Things are tough all over. Mercury is still very slow and is felt exactly as it was when it was retrograde. I am having constant difficulties and slowdowns and delays with financial matters and with technical computer matters. Changing a password, waiting too long for a payment because it's coming by check instead of ACH, and so on. The stock market has been horrible this whole week except for one day, with the S&P now down for the year. Headlines about trade wars with China and other stuff I don't care to read about, such as arrests of corrupt CEOs or whatnot. The caduceus of Hermes, when Mercury is in its Dark or Slow Epoch, is like two serpents fighting and tangling with each other to no discernible purpose. (Two Marine aircraft crashed into each other on Wednesday, sad.) But of course we need to learn to control all that, which is why it happens--it is supposed to be educative, say the gods.
We need to be alert to catch small opportunities, like "Sea gulls watching a ship."
Prosperity is not beyond everyone's reach, and the symbols of it are sometimes more evident than the substance of it, "A lady in fox fur." (I hope it's fake fur.) Mercury is very slowly moving forward and we have a New Moon so there is some surge of inward optimism.
The soul speaks through sound and music. The Christmas carols and songs don't get old for me. We can work up confidence in the goodness and integrity of all things, "A youth holding a lighted candle."
We need that because, as if "a person entering a dark tunnel," we are susceptible to backward tendencies stemming from confusion, some of that stemming from impatience--impertinent forwardness in pointless directions. Rather, the slow change in direction of Mercury could help us see into better paths. No matter what, some luxurious pleasures and treats are available.
