I just posted to X that we need to be aware of Mercury remaining retrograde. That goes on until the 25th, but people including astrologers keep forgetting about it and wonder why things are so hard or upsetting or confusing. Blame Mercury! Or rather, blame our failure to notice, work with, and master the Mercury-retrograde phenomenon which happens three times every year. To look at it too anthropomorphically, it appears that the Mercurial or Hermetic demons are determined to find out our weaknesses and use them to trip us up. 

I find that juggling all the things I am supposed to do in the course of a day is hard. Information seems bollixed and I don't trust the way any news medium reports or balances the news. Just now at this very moment a neighbor started playing some irritating and unmusical instrument to annoy me. And so on. I have been getting up at unusual hours of the night to take baths. People make weird or insulting posts on X. I try various new ways of writing these daily reports and am not sure if they are helping anyone. I know someone who has canceled links with his mother. People text, call or visit at inconvenient times. Sometimes it feels that rest or sleep is all one wants.

All this is a hallmark of Mercury retrograde. It is the single most obvious and telling indication in all of predictive astrology, as I see it. (But people with Mercury retrograde in their birth charts can have normal lives. The alchemy of the aspect works differently in that case.)

The other bugaboo now could be Mars conjoined to Saturn. These are the two "malefic" planets and challenge us to live up to our standards. We are trying to do that while Mercury pulls the rug out from under our attempts. This aspect can be lack of sympathy, kindness, or good humor, and discord in the environment. But it increases executive ability and ambition. In Pisces, it can be efforts behind the scenes for which one gets little credit, but that could be a soul-necessity in the working out of karma and dharma.

On Tuesday the moon in Taurus is helpful, for that is the sign of its exaltation. We respond to ideals which are both familiar and useful. Many could be faithful, sentimental or affectionate. Luna sextile Mars and Saturn could be good for business. For health one should conserve vital forces. Young males or elderly persons of either sex may be helpful.

The Borelli-Sepharial symbol for the sun's degree-position is "A strong and prosperous-looking man stands with arms extended forward, holding in his hands a bowl full of wine." This is someone (or yourself) generous and hospitable, conscious of his or her own merits and desirous of recognition; steadfast, sincere, and respected by friends.
