home, or with it, or alert to the needs of a friend who visits. You may perceive how things extend themselves in space or time, in a scientific way, so as to gain an advantage, even if this is a little remote for now. Your reach exceeds your grasp, but might fulfill your grasp later. 

A military or aggressive stance toward some things could be successful, to a degree, when that is appropriate. At the same time, however, you prefer the happier concord of a comfortable life shared with others. Toward those younger you feel fatherly or motherly, as if a guardian. 

Public service, or a lasting contribution to the world, is important. We may ask ourselves what we are leaving behind us as we travel forward. We want to be respected for what we have done. This can be graceful or aesthetic, something about you which people appreciate as a lady would appreciate her knight's noble gestures toward her.
