The servant of the Lord is called to minister
To those in rustic settings, this time for
The toils of sacred matrimony. Fruits of
The soil are displayed for sale near broken country
Leading to the woods. On a neighboring farm an explosion
Lights up the sky with fire, then darkens it with smoke.
What strange portent for this union? Perhaps a
Change of venue toward a more progressive
Place within the world? It's easier to plod and to
Make do with what has been the steady custom.
Yet fire from the neighbor's building threatens to
Invade and kill the ceremony's gladsomeness.
There was going to be music and good friends,
The bridegroom's military buddies and the spirits
Of those lost. This still could be. Yet something
Hanging in the air sharply points to other scenes,
Even a new world no one dimly comprehends.
The poetic symbols may be quite exact. The moon's good contacts with Venus and Jupiter suggest something happy and festive, good friends at least, and a bringing out of the Venus-Mars trine which (as I have suggested frequently) portends good things for couples or for those who are looking for a mate or close companion. (It lasts through December 24.) Yet we have also a just-forming T square among Mars, Uranus and Pluto, which is explosive, pressuring or forcing us in fresh directions we do not yet comprehend.
With patience, you can make something good of this day. Whatever seems like harassment, from any direction, is really something in people or situations which is inviting you to fresh perceptions, activities or realizations you feel like resisting initially. The deeper, soulful side of people can be invoked, or at least trusted and believed in when it seems threatened.

The rustic life is good for this couple newly married.
They have found themselves within its rituals and
Institutions, its lows and highs and constant middle
Regions. The woodlands nearby give a constant
Chance for rugged retirement into nature's calm
Embrace. There is more to be found across its
Varied questioning thresholds than those squeezed
In urban ruts could imagine. Relaxing there is not
A sin. Emerging, one might be inspired to write to
Those made robots by their cities, sharing natural
Inspiration, or to learn a deeper form of music
Awakened by the coolness, shade, communion
With the dryads. It is time to link these different
Worlds, combine proficiency in each
To reach a threshold for the race to race across.
There is a kind of busy-ness in the day which could feel like being locked into a pattern, yet if this is perceived as basic, and necessary to your ongoing, you can face it manfully or womanfully and stick with your program through thick and thin. Whatever is jarring is also stimulating, if taken in the best spirit. You can be bold and careful at the same time. Clarity of thinking and planning, emerging after any required questioning, is a strong card.
