I am not responsible for the mess in the following forecast, that is, lines pushed together, no paragraphing, on and on. Blogger manages to mess this up every time, whether I use Firefox, IE, or Google Chrome. And if I hit the "edit" button and try to fix it, is just gets worse. --Cosmic Piper
The farmer pounds with a hammer while a woman indignant
Rants political views. The students gather round the duck pond,
view the sky and clouds, draw a figure on the ground and dance
within it. Looking north, they want to help the farmer fix his roof.

*Protection through Higher Appreciation*
He rakes the river for effluvia he can sell. He pounds
Metallic objects into shape. He has a sleigh but
There is no snow. He whines but recovers; helps a man
Repair his porch. In moonlight he studies Mysteries.

Misdirection of effort can be a curse when one does not sense what one is doing backwards. It might produce indignation in someone, and that could teach one a lesson. Or one might get indignant that others are not accepting one's futile approach, and make things worse. The resulting scuffle could be educative. If you are not guilty of such behavior, you might detect it in someone else.
Some feel that they are incapable of much except boring hard labor which does not seem to go anywhere. Actually I am a champion of those who work for the minimum wage--I did it myself for many years--and believe that it is sinful that "we" (and it is "us" because we all reap the benefit of those low wages) pay workers such a pittance when actually minimum-wage jobs require more labor and suffering (and indignity) than other jobs. Still, those stuck in such work, let us hope, will be there only a few years and find something better. They can be sustained by their ideals and hopes. Offering their work up as a gift to the Highest is sure to win for them something better eventually. Still, the minimum wage ought to be increased. These people have no insurance and no paid holidays or vacations. In our rich society, that is criminal. These people are the opposite of parasites--they sustain the parasites who profit by their "cheap labor"! We need to fix this.
Meanwhile, for today the lazy way may not be a mistake. Both rich and poor can be covetous, but we could take a vacation from that. True resourcefulness arises from consistency of action rather than from ambitious schemes. Staying with our plans and hopes in mind while letting ourselves relax a bit outwardly could be the right formula.
