Challenge: Pisces is a sweet, tolerant, loving sign at its best, but even the moon's presence there, plus its ruler Neptune, does not solve all problems because it sometimes has to deter 'hidden foes,' being the natural 12th house of the zodiac. So we have 'a dark cloud passing over a part of the earth. It is charged with elemental shapes, most hideous and repulsive.' Charubel warns that this could be 'dabbling in black magic, which would terminate in utter ruin.' Evil magic begins, of course, by not realizing it is evil. To make this more explicit there is 'a dove lying upon the ground; over it a snake poised in an attitude of attack.' Sepharial says this can be 'worldly seductions' destroying domestic happiness and marital relations, perhaps through 'the influence of a subtle fascination or a secret attachment.' How many Netflix series have been based on a plot like that? If fiction reflects fact, then this stuff happens more than we realize; however, the script-writers over-dramatize it to the point of absurdity.
Process: 'A man pulling a rope ringing a bell at the top of a tree' is a gossip-monger, no doubt a supposedly trusted 'journalist' delivering the latest fake or tainted, unreliable 'news.' Defamation of character seems to be the name of the journalistic game (see the fantastic unearthing of all this by Glenn Greenwald, to whose newsletter I am a proud subscriber). At a more normal level, you might find yourself publicizing what seems important to you no matter how others view it. As for job or career, it might be muted for the moment, as if one were 'a Native American woman selling beads.' Detachment is good, and sufficiency is enough. This lady has a modest sinecure (unusual word) which keeps her going.
Blessing: At a higher level there could be more success than that, as if one were 'an alchemist at work in his laboratory; upon his table is much gold.' This is said to indicate patience, thrift, industry and inventive faculty which acquire wealth, but then one lives simply, like the Indian woman. Says Sepharial: "It indicates an eccentric vocation and success therein, so that one has more means at one's command than one requires.' And then what? Sharing one's knowledge, skill, or wisdom, perhaps, but this is not easy. 'An old man is attempting vainly to reveal the Mysteries.' He needs to share, somehow, yet finds that people have to learn in their own ways. He cannot give them a blood transfusion of knowledge and understanding. He has a high vision which is essential for those he wants to teach, but either lacks the technique for passing it on or they are incapable of getting it at this point. Nevertheless, he is pertinacious and perhaps thought-seeds planted shall one day bloom.
