~Adrift or Sweetly Awake~

Moon in Cancer
|Karmically sobering or challenging third| of this week remains until very early Friday
The New Moon of Cancer occurs at 7:49p PT | 10:49p ET | 2:49a(F) UT

There is definitely a "retreat mode." The sun and moon in Cancer are touchy and reclusive at times, though desiring much affection; afraid that it will be denied and so holding back. Further, the moon in its last gasp before the New tonight makes for retreat, or a need to be alone or get extra rest. (I have noted over the years that in the final days of a lunar cycle I often fail to do my daily physical exercises, though sometimes I force myself.)

Yet you are likely to feel that you have power within yourself and that you can get others to "obey" or carry out some of your wishes. Obeying someone one respects grants strength to command others.

There can be intimacies developing in unusual ways even if timidly, "A colored child playing with white children."

True kindness stems from understanding, such as what astrology provides those who study the charts of friends and relatives.

It is definitely wise to hold on to what one has, rather than become unstable by drifting into pointless paths. Hope and perseverance are needed to avoid a bad position:  "A waning moon, amid a bank of clouds, reveals a ship at sea, but all disabled." Rather, the ship could just need respite for a day or so while it regains its bearings.

Not all is bleak; "Beautifully gowned wax figures" or striking human bodies may be redolent of the past and impact you in a way which invigorates romance or friendship.

To live a useful life is, ultimately, to be successful. There is good fortune in simple attention to basic responsibilities.

People will let down their defensive or apprehensive masks at times when they can relax with one another, even if briefly.
