Prosperity and success come slowly to the persistent, consistent, and faithful. Overeagerness does not get a reward but a slap on the behind.

Some smooth and easy pleasures accompanied by beauty, such as musical entertainment, could relax people and lift moods.

Well-known individuals may relax with you in the workplace while chatting about personal economies.

Creative passion is channeled into locations, that is, making them more orderly and serviceable.

Questioning authority is a tendency while Mercury is square Uranus. You expend yourself gladly along unconventional lines, wanting to be where "the action" is whatever it is, something like following firetrucks. You like to be the one noticed when you turn up unexpectedly.

}Luxuriation{

Although we're in the Via Combusta, when things seem bleaker than they really are, and when bad choices can be made, the moon in Libra forms trines with Jupiter and Neptune in Aquarius and Mercury in Gemini, so there is a breeziness and willingness to communicate in pleasing ways. Perhaps mild depression in people will make them want to talk or find casual companionship.

Things could be more disturbing after the moon goes void of course at 3:00p PT | 6:00p ET | 10:00p UT. It might be that you feel adrift and unable to make any intelligent choices. Well then, you could (a) look out the window (this is not to be despised, the clouds and trees can be a meditation, it is a link with nature at least), (b) write a poem, (c) play with neighborhood kids in the back yard (does anybody do that any more? probably not), (c) listen to music if it is really music you love, or . . . anything your deep soul wants. Having no agenda might be the best agenda.

As I write on Monday, the moon in Libra has produced breaking news along two major lines: (1) the Supreme Court sided with the firemen who felt they had been discriminated against and (2) Bernard Madoff was sentenced to (in effect) life in prison. Of course Libra is the sign of courts, lawyers, and the justice system. When the moon is there such matters can become important.

But Sunday when the moon was in Virgo, sign of animals, a 12-year-old boy in Colorado who rode a bull in a rodeo was stomped to death when he fell off the animal. As you know if you are attentive to these forecasts, that was during the ||difficult third of the week. Mars is in Taurus, the sign of the bull. The boy (Mars) was controlled by the bull (Taurus). Further, most likely the moon was void of course (in Virgo) when this happened. When the moon is both void of course and it is the ||difficult third of the week, very bad things can happen (the events of 9/11/09 are an example).

Bernard Madoff is also a bull, sun-sign Taurus (his birthday is April 29, 1938). Mars and Venus in his sign are squaring Jupiter and Neptune now. Venus and Jupiter are at the ends of Taurus and Aquarius, respectively, very close to where they were in his natal chart. Venus square Jupiter is said to be exorbitant, careless of commitments, self-indulgent (and often charming). It is interesting that these two planets are forming the same square, in the same signs, that they formed the day Madoff was born. I think the reason this is critical for him is that Mars is also there (with Venus and squaring both Jupiter and Neptune). C.E.O. Carter, one of the best astrological writers ever, said that Mars squared or opposed to Jupiter was, in his observation, perhaps the worst astrological aspect. That is not what I would have said, but often events bear out Mr. Carter's sagacity. The aspect seems to have to do with "falls" literally or metaphorically. Not only did Madoff "fall" today but the head of state of Honduras. I knew a woman who fell off a horse and was seriously injured when Mars was square Jupiter in her progressions. The boy killed yesterday fell off a bull.

On Tuesday we might try to live up to the good side of Venus in Taurus, which is charm, concord, beauty, easygoing links with nature and human beings. Her sextile with Uranus promotes this. It might happen close to home, or in your workplace, when you are serving in humble ways.

Sometimes giving up, submitting to fate, is a great release. It's that kind of day.

Strong, noble, generous individuals are much in your thoughts and perhaps visible to you. Their vitality and good will is inspiring.

Wise financial decisions are bearing good fruit.

Linking with people in friendly ways enhances your prosperity and satisfaction as well as your career. Entertaining people in a place that is either your own or feels like your own gives you a sense of luxury and security.

The ||difficult third of the week (now falling on weekends) did not end until Sunday evening at 8:33p PT | 11:33p ET | 3:33a(M) UT.

On Monday we have a nice interlude before the moon, now in Libra, enters the Via Combusta (second half of Libra and first half of Scorpio) in the evening at 5:27p PT | 8:27p ET | 12:27a(Tu) UT. That position will afflict Tuesday and Wednesday, although there are other good aspects we will discuss in the reports for those days. For Monday, we have Prime Time until the moment just given.

That could mean this is a good time to look ahead over the week, decide what you want to accomplish, and do major things today, especially those requiring you to talk to people, communicate, get information, or make decisions or commitments.

There's some fascinating stuff going on concerning people at a distance to whom you are attracted; this could include travel plans. You also feel good being active at home, putting things in more pleasant order. Your personality is boosted when your domicile is more pleasing.

You are quite eager for things you want. This might be a good shopping day. You will choose with quick certainty and elegant refinement. You might even go on a spending spree.

You feel much pride which, when justified, makes you kingly or queenly.

You are alert to what is going on in people's lives, like a good detective or lawyer. This is not just gossipy or nosey but a manifestation of your care for those who interest you.

\The Slow Patient Approach/

We're in the heart of the ||difficult third of the week, concluding late Sunday. If you sense crisis it may involve digging into more challenging aspects of your household living, preparing yourself for a test as it were.

It is well to emphasize more basic and humble things you can do to get your world in order. Ambition today is a mistake. Humility will win.

You will gain much appreciation for your skills and virtues, but paradoxically, the less you boast of your attainments and the more you focus on "just doing it" the more you will be valued. You might think of people as brothers or sisters. The sibling relationship is pretty much based on equality rather than hierarchy.

You will be alert to the danger of idleness. There is much to do and when you "get on it" you immediately feel better.

If there is mental work you need to do, something scholarly or technological (two quite different branches of "mental work" as it were), you'll benefit by seeing it as a game you don't need to win, as long as you try, and enjoy the process.

There is a supply of everything you need to feel competent and at peace. You can train yourself to pull yourself back, and then up, whenever you feel at sea momentarily; back, you see where you are in the overall process of the day or month; up, you're randy to sail on and get things finished.

Travel plans seem to be shaped up pretty well, although at times you wonder about them. There are standards you want to maintain wherever you go and you don't want to fail at that. As soon as there is community of feeling things move on more smoothly.

Mars trine Saturn ((June 8 through July 6) is helping you construct your immediate future in a careful way, avoiding waste of energy and choosing what will fit into your long-range scheme of action. This helps you avoid wasting money on things you will later consider foolish. Today is not a good shopping day. It is better to use what you have in a solid reliable way. Putting order in things at home is an excellent use of your time.

So far this reading seems, like all work and no play, to be making Jack a dull boy. Fortunately the cosmos provides the moon's trines with Mars and Venus, increasing through late afternoon and evening, to mellow things. Venus forming a sextile with Uranus (June 22--July 10) expands your circle of friends, although today that is close to home. When one link collapses, another one forms. The ||difficult third of the week begins at 9:36a PT | 12:36p ET | 4:36p UT, extending through the weekend until late Sunday evening. You can have happy times, but subdued and often subordinated to practical matters you want to get done. Since we are in the Bright Hermetic Epoch, the latter can go efficiently as long as you keep at them and buck up your moods.

Today the moon forms a sextile with the sun in the afternoon and evening, so you may escape the blues when you focus on little things you want to straighten out, perhaps the more trivial the better, because the moon in Virgo helps you care about essential details and kick the devil out of them.

When you are thrifty and industrious the world, including neighbors and community, cooperates with you. Sharing material activities in simple ways stabilizes everyone.

Real estate, housing, rentals or mortgages will be important to many today. You are thinking ahead of yourself, and that is good during the Bright Epoch, because your mind can move ahead with intelligent plans even if you can't actualize some of them yet. Where to live and when and how can get wise attention. That could include travel plans. If you are content where you are, then this will be attention to living conditions at home.

You are extremely aware of the possibility of sloth and laziness and trying to overcome them. That is all to the good. Your skills are real, but you can too easily let others carry burdens you could lift with them. Pride is involved. First, your pride prevents you from doing things you think are others' duties. You'll be exalted when in touch with nature. If you rarely spend time outdoors, you might benefit from doing that deliberately. Yard work would be good. Walking in a pleasant natural setting, also, although I admit that during the ||hard third of the week there tends to be more rainy or overcast weather than usual. Organizing food resources (but not overeating!) and all the stuff in your garage, workshop, or kitchen will do you good. Pleasures happen without planning when you have finished something practical.

*Unfrenzied Competition*

It's a day of Prime Time, although the moon's aspects are bumpy. That could be a blessing if it gets you moving in certain areas where you have been delaying. Now is a good time to get started with those plans you have been putting on hold.

With the moon square Mars and Venus, people may be envious of one another. Whom do you envy? It's a natural human tendency, although the Scriptures say "Thou shalt not covet," a commandment only saints have been able to observe. In ordinary human psychology, wanting to have as much as someone else could be healthy if it inspires toward intelligent, ethical activity. If it degenerates into contempt for those who seem luckier, of course it produces ill results, even on one's health. So the trick is to be inspired toward useful competition rather than envy.

It's satisfying to see how honest, reliable people, including someone you like, can triumph just through being honest and reliable. So you feel happy about someone, partner or friend.

An outburst or tantrum you observe could awaken to hard issues you have been avoiding. Awareness that one has failed in one way or another can be devastating. Recovering with dignity is better than bursting out with rage.

We all have our biases, although we struggle to be objective. When you feel discriminated against you could be indignant. Maybe the one discriminating against you feels you have been discriminating against him or her.

Traditional wisdom seems challenged when you feel it is failing. Or perhaps you are the one challenged by it. People in the conservative wing of your associates might appreciate something simple to reassure them you care.

Sensing fresh possibilities is easier than realizing them, which requires originating activity and response, but you can do both.

Competing with yourself is best. Then everyone will respect you. Whereas competing with others could (a) agitate yourself unhelpfully and (b) provoke resentment.

The moon in Leo is usually cheery and confident, and since we have Prime Time from the time of that ingress (9:51a PT | 12:51p ET | 4:51p UT) through the rest of the day (and tomorrow), the afternoon at least could be good for forward momentum and wise choices.

You want to be free to attend to what pleases yourself, yet can accomplish things at home and in your job, perhaps somewhat lackadaisically.

Peculiar interests of your own you keep private, since you have learned that no one understands them when you attempt to communicate or explain them.

The problems of people you have to deal with, as well as of a partner, may explode into harsh or petulant dramatization. This could be "acting out" on a disturbing scale. However, your psychic rapport with the individuals exploding can prevent anything destructive, so that the crisis stimulates and helps you move forward.

Brooding is likely while Mercury approaches a square with Saturn. You observe how confused and "wrong" people can be, whether you are seeing that accurately or it is merely your perspective on them. So you may feel hurt or grieved, yet could clarify issues by confronting them honestly.

Traditions which other people find helpful may be helpful to you just because they are a social link enabling you to interact, regardless of their initial value in your estimation.

A lot can be facilitated in your home or neighborhood, such as (duh) housework, clean-up, etc. (of course I need to take my own advice). This could be relatively painless and even enjoyable if you think of somewhat romantic scenarios it makes possible.

President Obama,

It is my duty to inform you that your campaign in Afghanistan is a mistake.

When I heard you talk about “winning” in Afghanistan and capturing or killing Osama bin Laden, I felt sick at heart. That was last summer. I was worried and even felt I could not support you. I did decide to vote for you (for completely other reasons).

But I cannot support the killing of civilians by “drone” planes. That is cowardice. A man who cannot look his supposed enemy in the eye, but kills him with poison gas or a drone plane, unpiloted, is despicable.

Please try to restore our faith in our country. We are not evil, cowardly, or despicable people.

And so how can we support evil, cowardly and despicable policies?

You are not winning the hearts and minds of the people of Afghanistan or Pakistan or anywhere by these hideous missions which kill people at random.

I try to inform myself about what “we” are doing over there. I do not want innocent blood on my hands because I voted for you.

So I read the newspapers and try to understand what “we” are doing in Afghanistan.

And I have to tell you: It makes no sense to me at all. The more details I read, the more chaotic and pointless it seems.

Who is the enemy? Do you know? Have you met him? Last year's enemy, this year's; last month's, or this month's; last week's, or this week's? Which tribe, or combination of tribes? Which leader or leaders? Do you really know who and where they are? And how do you count the new enemies you make, and balance them on a table against the old ones you have killed? When you miss a commander you aim at and kill his nephew instead, as you did last week, who can measure the new rage against America with which he and his relatives will be possessed until their dying day?

How is angering and outraging the people of those mountainous regions going to protect America?

Please reconsider. You say you are a Christian. So am I, that is, I try to understand the teachings of Jesus, every day, by studying a chapter of the Gospels every morning. After doing that today, and praying, I had to write you this letter.

In the name of our Lord Christ Jesus, please reconsider your policies in Afghanistan.

Where there is a will there is a way for nonviolent answers. If we trust God and ask His guidance, we will find them.

~Mysterious Goings-On Precede Transformation~

The New moon of Cancer occurs at 12:36p PT | 3:36p ET | 7:36p UT. This means that Summer has officially begun, since the Solstice was close to midnight at the beginning of Sunday.

The moon is void of course in Gemini from 5:21a PT | 8:21a ET | 12:21p UT until 10:13a PT | 1:13p ET | 5:13p UT when it enters Cancer (approaching the sun). That's about five hours when you could give yourself extra leeway in getting the week in gear. Two hours after the time just given the ||difficult third of the week ends and we have Prime Time.

There are mysterious factors to cope with while the sun opposes Pluto. I am amazed at how accurately Robert Pelletier delineates this aspect. Just think about the situation in Iran as you read the following from him, as well as your own situation: "This aspect shows that you are defensive when challenged by others. In competition you resort to extreme measures to guarantee winning." Of course this is what the ruling clerics are doing in Iran, and of course they see their opponents as doing exactly the same thing. "You generally assume that your opponent has more power than you and that your own position is insecure." Yes, for both sides, and we don't know how it will end at this point. Pelletier continues: "Nothing bothers you as much as being unsure of a situation . . . Your extremist temperament may alienate you from those whose cooperation you need to shore up your own defenses."

Then he turns to another aspect of the aspect: "You may be preoccupied with sex and its power as a lever against others. Be careful that you don't hurt yourself in the process." Finally, "At some point you will undergo great changes and psychological realignment. At that time you will be able to stand alone, fully self-assured. If you tolerate others rather than resent them for threatening you, you will realize that you have the authority to accomplish your objectives independently." Difficult but wise words.

Your work requires patience. If things seem against you, this is a temporary phenomenon.

You could cultivate beauty around you through gardening or house-keeping to lift your mood.

International investment could help you, as well as attending to needs at home, looking toward the harvest of your efforts prudently.

Cleverness and skill in negotiation or bargaining or finding bargains are quite possible when you identify what you need. You could shop for items required for your work as well as others which provide entertainment. You see how to use the no-nonsense side of the business world for your happy purposes.

You may end the day by realizing you possess more than you thought. There is luck in financial and other transactions, so that your hopes are lifted.

Younger people are trying for the resolution of clinging difficulties the older generation does not know how to resolve because it is stuck in dysfunctional habit-responses. I wish them well. This is true everywhere as well as in Iran. Youth is a treasure to itself but to the elderly also.

What Nature wants from you and what you want may seem different; yet when you find your true nature this will no longer be so.

This is the first day of the ||difficult third of the week; tomorrow (Sunday) is the second and we will be out of it by Monday.

I recommend reading serious books on philosophy, religion, astrology, or other deep topics. The iPhone and television and Internet will still be there after you have taken a well-deserved vacation from them. The world is much larger than the 21st century and what has transpired in it so far. "The world" is a temporal world and not just a spatial world. The history of inspired thinkers is a treasure. There is always something new to be found in the old.

Murder is wrong, and the death penalty is wrong. Both are wrong.

You may feel you have a hard life. All of us feel that about certain things, and on certain days; this is likely to be one of them. Nevertheless, you are getting worthwhile career and business ideas.

If you have prepared yourself for a leadership role, you may feel a responsibility to continue with it when people misunderstand, even though there is a temptation to resent that and throw in the towel. The large man or woman can tolerate being misunderstood when a deeper issue is at stake. It helps to know that G*d understands.

There are so many things which need reforming! How do you decide where to put your energies? Some people don't care about reforms and "doing good," focusing on their personal interests instead. At least today you may be alert to certain individuals who are trying to enlist you for important causes, and you could respond in a positive way with a little of your time at least.

Another side of you wants to put your self-interest up there at the top in a sophisticated way, and that makes sense also. So you can ferret out ways of proceeding toward greater success in your field and perhaps better income.

Those who make books their friends are not always dull socially, but may be sought out and appreciated by those who sense their hidden wisdom.

\Friendship Exalted/

We have Prime Time all day, although the moon's forming squares with Neptune and Jupiter might make you somewhat confused about choices and values. Direct money decisions could be correct as long as too many overly hopeful subjective factors are not swaying you. The best time for making decisions of a practical sort could be up until 11a PT | 2p ET | 6p UT, while the moon's trine with Saturn in earth signs sharpens shrewd judgment. This could be the time to get as much business cleared away as possible before the weekend.

The tight conjunction of Venus and Mars in Venus's sign Taurus is erotic, no doubt. This can take peculiar hidden forms, whether hetero- or homo- sexual. At the same time, the trine of these two with Saturn suggests a fair, just, and kindly outlook on everyone who attracts you and who is attracted to you. So, when not directly erotic, this can be sorority, fraternity, and easy sharing.

A bit of sado-masochism is evident when Uranus gets randy, as he is now, pressured by squares on both sides from the sun and Pluto. This could be harmless sex-play or teasing. Let's make sure it doesn't get out of hand and hurt anyone. It is sad but true that the laws of karma allow people to make serious mistakes before they have to pay the price. You do not want to be the one who pays.

You can be yourself with strength, taking a shameless stand in your community.

There are issues around how to respond to people when their response to you seems crude or awkward. They may be aware of the issue and want to amend the situation but don't quite know how, so a certain tolerance, rather than angry vengeance, will help both of you to adjust to each other in a mild and civil if not friendly way.

The old and the fresh are being linked together in your mind. You love the traditions which sustain you, whether spiritual or familial. You want to renew them in a fresh way which keeps them relevant for the moment. This could involve communication with people at a distance.

Your skills are being sharpened. You are pleased with some ability you have developed. It is a core strength. You can be sophisticated and nonchalant about this, because of your confidence. So people will feel comfortable when you flaunt your prowess.

\Letting Friendliness Happen/

I said that Wednesday was the best day of the week (for both business and partying) and Thursday second. Now that I am immersing myself in Thursday's chart, I might amend this to say these two days are about equally good.

It's official: You must either go to a party, or visit a friend, or invite a friend over, or go to a concert or play or sporting event today or tonight! Or, it could be anything participatory such as a group meeting or discussion. And if you're reading this Wednesday, you could make that a rule for both days. Then stay home on the weekend and brood.

Business should be humming quite smoothly. Plans you make could be just right. We have Prime Time all day (as we did Wednesday).

What I would warn against is getting ahead of yourself, in your desires. Greed could be a problem, or greediness for certain things you lust after but do not need, which (after you pursue and grab) you find you really didn't want. That's an embarrassing development. I would say, look to beauties, glories, and advantages near at hand rather than far off, the ones you don't have to spend extra hours pursuing. They will fall to you. The others, if overambitious, would just make you fall.

I didn't want to say that, because the day is upbeat. Just wanted to help you avoid wasting time so you can get to what you'll really enjoy.

You are free to let your mind adhere to ancient knowledge through study. We are not prisoners of the 21st century. Despite our advancing technology, we are children when it comes to the Ancient Wisdom. A library with old dusty volumes might be better for you than your iPhone.

The violence perpetrated by the regime in Iran is a symbol of something many of us may be going through in our inner selves as nightmares. The basketball court, football field or baseball diamond are excellent replacements for the crudity of male violence as it has lodged in the male genetic code. It should be on the way out, except as (a) legitimate and real defense from real enemies (very rare these days) and (b) gamesmanship.

The problems of people, their hidden sufferings, are hard to understand but you may feel you are up against them. To actualize your hopes you need a depth approach, through depth psychology, at some point in your life, maybe now.

Traditions you value are upbeat, inspiring, edifying, and social in a large or even international context. By adhering to ideals you find your life has meaning and enhanced reality. (Reality is consciousness.)

This seems like an important day. Things are popping. You get ideas; you are on to something.

It may be the best day of the week for business. It may be the best for a good time with friends or strangers, perhaps in the evening. I would call it the best "party day" of the week, including the coming weekend. Thursday comes in at second place.

There are plenty of romantic notions in heads, and romantic feelings in hearts. So you can resonate freely with whoever attracts you.

The arts remain unusually significant or absorbing. You want beauty around you and can get it. Sometimes it may seem cheap or common, as commercial art, yet even then pleasing.

Associating with people, including older ones, in a humane and sensitive manner will secure benefits you didn't expect. All want to feel significant and interesting. This includes workers, clerks, wait-persons, and so on.

Radical ideas are afoot, not only in Iran where the old order may be (or ought to be) crumbling but in your brain when you care about anything enough to express your opinion. You don't want to compromise with those who just don't see what you see.

Shooting for the stars is what you feel like doing in your soul-nature. That doesn't mean space travel (what a bore, infinite blackness) but gambling a bit with your instincts as guide. As I write on Monday the protests in Iran over their presidential election are proceeding apace, and the moon is conjoining Uranus, the planet of revolution (in the metaphoric or mild sense usually). You may notice that the anger over the election and the arrests and beatings, which ought not to have happened, happened during the ||difficult third of the week as pointed out here. The election, of course, occurred during a Dark Hermetic Epoch (as did the disputed U.S. election of 2000). The sun is opposing Pluto, planet of entrenched and secretive power, which is in this case the clerics and other "good old boys" who have been ruling Iran in lieu of real democracy. They are perhaps being dragged out into the sunlight through this opposition, which illumines the dark corners. (Do you want yours to be made public?)

The moon in Aries gives us Prime Time after the ||difficult third of the week ends this morning at 5:56a PT | 8:56a ET | 12:56p UT. There should be a breath of fresh air, a feeling that things are under control, with the beginning of a Bright Hermetic Epoch (yesterday) extending until August 17. I am sorry, but your excuses are running out. You have a chance to shape your world as you wish.

Shrewdness enables you to detect what you need to do for wealth. It also points out your real friends. (It is better to assume someone is a real friend than the reverse, unless you are involved in foreign wars or intelligence operations, in which case you are probably doomed to become a paranoid schizophrenic.)

Many will be thinking of purchasing (or creating) art objects, while Venus and Mars remain in Taurus. Beauty and luxury reassure you that you are loved, or love yourself, or that the invisible spirits who love good art and well-appointed furnishings are with you.

We begin the Bright Hermetic Epoch today. However, we are still in the ||difficult third of the week until Tuesday at 5:56a PT | 8:56a ET | 12:56p UT.

As for the stock market, if you had invested when I said it would be a good time to invest, in April (check the archive and you will see that I gave that advice then) you would have gained from 20 per cent to 80 per cent on your investment in less than two months.

But now I am not so sure. These prices seem to most observers to be unsustainable for very long and there could be a downward trend, not based specifically on astrological aspects (which are complex right now) but on common sense plus the fact that "things change" at the beginning of a new Hermetic Epoch.

I am not making a prediction along those lines but suggesting that if you are an investor, examine your strategy carefully.

Monday itself is rather unpredictable; strange things may happen. You care about being relatively independent in your job area or career. This can make for unusual attempts to get behind the data you are dealing with and manipulate the future in ways you hadn't planned specifically until now, although always the present is an outcome of what you have pondered in the past.

There is a warning to beware of gross appetites, whether of the gourmand or sexually preying nature. You could lose your way, and lose in general, through such a drift toward decadence. But Mars and Venus trine Saturn give strength to control impulses. The arts are a superb sublimation of whatever urges are springing up within you. Creating beauty is a sublimated version of creating children.

There is so much you could do successfully which yet seems trivial when you consider it. Yet you can choose well. During the ||difficult third of the week the past tends to rule, that is, finishing old things is wise.

You are confronting the basic struggles of your life. We each have our karmic burden which seems to make our progress toward hopes slow. We each have our own way of coping with and understanding that. The struggle itself is productive of goodness.

Things you have wanted to purchase to thrill you may pale, as if you realized they were not what you "really" want. What do they symbolize to you? That is what you want. When you know that, then you will choose the right symbols.

Nature calls to you, if not as romanticized then as directly experienced. What does it "mean"? It is Nature, our mother.

Items for the home may seem desirable, and some may be, if you examine possibilities well through shopping. The Internet indeed makes that easier, although sometimes browsing in stores is more pleasing. Secret sexual or romantic desire is loaded into everything you think you want to purchase. When you become aware of this you may make better choices.

You may find yourself self-indulgent. Rather than spank yourself for that, you could get to the bottom of it in other ways, such as using the urge toward indulgence a little more creatively to make things. Mars and Venus are in Taurus, an esthetically creative sign. Arts and crafts, whether material or mental, are a thrilling and satisfying pursuit.

The ||difficult third of the week begins with a mild whimper, nothing overly dramatic because other lunar aspects are good and improving way into the evening. It probably will mean an undercurrent of concern or a little defeatism to conquer.

It lasts from Saturday at 11:42a PT | 2:42p ET | 6:42p UT through Sunday and Monday until Tuesday at 5:56a PT | 8:56a ET | 12:56p UT. (It's a little longer than usual because of the moon's slower speed.)

You are thinking of people at a distance and how they interact with you. There is a lazy trend about this, as if you didn't really care, yet you do, but not intensely. So you might let such connections drift.

The trine of the sun with Jupiter and Neptune is wonderful. You feel good about your finer sensibilities, how to direct them toward individuals who are partners in some field of study or research. You may consider travel and how it might work out or, if traveling now, find routes and connections smoother than they have been in weeks. Cultural elegance is your ambience. You appreciate your own friendship.

Uncertainties are partly financial and partly a matter of not wasting time on inessentials. You could cut to the chase when it comes to necessary details of your current situation and feel better when you have cleaned the mud off your boots (so to speak).

}Intellectual and Material Largesse{

We have Prime Time all day. The Bright Hermetic Epoch does not begin until Monday. You can forward your plans anyway, but I would say, go slow when things are uncertain.

Here's an example: On Tuesday I decided I needed, desperately, a big-ticket item and went out in the evening to buy it. It was Prime Time except for the Dark Hermetic Epoch (with us since the middle of April). I was rushed to buy the item before the Target store closed. So I struggled toward a decision and spent almost $500 on the item and brought it home. Trying it out that evening, I became convinced after an hour or so that it wasn't right. Of course I had made sure that there was a definite return policy (Target is good at that) so I took it back the next morning. Then I went to Best Buy and found something which seemed more desirable for about half the price. I brought it home yesterday but had so much else to do that I haven't even tried it yet. I'll know tonight whether I made another mistake or not.

This kind of thing is typical, as every astrologer knows, of Mercury retrograde. The reason I discovered the Hermetic Epochs was that repeatedly, over 20 years, I found that things did not get smoother right away when Mercury turns direct (as it did May 31) but remained chaotic or uncertain for a couple weeks at least. The key is the speed of Mercury, for one thing, and second its place in its four-month cycle. I use both factors, and according to my discovery the Bright Epoch begins Monday the 15th.

So, I have repeatedly said here, Be careful about big-ticket items or major decisions or contracts. You'll be surer next week. (In this case, I felt I had little choice because I felt I needed the item right away. Actually, however, I could have done without it.)

Indecision is not always a mistake. Waiting is sometimes the best policy. This does not, however, apply to things in which you are heavily involved on a daily basis; obviously they need to be maintained without flagging. These are the things I usually label "routine" in these reports. Even they can be modified or made easier during the Dark periods, often, but not abandoned.

Friday looks fairly upbeat. There is mental or intellectual activity. Your vision is getting clearer.

Another part of you wants to relax in peace and contentment, either with friends literally or with them in spirit. This could be quite blissful especially in the evening.

The part of you which is weak will feel despondent and find excuses for avoiding most everything. The spiritual or philosophic truths you accept can help you rise toward intelligent (but not frenetic) activity.

Crudity in certain people, perhaps neighbors, can be faced better if you think of them as in a long-term learning process. Some of us call this "spiritual evolution," which can be much more rapid, in an individual sense, than ages-long physical evolution as defined by geneticists. When people refuse to learn as quickly as the cosmos wishes they would, they are removed from the scene.

Your capabilities are surprising along lines in which you have specialized. Realizing this can be invigorating.

Immediate things to which you want to attend include travel plans as well as education. You may consider a course of learning or else your own "course" designed carefully with yourself as student and teacher. Or you may consider how to teach others. When you realize what you want to do along such lines, you get right at it.

Prosperity you are enjoying is a happy symbol of what you want to share with the world in your own way. So there is generosity, even on an international level.

The energy you feel is somewhat sexual, yet transcends mere sensuality.

There is such a thing as crudity in attempted communications from people. They are trying for a certain something beyond their abilities and can only do or say what they can do or say. There is no point in judging them harshly. Ignorance and stupidity often cannot be overcome except through many lifetimes of growth.

You can persuade anyone to click with your more basic hopes when you communicate in a winning manner.

There are benefits from adhering to certain traditions, whether religious or social. They bring you strength from unsuspected sources. Allies are a wonderful thing.

How you share with friends indicates your social, and therefore spiritual, consciousness. You can give perhaps more than you thought. Giving honestly and wisely, or graciously and freely, brings reward inevitably.

It can't be denied that there are wonderful pleasures available. You could perhaps make this a party day, or a time to be with someone you love, or if alone to put forth talents in a way that will get recognition. You are appreciated for what you know, say, and do.

It's a day of quite clear sailing for most ordinary purposes, at least until the moon goes void of course (in Capricorn, after its trine with Mercury in Taurus) at 8:32p PT | 11:32p ET | 3:32a(Th) UT. Before that we have Prime Time.

The simplicity of country living might be felt or experienced even in urban settings. When appreciating the simple value of what you do, you don't mind temporary limiting inconveniences. 

While we slowly escape from our sun's square with Saturn (as viewed from the earth), we may feel constrained in ways which are dispiriting at times. It's a matter of submitting willingly to limits you can't avoid for the time being. These could be connected with neighbors, as well as the business world. Yet the sun moves toward a trine with Jupiter and Neptune, very satisfying (exact early next week at the beginning\ of the Bright Hermetic Epoch). So things are moving toward happier resolution.

There is pleasure in color, with humane instincts in multiple human associations, each "tribe" or type of individual showing forth her or his loyalties and talents. This can be going on even when you feel dour or sour, so you could tune in to it and feel better.

You might be able to persuade someone who has been reclusive or self-involved to "come out" and be more sociable in a more public place.

You are aware, when honest, that you possess far more than you thought you had (in recent more bleak periods) and so can feel secure in your position, appreciating your ability to invite people to visit you, or share your skills lavished upon them.

Anything like a lack of support for ambitions or career goals can be easily transmuted into sustainment for those very things. You see beyond limits to what is possible, when you let your imagination and ingenuity loose. Then you have luck pushing forward, even if progress is slow.

Realism is wonderful, as is imagination; they can work together as the two halves of the brain. You emerge into the sunlight of a happier time when you appreciate and use the bounty of nature and your own nature. Then head and heart, linked in harmony, gravitate toward hopes enjoying every portion of the way.

The moon in Capricorn trine Saturn is good for basic reliable business. We have Prime Time so decisions are likely to be well-founded, although if you have doubts about anything major it might be good to wait for the Bright Hermetic Epoch with us from June 15 (Monday) through August 16. (Palm Pre or latest version of i-phone almost released? I am trying to decide.)

When you feel cooped up at home you may resent certain people including friends who seem to have abandoned you, or lament the disintegration of hopes along one line or another. A holding-and-waiting mode is better than any action inspired by anger.

Talents you haven't been using very effectively are fructifying and almost startle when they burst forth colorfully.

Older people are not boring when they decide to let their colorful pasts and still-alive hopes impel them toward pleasing association not only with themselves but younger folk.

You have an ability to do without the superficial. You might be glad to retreat where you can study, think, ponder, write, create, make something or otherwise develop something of your own. Steadiness in such things can evoke a slow magic which rewards faithfulness to silent ideals.
