\Resting and Carrying On Gently within Confidence/

I am writing this beyond my usual deadline. Things slow down during the Dark Hermetic Epoch (September 14 through November 9, this time) but are not impossible. We need to take more time to be "out of pattern" in our approach to life. Those who insist on regularity, daily or weekly schedules, will come to grief because they will find that they can't keep up with that as strictly as usual. There are interruptions both from without and from within.

I have been writing poems as forecast-meditations. I like doing it and some readers like it. Others perhaps do not. Today I am using a more chatty conversational approach.

Do you pay much attention to the moon's position each day? Often I do not, but I think that is a mistake. It can be highly revealing. For example: Last Saturday when the moon was in Scorpio, sign of death among other things, I went to a memorial service for an acquaintance who had passed away a few weeks ago. It was a good experience. It was handled very well by those who planned it and it made me feel closer to the beloved deceased individual. This was a positive, helpful, spiritual use of the "death" sign Scorpio.

The very next day, Sunday, while the moon was still in Scorpio, my sister called me to tell me that an aged relative had passed on.

Also, look at the "foci" I give each day. On Saturday, they were in 11, Friendship and 2, Possessions. I met several (actually 7 in a quick count) friends I don't usually see. I also gained possessions, two books, from the library of the deceased individual we were commemorating. That was a beautiful consolidation of 2, Possesions, 11, Friendship, and Scorpio, death. Thank you, Jeff, for that wonderful gift!

Then two days later, Monday when the moon was in Sagittarius, a close friend went with his father to help him construct barns for horses. Sagittarius is of course the sign of the horse (or centaur). Although this individual (who has Sagittarius rising in his birth chart) goes often with his father to do this, he had not done so for months, but the very day he went the moon was in Sagittarius. Amazing.

Late Tuesday evening, just after the moon had entered Capricorn, which is the sign ruling the skin and bones in classical astrology, a friend told me she had been upset by a "scam" operation of a company selling skin creams online. She was trying to get her money back. The next day it appeared she had achieved her goal. The moon was still in Capricorn. Often events concerning the skin, hair, or bones will occur in a big way while the moon is in Capricorn.

It is not always obvious. I did not see or think about a goat while the moon was in Capricorn. But I did think about skin and hair.

What I am saying is that the literal, basic meanings of the signs are often applicable when the moon is in a particular sign. This applies also to all the other planets. The acquaintance who passed on was said to have had an enlarged heart. This is remarkable because Jupiter, the planet of expansion and fullness and largeness, is now in Leo the sign of the heart.

Because these "coincidences" or synchronicities occur so often, I thought when I started writing these forecasts that I could pinpoint them in amazing ways to persuade people that astrology is not a delusion. Alas, it's not that simple. It is hard to find the right words, each day, and it is hard to combine all the indications together. I feel, at present, exasperated by the task. The answer is this: each individual learning enough about astrology to do it for himself or herself in his or her own way.

Meanwhile, we struggle on. Aspects among the planets are quite good now. That should at least put people in happy moods. There is a grand trine in fire signs among Uranus, Jupiter and Mars. Good. Mercury slowing down, as I have said ad nauseam, is hard for regularities but good for irregularities such as personal interests apart from one's ordinary work, or enhancing that work by unusual approaches and zest. The moon being void-of-course (time above) is not helpful for most things but can be good for thinking and research. (A friend lost his cell phone when the moon was void-of-course in Virgo last week. Not a happy experience. I had told him earlier in the day to be careful but he drank too much and this was the result. Void-of-course gets worse the more careless and irresponsible one's actions become.)

More tomorrow.

\Love-Month Beginning/

Mercury will go retrograde tomorrow, mid-day. But this is almost academic; we have been in the Dark Hermetic Epoch (which begins before and continues after the Mercury Retrograde period by almost three weeks in each direction) since September 14. It is true, however, that things get more peculiar during the Retrograde period--October 4 through October 24-25. They have already been peculiar in my life for several days. Slowdowns. Backtracking. Confused communications. People changing their minds or opting out of commitments. And so on.

It is not all bad. It is good for research, thinking, planning, figuring things out, dreaming, hoping, gaining spiritual insight or enlightenment. That is not a minor gain! But the "material" or conventional or ordinary world of daily work and commitments may be left behind. Then we catch up, but at our own speed or in our own "out-of-pattern" way.

I have mentioned that Venus and Mars are in a sextile aspect for all of October, beginning exactly on the 1st (and continuing until November 8). That is very good for relationships, love, attractions, parties, fun, entertainment. If you have been disappointed by my Venus-Mars predictions in the past, let me remind you that I mentioned at those times that the "good" aspect between these two was marred by an accompanying difficult Saturn aspect, often the square, opposition or conjunction of Venus with Saturn, which is very difficult. This time, that does not happen! We have cause for celebration.

Combining these two major factors, Venus sextile Mars plus Mercury retrograde, we arrive at a few tentative conclusions:  There will be love! Perhaps in a big way. Often with those from your past who return or whom you contact or who contact you or whom you meet unexpectedly on the street or Internet, and on and on. It can be wonderful. Neither is new love ruled out, though it might be a connection from a past life.

Mercury retrograde and slow (the Dark Hermetic Epoch) does not destroy the love, not at all. It makes it more interesting and perhaps more peculiar or fantastic or impossible to pin down.

In addition, both Venus and Mars, while sextile each other, will be in good aspect with Jupiter especially in the middle of October. This can be extraordinary, lovely, even ecstatic. This will be a love-month.

Enough for now. I hope this will keep you happy for a while. Please remember, or copy, or tape to your refrigerator, what I have written here today because I cannot repeat it every day during the next month.

[Now I see that there has been a fall-off in readership since I started posting only poems. So those who didn't like the poems are missing this forecast. Too bad for them!]

  1. In response to Thursdays 'conversation' above: it is worth reiterating that what some people see as valuable insight others see as coincidence. Even stacking up the coincidences as evidence of this valuable information does not change minds. I can only wag my head in disbelief that some folks may be so closed to this information. While they, of course, are wagging their heads in disbelief that I may be adjusting my day and patterns to this 'crazy' information. We all get our necks exercised at any rate. :-)
