Mortar. An acute mind resolves things into principles.

Outside a tree is felled and sawed for the sake of

Immediate practical well-being, with joy in energy

Expended. Meanwhile one old tree-trunk is hollow and

Covered with moss, its owner a romantic outliving

The rest of the family. In the distance looms The Great

Stone Face, aligned with eternal reality,

An image to which the constant beholder shapes 

His being to make a discerning impact on events.
