Relationships
and friendships look better than during the previous period, though
they are still under strain. What was said about Mars and Venus in a
square two periods ago is still true: expecting too much from people,
therefore being disappointed, while also being disappointed with
oneself; rather than taking things as they come. The moon in Pisces
gives a somewhat mystical trend, a broad toleration of various kinds of
people, though with the other aspects in force you may have to stretch
yourself a little to do that.
There is a warning connected with
the sun's now-exact opposition with Uranus. It can be wrong-headed, a
tendency to drop, give up, or radically change your approach when that
makes things worse. If you don't see that in yourself, you may see it in
others, as well as the following, from C. E. O. Carter (written about
those who have this in their birth-charts, but applicable in some degree
to most everyone now): "Vanity, morbid sensitiveness, and
wrong-headedness of every kind characterize this class of aspects: if
the native is a genius, it will rob him of many of the rewards of
genius; if he is capable he will still, by some foolish act, destroy the
fruits of his own work, perhaps after much labour and effort. Even if
he is personally amiable, he will still be stubborn, misguided, and
fickle. The views, interests, and pursuits are likely to be completely
changed, abruptly and often frequently." So, whatever is really good for
you you had better stick with! Instead of dropping it, you can bring
more originality and freshness (Uranian gifts) into it, making it more
interesting than it was.
The continuing trine of Mercury and
Jupiter is good for business decisions and connections, for dealing with
agents, and for publishing whether conventionally or on the Internet.
Of course it will be affected by the foregoing considerations, but if
you are calm and cool about it, emphasizing what you can do on your own
rather than in intense cooperation with others, something good could
develop. People are being careful about money, and that care could
translate into wise decisions.
Oracle for Aspirants
The
severity of life is sometimes hard to understand. It might help to
think what things would be like if you never had to work and were
supplied with everything you wanted. It might be hard to visualize that,
but if you could, I think you would realize that life with no challenge
or effort would ultimately become tasteless, and probably sooner than
expected. So, during this period, it is wise to realize that hard labor
has a magnificent purpose and is not your enemy. You might resent the
fact that "others" are requiring or directing your labors. Yet in some
ultimate sense these "others" are yourself, for while they require this
from you you are subconsciously cooperating with them. By putting
yourself into your work (which is in fact "yours") with solid
self-government, you are earning rewards which are sure to come.
Another
tendency in you resists the above and wants easy pleasure. It is an
unstable quality which wants to drift with whatever passions and desires
surge up to carry you in this direction or that. It is thrill-seeking.
Erotic impulses want to rule. How far can these be indulged, and how far
must they be restrained? This of course is for you to decide; it is
merely my duty to point out that there are dangers. Drinking could be a
danger, or anything which happens near water or a swimming pool. A
moment's thrill could reverse something you have achieved.
Someone
close to you physically could explode and do something which hurts you.
This of course does not have to happen if you are careful and, might I
add, prayerful. The best protection is spiritual protection. People may
be so filled with desire and passion that they lose control of
themselves, drop something, spill something, or give up and symbolically
fall to the ground or cause someone else to do that. The "giving up"
could also be because they lose awareness temporarily, and therefore
control. Even 20-year-olds can lose their mental powers temporarily, as
helplessly as an oldster with dementia. This is when they are so filled
with passion, desire, or anger at frustration that they "lose it."
It
would be far better to turn these passions and desires in a spiritual
direction. How is that possible? It is not an easy question. It could be
said that this is something the human race has been working on for
millennia and will work on for millennia more. Only so much is possible
for a given individual. Most have to go with the basic pattern of the
race. We consider the best of that to be a solid marriage with a family
cared for responsibly. This is not possible, or even desirable, for
everyone. Then there are the spiritual aspirants who put their
devotional seeking above everything. That too may have perils, but is
definitely the best path for some. Some become secretive, devoted to
occult or mystical study. Again there are perils, for some take this as a
short cut to insanity. But the real mystic or occultist could become a
real magician, that is, one who wields spiritual forces for the benefit
of others primarily, himself secondarily.
Which means, again,
labor. It comes with birth; the crying baby is laboring at something
invisibly. And one magical secret is that giving up on labor hastens
death. One can put one's precious passions and desires into the efforts,
making them more enjoyable. At some point this may not be as much
physical as mental and spiritual labor, yet physical efforts also are
important to health way into old age. But I am not whipping or goading
you. All this is your work for you.
