New Epoch of September 6 - November 2, and Labor Day Weekend

Saturday, Sunday, Monday 4-6 September 2021 and new Epoch of two months

^Interesting Epoch^

The daily lunar data are posted here at the end of this discussion of the coming Epoch.

I have written extensively here about the current Epoch from July 7 through September 5.  It has been a very tough one, as you know doubt have experienced, or if rather it has been wonderful for you, please let me know.  I am not a charlatan but a phenomenological scientist, or scientific phenomenologist.  Information from readers is a natural part of the process of investigation and reporting.

Will the next Epoch, from September 6 through November 2, be smoother and easier?  I believe so, but making predictions is something like walking on a tightrope.  It is easier to understand the astrological pattern of each Epoch while experiencing it than beforehand, but I shall try to give clues.

Disadvantage:  It is a Dark or Slow Hermetic Epoch, that is, marked out by the slow and retrograde phase of Mercury's geocentric motion. What this means, you have heard from me many times over the years.  Basically, it is a left-hand or right-brain period, good for looser, less strictly rational living and more intuitive living.   This can be a detriment for anyone trying to complete a rationally planned out project or job.  Things seem to go haywire; people desert or change their schedules; in fact scheduling gets altered frequently. But one can press on, unless it is revealed that one's project or strategy is just completely wrong or futile.  If that happens, it is not shameful to abandon something, but more often it is much better to continue through the confusing process and make needed adjustments along the way. If one can take vacations or breaks, that might actually aid the process.  Suppose you are making a movie or TV series.  Maybe actors will get sick or be absent more often, or maybe you have to film in a different location than planned, or other things need adjustment, or you decide to rewrite more than you had intended originally.  Everything might slow down.

However, this is not always a detriment, because maybe the result will be better because of all the adjustments.  Taking it slow and easy could be the wise course. Haste makes waste.  Intuition and creativity sometimes depend on a gentler pace.

Advantages:  I use a chart set up for the midpoint of the Epoch, which happens to be October 9 this time.  These have proved themselves to me.  They are far  more accurate than any New Moon or Ingress charts I have tested, and so I make them the basis of predictive astrology. The aspects in this chart are very encouraging.  (I am not going to say anything about the virus or so-called pandemic, not at all, but am setting that aside in my mind. Will it get better?  I shall not say, but I believe people will find it much easier to deal with for one reason or another.)

In the previous Epoch (July 7 through September 5) we had horrendous squares and oppositions among the most difficult planets.  In this new Epoch we have mostly trines and sextiles, the sweeter aspects.  It looks like an excellent time for a vacation.  Of course not everyone can take two months off, but I wish it were possible.  As for needed work, jobs, and projects, even if they proceed slowly they should feel much more comfortable and pleasing than in the previous Epoch.

The symbols for the degrees of the zodiac, which I use copiously in the daily forecasts, work brilliantly in these charts, based on careful observation of many past Epochs (which is how I determined or discovered this phenomenologically scientific method).  Let's look at a few of them.  (I use mainly Charubel's symbols, of the three sets, in this report though I may use the Borelli-Sepharial set later as we go through this period.  The Sabian Symbols are more friendly and optimistic so I shall mention some of them also.)

The symbol for the sun-Mercury conjunction  in the previous Epoch was 'a shovel suspended in mid-air' indicating 'profitless digging in the air and sowing to the wind.'  Does that sound familiar?  To me the previous Epoch felt like a Mercury-retrograde period, though it was not.  In the new Epoch we have 'a horse saddled and bridled, and galloping away without a rider.'  Well, this could be freedom for the horse at least. Charubel warns against 'equestrian adventures' and this might have a literal application for some.  More likely it shows the senses and desires running away without their 'rider,' the human mind.   This can happen more often in any Dark or Slow Epoch.  It adds to the sense of the unexpected, the free, hence the idea of a vacation Epoch.  The Sabian symbol casts further light:  'A retired sea captain.'  The keyword is Relaxation.  The horse runs off; the old captain too is free of his labors but has learned from them and enjoys remembering them in the present moment.  Does all this show the possibility of unusual, fascinating, liberating travel?  Yes, though of course a pandemic does not help.  If one dares to be the runaway horse, who knows what might happen?  (The sun-Mercury-Mars conjunction is trine Jupiter, planet of travel.)  It would be easier to relax at home like the old captain, unless he succumbs to the desire for another exploratory voyage.

Social life looks better than in the last Epoch.  Venus conjoined to the moon, both sextile Pluto and Saturn, show a likelihood of mutual affection or enjoyment.  Their square with Jupiter could be religious disagreements.  Luna's symbol is 'a serpent in the shape of the letter S' indicating someone who can see through a plot and make a good detective.  Venus's is 'a man at a table with drawing instruments and paper' suggesting artistry or architecture and engineering, the ability to create or develop things in a well-executed manner.  Jupiter is 'three men in a boat, two on one side, one on the other,' emphasizing the possibility of adventure, with a bit of rivalry.  Of course the boat of the State is being rowed by those on opposite sides, and we are going to hear a lot more about the doubtfulness of the 2020 election (up to the point of decertification in some states, according to the hopes of some).  Who shall be the missing 'rider' of the 'horse'?

Slow-moving Neptune last Epoch was in an ominous degree:  'A gigantic column of smoke followed by a terrible burst of flame, like an explosion.'  This happened in Afghanistan, and symbolically in other regions.  Charubel says this can be 'sudden events falling out unexpectedly and generally disastrously.  Sudden losses in life; but this is not fate, although a tendency.'  But in the coming Epoch we have for Neptune 'A man sitting at a table with a carving knife, about to carve a feast lying before him' showing that we can be 'fond of good living and fortunate in the things of the world.'

Saturn previously was represented by 'fireworks exploding in  mid-air over a crowd,' popularity which is soon over.  Did friends disappear quickly?  Beginning Monday we have instead 'A crown and scepter:'  'One who is entitled to more than he possesses, and who has powers of which he is unconscious.'

Voila!
