The v-of-c times---all day almost this time---are good for the unusual, the off-center. They are also good for serious catching up with really essential things, if one can toss off impulses to go in multitudinous more "interesting" directions. It's a matter of constant refreshed judgment so that one does not get lost, yet allows oneself some enlivening variety when possible.

Incompetence and bankruptcy---does our nation face this? Or is is just a worry, after enjoying the calm reign of one of the most competent and cool-headed presidents ever? Immediate work is necessary to hold everything together and prepare sufficient supplies for the future. What has failed in the past should be eliminated rather than tried again.

We may feel surrounded by dangers, captives of ordeals. Yet there are close sextiles to give us harmony when we attune ourselves to it. Someone is playing a violin while Wall Street churns.

Open-handedness and sincerity sum to hospitality. Someone reading tea leaves or cards sees signs of what could be grasped advantageously, if we would listen.

We look up to the sky and stars, and look around for reassurance. We are being summoned to a broader destiny if we can catch hints thrown at us. Nature is always there, for solace and refreshment, if we acknowledge its existence (at least in Facebook or Snapchat photos! Let's not actually endure the cold!).

It's easy to sit around and savor wine, or hike with a flask of whiskey into the wilderness. It's not as easy to sense the messages borne to us by nature, animals, dreams; yet these could animate our latent convictions.

Consequences of past choices arrest us; hold us to their results. Walking in paths of Mother Nature could lead us to a favored child whose karma is fresh and free, lifting us beyond limits of boredom.

We contemplate what might have been. The night sky reveals the past as well as the future. Someone young in his or her career feels ready to roll; then after a while feels that limits have been reached and there is decline. Yet the situation of the moment contains all the clues needed to move forward, albeit gently because cognizant of deep meaning surrounding every tiny action, even the most practical.
