*A Frontier of Hopes*

It's a fascinating time in quite a few ways. The Presidential election, of course, is going on, so I have to let that color my interpretations a little. I think election-eve parties will be remarkable and memorable. I am absolutely and completely not going to predict a winner. I did study the charts of the two contenders, but not in sufficient detail to get to a point of trying to pick a winner. The methods I did use were, like the polls, remarkably indecisive. Mercury goes retrograde (from its station, that is, position of motionlessness) at 3:05p PT | 6:05p ET on Tuesday. When Mercury was retrograde on Tuesday November 7, 2000, we had the stressful never-ending hanging-chad, hanging-country election which was decided by the Supreme Court a whole month later. I certainly hope that will not happen again. Astrology is not about predicting races or elections. It is about understanding oneself, other people, and one's unfolding destiny. Using it to estimate statistical probabilities could be one use of it, but then it would have to be combined with other methods; in the case of elections with polls obviously; so then it would just be one factor in the fudge of always-unreliable predictions of human behavior--which, fortunately, is not all that predictable. There is, indeed, the inevitable fudge factor, in economics, history, biography, psychology, anything involving human behavior.

So, enjoy the election-eve fudge, is my serious advice. The moon in Leo makes for a good party. Venus in Libra trining Jupiter in Gemini, likewise. Aphrodite has also a quintile with Mars, so romance with someone supporting or opposing your candidate is more than likely.

The rest of the report will be directed to whatever may be going on, not just the election.

It is better to stay active during this period, at least until the v-of-c time Wednesday (above). That is, to choose things which are important and necessary and get them done. You may have a tendency to go off in futile directions, which would be okay if you had no responsibilities, but as a "coach" I have to say, do face the responsibilities first, then on to the free times. (I have astrological reasons for saying this other than just common sense.) Shallow interests which waste your time could get control of you all too easily.

That said, we must agree also that pleasure, fun, the arts, and music are important and you will have plenty of chances to enjoy all of them. Don't worry too much if some of this is chaotic. People are going in unusual directions, not sure exactly why, and the resulting confusion can be creatively fascinating. A sense of humor as well as budding excitement make it all richly rewarding in some inchoate fashion.

In a party mood, people delight in pretending to be other than themselves, or express opinions other than theirs, jokingly or light-heartedly. Maybe the spirit of Halloween has returned.

There is a feeling of something fresh and new, maybe a location you have never been, or an ambience which awakens you to be on your toes, enjoying every moment of challenge to rise to the occasion in stimulating surroundings.

As for work, it has some of that feel to it. You sense why you are doing it and how fulfilling it can be. You are gradually entering a domain you have mapped out in your hopes.

Mercury at its station foretells a bit of chaos, but just enough to be creative and thrilling. These will be days to remember.
