Affinities with deep teachings are trending.

People are trying to do a lot, and getting in each other's way some of the time, so putting order in things is necessary.

There could be seclusion, perhaps with a feeling that you are misunderstood and prevented from expressing yourself as you wish.

Timidity and insecurity have to do with the affections, as if we did not trust that anyone loves or cares for us. Yet Venus has very good aspects, so this could well be an illusion. 

When all else fails, you could look toward someone you trust and believe in: a guide, teacher, leader.

There could be exhilarating enjoyment of the human race in its immediate context: "A crowd upon the beach." The question is how much human differences repel rather than intrigue you, with the moon opposing Uranus. Universal love is easy to talk about, not so easy to feel. 

People may be translating their anxieties concerning politics into personal relations, to some degree, even when associating with those who agree with them about it. It's edginess about the national destiny.

Genuine inspiration is inviolable. It may seem controversial in its outer form, when teachers, groups, doctrines and dogmas clash. But the core of it is ours when we listen for it, or otherwise perceive it, at soul levels.

The demands on my time this week have been extraordinary. It is late Friday evening and I have not had a break. I need one, and as usual I do not write a report on Saturday, my sabbatical day. So here are the bare bones for Sunday:

This looks a little disconcerting or mildly upsetting or just slightly confusing, depending on how much you wanted to do today. After Luna enters Scorpio (time above) perhaps things will get more lively and definite, while she is sextile to Mars in Capricorn. 

We may be preparing for the beginning of the Bright Hermetic Epoch on Thursday October 6, when our plans are likely to become less troubling or uncertain and cooperation with them more harmonious.

The final days of an Old Moon are usually less spirited, with a tendency to slack off or rest. I do not think that is always bad. On Thursday I felt really "out of it," as indicated in the forecast, and did rest more than usual. I tried to continue my spiritual quest, however, during the outward resting periods. (What a "spiritual quest" is depends on one's own position, viewpoint, horoscope, and dharma.) 

(Oh, on a more trivial level, my coffeemaker stopped working, a sign of the DHE, the moon void-of-course, and the |difficult third| of the week. Not a tragedy but inconvenient. I made tea instead and that may have contributed to my lethargy due to a caffeine deficiency!)

So we may get a "rebirth" after the New Moon late in the day, but this could be slow to manifest.

Although feeling confined and limited, I think we will be realistic enough to accept that and do what is feasible, which is, after all, what the Divine Plan asks of us.

A very astute person, who detects everyone's faults, has rejected any method of capitalizing on that for himself but instead tries to point out their faults to others, to help them, and gets little thanks.

There is a romantic, imaginative, and harmonious side of everything, while Venus trines Neptune in water signs. The nature spirits, jinni, and angels may be very active, if we can attune themselves to their action.

Impulse, temper, and desire may be held within, or they may tumble out and earn some kind of rebuke from the world. (Maybe Mr. Trump should read this? But his freedom from self-censorship is what both endears his admirers and ensures his defeat.)

People are avid to learn. That is something encouraging about the human race. Life gives us a kaleidoscopic scene we have not seen before, and so we have fresh things to learn.

Quarrelsomeness and aggression are possible (sun, moon, and Jupiter square Mars and Pluto) but will be held in check for the most part.

Someone who spent a childhood of either abuse or neglect, or an orphan, may be dear to you; and you benefit each other.

Those who assume they know everything, and deplore others' ideas, are less strong than they think, and need to keep learning. They may think they know the sins and errors of others but may be seeing "through a glass darkly"-- through their lack of perspective. 

Again: Although feeling confined and limited, we can be realistic enough to accept that and do what is feasible, which is, after all, what the Divine Plan asks of us.

Blocked up and locked up is one way to look at it. I have to give you what it looks like to me; I am an astrologer, not a Pollyanna. Deal with it! Marc Edmund Jones said that astrologers are challengers of their clients. I guess since you are a non-paying client I should challenge you even more! (Oh, please realize I am joking, I really am glad you are reading this. I may come off as a silly egotist sometimes but that is the nature of the game when you write a forecast.) 

So if you are blocked up and locked up, what do you want to be locked into? Your real purpose for living, of course. So if you find that, or sense it, or cop to it, you will be doing well.

People around you may seem not to know what they are doing. Yet they are good-hearted, within themselves, and you can appeal to that quality in them. 

Any of us who are trying for something wonderful could be deceived or misled by false hopes which are not real intuitions. In order to prevent that we have to be ready for the attack of adverse forces, called demons or evil spirits or passions or wrong motives. Real intuitions promise fulfillment but also point out the serious path to it. 

Harmony and romance help us when we feel we are walking through mud, because they renew in us the love-founded ideals toward which we are moving. 

When serious difficulties seem to impede us, and the human race, we commemorate those who have gone before to prepare a better way. 

What is true love? That which does not demand anything in return. The true lover is affectionate and confiding, with sympathy; and may not get any recognition or appreciation. 

To have superior strength is to be invested with the Strength of the Supreme. Then one does not worry about hidden enemies, because the Supreme tosses them out of their enclaves and converts them to something better. (The disciple James said that we should not pray for our enemies to be destroyed but converted.)

Things look drearier (to all of us except, I suppose, advanced saints or yogis) during the |difficult third| of any week, and we are in the center of it. (And even those advanced saints and yogis, unless they have opted out of earth evolution entirely, will have to deal with problems of their disciples during such times, such as now.) You know all the advice I would give: Buck up, carry on, etc.

Also, the Part of Fortune is in the 12th sector until the New Moon Friday afternoon; that is, we are in a "dying moon" and may feel less energetic. I find it harder to keep up with my exercise program at such times. Whether it is good to pamper yourself and get more rest is a personal call.

There are indications of good fortune financially, for many, or at least the promise of it.

Frugality is an antique, unpopular word but it might be wise to be frugal. Do you really need that stuff you thought you might spend on?

Generous and kindhearted persons can feel lively and strong. There is also a gentle, peaceful, obliging and calm quality for those who calm themselves into it.

When things get hard it may feel like walking through a bog, but when there is proud purpose there is a way.

You might commemorate someone who has passed from this world, or try to aid someone who is unhappily in it. Therapies can be mental and spiritual.

The sun is in the degree of An angel standing in the air holding a scroll covered with writing, according to Charubel. I leave this to your intuition. You could receive a message from a supercharged being. Advanced perceptions impinge upon your identity. They do not interfere with material good fortune, but show how to use it wisely.

I'm late writing this because I watched the Presidential debate in a live setting on Capitol Hill in Seattle. The crowd was almost totally pro-Hillary and the consensus was that she won roundly. Of course, devoted Trumpists (whoever the heck they are) will disagree. Like most informed people, I find it impossible to take him seriously or fall for his con-artist tricks. The financial markets favor Hillary, knowing that she would keep things safe for business and investment, and they are poised for big gains Tuesday because most feel that Hillary is on the way to becoming President. 

(The Market, as I have mentioned, does not obey any simple astrological rules, and goes up during void-of-course and |difficult third| times as often as it goes down. These periods affect the way people feel, but buying or selling--trading--in the stock market can be done out of fear or out of hope, so the mere fact that people are more fearful or more hopeful does not predict whether they will buy or sell. That rational decision is based on estimates which are fueled by but not decided by emotions.) 

Tuesday: Old things, antiquarian or antique, might interest you. The past is a comfort and support. 

You pile up things, and your heart is in your work; you keep adding to what you are building or growing and through that continuity gain a reward.

Some will spend their time in private studies or pursuits, and neglect friends, or find those friends uninteresting. That does not bode well for public success, perhaps. Cold or mathematical thought, without much executive ability, does not produce material gain. However, there is some sort of superphysical protection which can intervene to save you from loss. This is a subtle power which gives you victory. (Be thankful!)

Using a knife or tools to carve something, or remove impediments, could go well. Symbolically it is shaping something to make it more serviceable. 

Mars's degree: "An Indian chief demanding recognition." I have seen this degree indicate both Native Americans and East Indians. One of them may be in your mind as someone who wants and deserves, or inflexibly demands, something of you.

Old customs or writings may intrigue you and benefit you.They lead gently into an enhanced present, rather than stealing you away from it.

On the other hand, if we entertain evil qualities like wanting to commit sin, or listen to things which one should not listen to, or hurt and harm others, then justice, goodness and honesty will never remain anywhere near us. Therefore, you must develop sacred qualities. The Pandavas were such noble people, that is why by right they enjoyed the proximity of the Lord. For the Pandavas, Krishna was the life-giving breath, and to Krishna, His body was the Pandavas. For the Pandavas, there was not a single moment when Krishna was not present. There are suggestions of freedom and prosperity. Young persons at home or in your community seem to be escaping from their problems. There is much brilliant cognition, accurate insight, though linked to the past, so conclusions are slow and arrived at gradually. The DHE until October 6 requires patience if one is not to be subjugated to the despair of undue haste. 

"A group around a campfire" suggests interests shared amiably.

"The Pope" shows us that mere self-display, with a power lust, loses people's confidence, but self-sacrifice in a service task wins their admiration. (Hmm, how does this apply to the two debaters tonight?)

Prosperity could be accompanied by waste and extravagance. An intense desire for freedom could become aimless and destructive. (I see people drinking while watching the debate and getting carried away with wild enthusiasm over one candidate or the other.)

Luck and money to spend are wonderful as long as the self-indulgence doesn't become parasitic or grossly narcissistic.

Pride and obstinacy without merit add up to foolishness, running against the wind of public perception. 

To be simple, unassuming, and innocent may not win attention, but it wins protection from the forces of mercy.

Let's be that friendly group around the campfire.

I believe that even if Trump should gain traction tonight, that could dissipate over the final two debates in October when we will be in the Bright Hermetic Epoch and people can think more sanely. Something that goes deep into career hopes or your way of being a significant individual is stimulated.

We remain in the Dark Hermetic Epoch until October 6. One thing it is very good for is thinking about one's past. What are the foundations of your life and consciousness? You could find it valuable to review your life year by year. Memories surge up after being jogged a little.

Reading and criticism or deeper understanding of what you read is helpful. "Meeting of a literary society." Or that could be the story of your life, your memoirs.

"A strong hand supplanting political hysteria" is definitely needed. We await the debate on Monday, but I would urge everyone to beware judging the outcome of the election by one debate. It will take all three, and the period of the Bright Hermetic Epoch--in which, fortunately, the election lies--to make clear what is going to eventuate.

When some things are impossible, others are possible. A sense of deprivation could drive you to do what you wouldn't have chosen, but it makes things so much better.

Exercise is good. Participating in things that benefit the neighborhood and community is good.

"A man in chains" suggests self-chaining to viewpoints which limit too much. Or it can be the positive, necessary "chaining" to one's mission or a project.

"The sun rises over a great headland." There is magnificence in your vision and you have escaped from the negative hampering "chaining." Instead you link yourself to lofty and stable purposes.

If it feels sometimes you are wading through mud, this is just because you are trying to be thorough. Taking care of every necessary detail strengthens you.

Reexamining everything is good, when coupled with doing what needs doing in the immediate context.

The day begins with the cheerfulness of eternal youth, when Luna enters Leo. Friendship is emphasized, sometimes bright and cheery, sometimes more serious.

You have been protected from much cruelty and suffering in the past, and can rejoice in that.

"A group around a campfire" points to amiable interactions in this time of year which seems to open the soul amid diminishing twilight and falling leaves.

Church could be good for many, or a spiritual group which links you with the broader human race through a spirit of giving and sacrifice of self, worshiping with your ancestors.

Older people sometimes sense the disillusion of "the world being too much with us" and are groping spiritually toward something beyond their multiple past experiences, even as those experiences become alive for them in a new way.

A life of struggle and perished hopes yet contains within its essence the perfume of aspiration, longing, and heavenly vision.

A more virile side of life can come forward at times, with determination to win out over the enemies of pessimism, whoever or whatever they be. "I am alive and have my place in this world whether you know it or not."

Subtle powers, spiritual allies, fairy godmothers or guardian angels are with us especially when we become aware of them appreciatively.

It is not an idle day. You have work and study to do. You have to communicate with those in a job situation--superiors, as it were, although there are really no superiors and inferiors except in artificial human hierarchies. 

There are individuals who have to go through life making some enemies. It is not that they want that, but their mission is to lead in a direction which many consider wrong, even if ultimately right. So they have to bear with enmity (even unto unjust persecution, as in the cases of Socrates and Jesus). We have to be ready for the fray, if we know we are right.

Not everything is clear. It may seem that we are enveloped in fog and walking through mire. Then we need to increase our faith in the Supreme and His plans for us.

Curiosity about things and people, and inclinations toward them, are signals that something is to be gained in those directions.

Politics can be crazy, when based on lying and self-aggrandizement. Power does not come from falsehoods, and politicians who rely on lies are undercutting their power, even if they were to win an election. A Pyrrhic victory! soon to be swallowed up in moral annihilation, devastating to the soul.

When we lose in one direction, we have to be patient. The lesser position, inflicted upon us, is only preparation for a better position. So we have to keep on working, sometimes at home, in our minds and souls.

We conserve natural resources, human resources, and ourselves when we are alert to the little things we have to keep up with in daily schedules, even on a Friday. 

Each searches, in various ways, for truths which can uphold his or her mind and life. Sometimes those who research recondite sciences are melancholic, even if kindly and humane. They have seen into the depths of tragedy, but know it can be cured by patient spiritual quest.

Man-made usufructs within nature are for our use and benefit, providing we are in harmony with universal patterns (which ask us to keep trying, at least mentally and spiritually, rather than do nothing). A harsh or offensive stance is not what we want to maintain, ultimately, but may be necessary temporarily when we encounter resistance to what we know to be right.

I sometimes want to have two different "star" systems--one for work, projects, achievement, business; and another for social life, fun, happy times.  I would give today *** for fun, when you are able to get away from work, but the above ratings for projects and the like. 

The first day of Autumn brings with it a sense of justice and honesty. You feel sensitive and want to do things the right way, four-square.

Yet a lazy or careless side of you wants to coast. Libra is the sign of the "fall" in more ways than one--the sun, Sol, is said to be "in its fall" in the month of Libra (when there have been more stock-market crashes than any other month, as in 1929 and 1987). (But I do not anticipate one this time.) Libra persons are usually highly intelligent but sometimes do not seem to know for sure what their direction is, while susceptible to external influences. When strong, their strength is partly based on sensing which way the wind is blowing and so being ready for whatever happens.

You sense your capabilities strongly and feel you should be ready to move forward--with Mercury, although he is still dawdling.

A place where there are mirrors, nice furnishings, and comfort could be good for you. It is fashionable and artistic. You feel prosperous there.

While your mind is at rest within itself, you would like to share with, protect and guide those less mature. 

Secret laws of nature are marvelous. You sense some of them, even if you could not formulate them, and could use them advantageously.

Resting near a bridge or stream could be joyful and stabilizing. You appreciate what life offers as dependable.

Honesty and justice will hold you to a wise course in harmony with others' needs and wishes.

but is in fact motionlessness at that time, and shall be for hours; and the Dark Hermetic Epoch based on Mercury's motion and position continues until October 6.

NOTE: the beginning of this report is something I felt Tuesday afternoon after going through painful experiences requiring a whole lot of extra time from me. But now in the evening I feel I must continue with the daily forecasts as best I can. I leave the following for you to read, before the real forecast for Wednesday, just to show you the sort of thing people often feel while Mercury is retrograde. Many resign, or quit their jobs, or give up on a relationship. I felt like dropping this forecast. But generally, it is better to "carry on" during the MR periods. So I shall try. Meanwhile: 

I believe I need a break from writing these daily reports in their usual form.

Mercury retrograde plus the parade of difficult aspects I have been reporting to you for a few weeks make many things difficult. 

In the reports, I try to be as optimistic as possible because I am trying to be a coach or a cheerleader or counselor, and if I were to say every day "It's just terrible" what use would that be to anyone? But then when I give some nice encouraging words, and your day is terrible, you will feel that I am an idiot. 

So there seems no way to win as an astrological forecaster! That is why so many good astrologers refuse to do what I am trying to do here.

In addition, my own life does not consist just in writing these forecasts, and I am having serious difficulties in other areas which require daily attention in a big way.  So I think it appropriate that I give myself and you a break from the usual format of the dailies for a while. 

I gave the lunar phenomena up at the beginning for those of you who find that useful, and the "star ratings' which are the best I have been able to come up with after 17 years of writing these forecasts in blog form, and 13 years before that writing for Sterling's Magazines. I will try to post that much at least over the coming days. But low star ratings should never be taken as an excuse for giving up or throwing in the towel or getting depressed. Challenges are there to be met wisely.

That is not a whole lot but it is a skeleton. I hope there will be flesh on it again at some point.

Forecast-meditation for Wednesday: 

Some feel that to be immortal they must leave a contribution behind them, such as a sculptor's work to be admired by future generations. I believe that any sincere attempt to live a good life meets with immortalization by the Supreme Who is ever-merciful. 

Positive discrimination involves a determination to find out and adhere to the truth, and never anything false. 

There can be gloom, and a desire to avoid effort. Quiet fatalism attracts because it demands so little, but could result in diminishment of one's real purposes.

You can be a quick and good observer while Mercury moves to its station (place in the zodiac of apparent motionlessness from our geocentric angle). Your quiver is filled with arrows, and you are waiting to use them. Mercury turns direct very late tonight, or early tomorrow further east, but this affords little help directly except to give us some sort of internal focus and sense of direction. It could be good to meditate late tonight before sleep-time and during sleep, or when you awake during the night. One's mentality or consciousness can be reborn. One could awake feeling one knows better what one is doing and how to do it. 

Quite unusual individuals, who seem deceptive, could help you in your work or finances because they are shrewd and you get tips or clues from them.

What can I say about affairs of the heart? Venus and Mars continue in a sextile. Somehow someone, at least in imagination or memory, is important to you as an object of affection. You would like to guard and protect this individual from harm and would feel fulfilled doing so. 

Somehow this person is childlike, feeble, or less than brilliantly able, but that increases rather than diminishes your love. 

You can tap into laws of nature which are perfectly able to do amazing things for you. This is something you would not mention to anyone.

You attempt something which will endure. Attainments of the mind and spirit are forever.

The T squares (multiple) focusing on Saturn and Mars, the two most difficult planets according to the ancient astrologers, are reflected in the degree symbol Charubel gives for the current position of the South Node of the moon, which comes up today (also called the Dragon's Tail) prominently. It is one of the most malicious of the 360 according to him (not according to the other two clairvoyants whose symbols I use). I believe I sense it in some dreams I have had, with violence in them, not my usual sort of dream at all. Of course it has come out in bombings, stabbings, and other world events too numerous to mention. Fortunately those affect a tiny minority of the world's population yet they seem to be numerous in recent days. What does this mean for you and me? Probably to watch our thoughts and made sure we do not give in to resentful, angry, or even vindictive impulses or grudges. That is a metaphysical prophylactic against those very things being directed at ourselves.

There remain good luck indications, as there were yesterday--"The dawn of a new day, everything changed." What does that mean to you?

People care about their nation, and the politics of it, and are looking for "A flag-bearer," that is, someone noble enough to be a leader. 

Much is going on in the area of study and research, knowledge and truth-finding. People can discover secrets--either they were secrets to that individual before being found, or they remain secrets to others. You may be privy to something very few know about.

It is good to spend time with those with whom you feel natural, simple peace and comfort. You are hosts to one another, as it were, sharing a space and its pleasures. (Venus sextile Mars aids this.)

You observe the lay of the land and design plans, alert to advantages and achievements.

Thrift and patience can lead to success and wealth. One's vocation may seem eccentric, yet ultimately profitable.

P. S. Fascinating astrological fact: The time it takes for one degree of the zodiac to pass the ascendant is almost exactly the average length of a popular musical track. In New York City (the length depends partly on the latitude) the shortest time that one degree rises is 2 minutes 17 seconds; the longest is 5 minutes 6 seconds. The average (using the beginning degrees of the solsticial signs) is 4 minutes 20 seconds. And that would be the same most anywhere in the world except the Arctic and Antarctic.  On my Spotify playlists, this is a little more than the average length of musical tracks I listen to. The average seems to be between 3 and 4 minutes. Gradually it has increased, it seems; the Beatles' tracks were hardly ever more than 3 minutes (their most popular songs) but a lot of pop songs now go to more than 4. Still, the average is less than 4; and part of the time, of course, the duration of a rising degree is just slightly more than 2 minutes. Astrology is real, and it is reflected in this interesting fact. Maybe people's attention spans start to fade after three to four minutes, because a new segment of the zodiac is rising. Fascinating!

The four stars (out of five) have the caveat that Mercury remains retrograde so things can be slow, and backtracking required. Further, utterly new projects, or abandoning old ones for new ones, is not recommended until one has done the spadework in making sure the new ones are seaworthy. (Unintentional mixed metaphor.)

Luna is in a Grand Trine in earth signs, with Mercury and Pluto, so financial or business matters could go swimmingly. Mars and Venus are in their exact sextile and so affairs of the heart should be sweet or at least promising. 

There can be reciprocity with a special friend ("two butterflies on a flower").

Charubel warns of the diabolical or hurtful, and we have seen that in two incidents over the weekend in the U. S. A more subtle form of the diabolical could come out in dreams and daydreams, when evil forces try to tempt us into destructive thoughts or desires. Seeing good everywhere and in everyone is one metaphysical method for dispelling all that, though I realize many do not understand that to be efficacious. 

There can be innovation in career methods (good, if keeping paragraph 1 in mind): "The dawn of a new day, everything changed."

Along with good fortune goes a desire to be noble: worthy of one's blessings.

When feeling masterful oneself, one feels an urge to control others "for their good," which could be good or not depending on the circumstances.

Courage and determination lead to victory. There may be some sloggy struggles forward in partial darkness, as part of the price to pay for good fortune (and the price of survival through any Dark Hermetic Epoch, until October 6 this time). Nevertheless, gains and pleasures seem quite satisfying.

Enchanted Land: We have five more days of Mercury Retrograde, and then fourteen days after that in the Dark Hermetic Epoch, in other words, 19 days yet in the DHE. All of it is almost exactly the same as the Mercury Retrograde period, though perhaps less intensely so. And it is time to repeat, with editing, additions and improvements, what I wrote more than a week ago.

DHE, August 10 through October 5.   MR (at the center of the DHE): August 30 through September 21.

I don't think anyone, anyone, anyone, including you and me, understands the depth and importance of the Dark Hermetic Epochs with Mercury Retrograde periods at their core. These are major major changes, and times with a different dimensional reality:  we actually enter some other dimension, neither past nor present nor future, during the DHE, which is somewhat less than half the time. We enter an Enchanted Land.

Today I wanted to get out of the house and relax, after a difficult week. Instead I fell into a deep slumber, which was very good for me. I repeated prayers and mantras before and during it. We do enter other dimensions during these periods, more heavily and concretely and imperatively than during the Bright Hermetic Epochs.

Then, when I finally did get on a bus to the beach, for a little sunset excursion, it was fairly nice, although a woman waiting for the bus with me was screaming into her cell phone complaints about her working conditions and co-workers. She didn't stop until she finally got off the bus. The working schedule was all mixed up and she was being done wrong. I don't disbelieve her but wished I could have explained to her that this stuff just happens more during the DHE and MR periods. 

Then, at the beach, I had some sublime moments, and ordered a sandwich and a beer. Both were delicious, excellent. I wrote a friend on my mobile phone. I read an article about the impossible scenario of 9/11/01, when three buildings were destroyed by controlled demolition and the media and the government, and now Facebook, will not even allow us to read about the evidence for that. (That day was the very first day of a Dark Hermetic Epoch, which began, demonstratively and mathematically, that morning before the buildings were struck.) Then after my sojourn I tried to get back on the bus, could not find the stop, asked about it, finally was told by a lone gentleman in the advancing darkness that I had to take the bus in the same direction I had come, and it would turn around because it was the end of the line. Mercury retrograde! Quite literally: Get on a bus going in one direction to go in the opposite direction! 

I did this and asked the driver of the new end-of-the-line bus if we would be waiting 20 minutes and he said, "Well, exactly 18 minutes." That was interesting because it was the night of the Full Moon (actually it happened around noon my time) and I was at a beach and the Tarot Card 18 shows a pool with crab and crayfish coming out of it and a full moon and is ruled by the sign Pisces and the moon tonight was in Pisces, void-of-course. I thought it would be a good time to go to the beach for no purpose except relaxation and natural luxury, and it was. But still there were the MR complications of waiting for the bus, for example. The moon is still in Pisces as I write, and will go into Aries in about 20 minutes. I do not refrain from writing these reports when the moon is void-of-course, as it is now, any more than you refrain from going to work or putting on your shoes when that is happening. But the atmosphere and mode are different. 

The bus driver was talkative, in accord with the Full Moon when people are more aware, and went on and on about how he loved discovering new areas in Seattle. He told me that some people tonight were going to take the same bus I was on back to the beach at night with lawn chairs to observe the Full Moon. I thought that was a good idea but had to come home to write this report.

WE REALLY DO NEED TO THINK MORE DEEPLY ABOUT THE DARK HERMETIC EPOCHS AND MERCURY RETROGRADE PERIODS. They do put us in a different dimension. That is why things often get bollixed up in our workaday world. We are trying to live in two different dimensions. It is not easy and we need instruction in how to do it. I have been struggling for four decades to explain this to people, with very little success; and here I go again, with my latest explanation in condensed version, improved from a couple weeks ago:

DHE, August 10 through October 5.   MR (at the center of the DHE): August 30 through September 21.

1. Heavy side of it: MR-(and DHE-)Heavy:  Uncertainty, confusion in plans, wondering if one has any plan at all that makes any sense. Plans look like they are failing. Dithering, slacking off, feeling out of it. At worst, despair and self-contempt.

2. MR-Lite:  Not too bad, just a lot of extra stuff to do which seems trivial. Odd stuff for me with Twitter (someone mentioned me in a tweet so that everyone who "liked" the tweet or retweeted it automatically had an email sent me by Twitter telling me so--utterly meaningless and annoying to me so that I stopped following the peculiar person responsible). Trying hard to keep up with schedule and finding it almost impossible. Extra pointless stuff seems to come up. Taking a shower or finding an article of clothing has extra complexities, wasting time. Technological problems, online glitches which waste so much time. And on and on. Mind-wandering or daydreaming and not even recalling what it was all about or why. 

3. MR-Nice: Relax a little! Slack off in a good way. Give the world and G*d a vacation, and yourself, so we don't have to be hassling everyone and ourselves all the time. We need to do free-form, "out-of-pattern" stuff every day. You have lunch or dinner somewhere you usually don't. You read things or watch things you ordinarily don't. You switch your schedule around without thinking much about it just because it feels better that way. 

4. MR-Revise: You see how to improve things you are doing. Yet you may not be sure. So you try a little bit one way, then another way. It is experimental. That is fine, but my advice is, BE CAREFUL that you do not go too far in some presumptive scheme which will fail and leave you out of money or time or feeling like a fool. Experiment, but be cautious about putting any results of your experiment into full effect. Wait and see. Probably the practical plans you had going for you before the MR period began are the best. 

5. MR-Psychic: You have vivid dreams, which might be on the astral plane as subjective realities (philosophers in general do not understand what "subjective realities" means unless they are strict phenomenologists). (Google puts a red line under the word, not even knowing what phenomenologists are or that they exist!)  You feel you are in telepathic communion with people at a distance or those who have passed from this world. Probably you are. 

6. MR-Exalted: You can even rise above all this, everything, into a spiritual state of consciousness you don't reach at other times. Meditation or prayer, or silent musing, leads you somewhere real which you would not be able to put into words or explain to anyone. The Supreme seems more available, for those who care about Him or put their minds on Him or Her. Atheists could think of that as reaching out toward Infinity. Consciousness has greater possibilities than we usually assume.

And I will leave it at that, although there is so much more that could be said. Please try to understand that this is a basic distinction in consciousness, that between the Dark and Bright Hermetic Epochs---for the human race and for you and for me, as long as we inhabit this planet and have not evolved into some being other than human, for every human is the manomaya purusha, the mental being. The cycles of the earth, Mercury, and the sun (Sol) are very important to us.
