}Hammering What Tune?{

The fateful feeling in the air corresponds with Rosh Hashanah and the following ten solemn Jewish holy days of repentance. There are no less than six septiles (including bi- and tri-septiles) in the sky of our geocentrically observed solar system. This corresponds also with the G20 meetings and deliberations about Syria. I find it peculiar that the Washington administration is planning to go it completely alone with an unexplained bombing plan with no international support other than France and no support from its own people! Is Obama really, as the British pronounce his name, Obomber? I hope not. I suppose there is a chance that his plan or the plan of his military advisers really has some value, but to me that is highly questionable. More importantly, do we live in a democracy? Then why are our elected representatives, assuming they approve the bombing plan, going completely contrary to the expressed wishes of their constituents? Bribes from military contractors?

After the wayward comet does its work, a new day dawns. The focus on Uranus through the summer continues, and now also a T square with Pluto. Something unique ought to be happening in your life, and if it isn't, you are not very alive.

Sunshine everywhere portends something, but what? Sixteen possibilities. Do we recognize good fortune when it is upon us? The stresses mentioned above are there, but beyond them the pressure of something wonderful trying to emerge. (The G20 may be divided 16-4 on some issue.)

An archer is preparing to shoot either a dove or an eagle. War or peace? War as a means to peace (been there, done that, not again)? The archers are the nations and they want to kill the eagle of killing. But might miss and hit the dove of survival.

He tries to slay the aroused beast with a blunt mallet. Then finds the right way. Assad and other tyrants may be slain, that is, removed from power, but not with a broken or blunt instrument. The question is, are air strikes a blunt and broken instrument of peace? What then would be the appropriate "hammer of peace"? What say, Woody Guthrie?

The orphan is adopted by a beautiful woman who cares for doves. Orphanage might be freedom from parental control, but with a price. Orphans have done well in the world, but not without someone who cares. We are all spiritual orphans until we find our mothering guide.

A man sitting before a marble square turns his eyes to a manuscript which casts a rope into the sky. The stress of learning requires a corrective view of material realities on one hand and cosmic harmonies on the other. Amazing ideas are coming to many, which will gain support or correction by outward miracles or imbroglios; trial, error, retrial.

A knight of the field gazes at starry constellations and feels sure of his victory. Defending the right requires assurance that what looks right is right. We use what we can in this endeavor--prayer most of all, combined with spiritual study, and for some, divination such as horary astrology. The Muslim world has had its astrologers--over the centuries--I wonder where they are now? FDR and Ronald Reagan used astrologers, as did, it is said, Hitler. Al Morrison the brilliant astrologer said in his class that astrologers had been used by some American officers in World War II to suggest the most compatible duties for soldiers and officers. The world is a more remarkable place than the New York Times imagines.

Meanwhile we await the day when "the stars in their courses fighting against Sisera" will bring the end of war forever. "If I had a hammer . . . "

}Prayer-Informed Victory?{

Fateful times, but not necessarily in a negative way. There are no less than seven septile-based aspects (by the allowed two-degree orb) and that is rare. Marc Edmund Jones's keyword for them is "fatality." That does not mean death but something fateful, in the cards, not to be escaped. Of course, what "cannot be escaped" is not something evil--that can always be escaped if one's karma and attitude permit. It is something that has to happen to bring out whatever one's karma and attitude have created. It could be called "ripe karma." Further, there is a Grand Square, which can mean "too much on my plate" so that one has to cut back activities to the essential, and take care of those thoroughly. It is interesting that all this is going on during the G20 Summit.

A comet crashes into the earth and destroys a seaport. Coming and going are not easy because of complexities and hindrances. Effacement of one objective means another must be chosen.

A man laboriously turns a huge anchored wheel north to south, then west to east. Many twisting  the wheel of the world's karma-dharma are meeting in St. Petersburg. Let us hope St. Peter is there to guide them in consideration of four major issues.

In a reconnaissance plane, sightseeing trumps strategy. It is to be hoped that escapism is not the chosen route. Reflection and deliberation are good, but some immediate choices need to be made based on what one has seen, rather than scattering one's aim.

Beneath a tree laden with fruit, Samson wins another contest. Conquest can come through power, or through intelligence and industriousness. What good are battles unless they support the orchards which sustain all with fruitfulness and vintage? Economic competition is better than warfare.

An orphaned child wanders into a group of  businessmen drinking festively. Children need support, from parents if possible, from non-parents otherwise. Perhaps the men at the G20 Summit will think of their children and children's children to inform their decisions. Their festive association with one another could yield mutual advantages successfully.

A general studies a tome on strategy while a soldier's drill evokes fear of death. Military action involves deaths. Let none forget that. Who are the merchants of death and why should anyone listen to them or buy their death-dealing inventions and schemes? A more profound study of economics and demography could lead to non-military solutions.

A refugee finds  shelter in a cottage 'neath a cedar tree and reassuring constellations. This can happen if the world cares enough. Already the people of Lebanon are sheltering tens of thousands from Syria; if that proportion entered the U. S. it would be 40,000,000 new people for us to support. We cannot even imagine what it is to live in these war-torn nations. How to make things better rather than worse for them is not an easy question but needs serious consideration--and serious not casual prayer. Perhaps if Muslims and Christians learned how to pray together, miracles could happen.
