\Strife + Analysis = Peace?/
'Two men in fierce strife' are aggressive and quarrelsome. Some minds are 'at war with prevailing opinions and popular beliefs, creating discord wherever they go, a sorry test to men of humane and benevolent dispositions. He does not admit the truth even to himself but opposes all and everything on whatever ground is open to debate.'
And so the more 'benevolent ones' may discern 'a man unmasked. They 'penetrate into the deeper stirrings and underlying motivations of human nature.' 'Each person must make a public accounting of himself whenever the general welfare requires it. Life becomes a laboratory for an immortal curiosity.' The keyword is Analysis.
Many, despite the previous paragraphs, may be calm and thoughtful, genial and sunny, with smooth and tranquil manners, like 'A wide open seascape on which are distant sailing boats.' When roused to anger, however, they are irresistible. There is a taste for travel, with 'interests in distant lands.' (It seems that this reading is pointing to Tucker Carlson's Russian adventure and discussion with Vladimir Putin.) The keyword is Complacence.
Who in all this is the 'man of peace'? The Biden administration claims to be that, but its acts belie the claim. Some are seeing that Putin may be more likely to take the lead in peace negotiations. 'Two swords form a cross lying on the ground. A man stands on them with a scepter pointing heavenward.' This is 'a person of peace; one who confides in the higher power.' And may delegated power rest on all who fit that designation!

P. S. We are out of the hard third of the week as of Tuesday, but here's what I said about this last weekend: Of course the whole weekend and almost all of Monday are under the reign of the moon squaring Saturn aspect delimiting what I call the Karmically Difficult, Sobering Third of the week. It shall continue to hit the weekends until midMay. This time it coincides with Charles announcing his illness and with flash floods and tornado-like winds in California. It's been rather gloomy for me, but knowing about it helps, which is why I report it here.
