Interesting thoughts: Gold is a chemical element with symbol Au (from Latin: aurum)
"Au" is the beginning of "August," the month of Leo which is ruled by the sun which also rules the element of gold, and gold is the metal of Leo. Also, significantly, Sri Aurobindo is not only a Leo but was born with Jupiter and Uranus in Leo in addition to the sun. The latin "aurum" means gold and also luster, or gold color, and is obviously related to aura and aurora.
Before complaining about the heat, remember that you are being refined with the rest of the gold into something quite magnificent! Sri Aurobindo was and is the Master of transformation, the supreme alchemist. His birthday will be August 15.
There is also an "a . . . u" in "Aquarius," the opposite sign to Leo, and today the moon is there opposing the sun, exactly at 11:12a PT | 2:12p ET | 6:12p UT, the time of the Leo-Aquarius Full Moon.
A great deal is going on. Some of us may feel flustered with too much to do. Mercury's bi-septile with Saturn could help us focus on what is truly relevant and needed. This could be in monetary matters and also as related to friendship. Essentials are essentials.
Mars in the picture, close to the sun and so opposed to the moon today, and starting a trine with Saturn, suggests being firm about what is most important and refusing to let it elude your grasp. It will not always be what others think most important.
Neptune's position and aspects, as well as Jupiter's, suggest a desire to escape and an ability to do so. We need to be careful with that. Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville is a place for escapists, no doubt, and ought to be inhabited only briefly, maybe at happy hour or bedtime. The slippery slope smells sweet and feels refreshing.
The higher joys of Jupiter and Neptune are spiritual. Those who have developed a taste for spiritual reading, mantra, prayer, and meditation know what I am talking about. These can bring ecstasy beyond anything drugs or alcohol can fleetingly release, with never bad aftereffects but only very positive ones. A friend who dropped alcohol two years ago and never looked back is an inspiration to me.
We are all different, however, so if you indulge, you know you need to do so sparingly (sun and Mars quincunx Neptune). You will find beauty and inspiration in other ways and places you hadn't expected.
The huge number of opportunities you sense around you is wonderful, so it is well to choose wisely from among them rather than get lost in them (three oppositions all in different quadratures, and a splash-shaped chart). You know by now what your forte is, what you can do better than others, and if you focus on that you will be using what you have already learned although perhaps in fresh ways. The Dark, Slow or Backward Hermetic Epoch (until September 19) is good for rehashing, reviewing, and re-using all we have learned. It is not so good for utterly new, daring ventures which pop up or occur to you. Things you have already set in motion need to be further developed, instead.
