~Strength in Calm Seeking~
Moon in Cancer
^ “A buffalo standing on an eminence pawing the ground and snorting” could be winners or losers in the midterm elections, or their supporters. They are “bold, independent and forceful” in the face of either victory or defeat. What is it that makes you relatively independent? You have a taste of that.
~ At a level of nobility, “a man swimming in an angry sea” is resolute and brave, taking great risks upon himself for the benefit of others. He endures through waves of adversity. Leading a forlorn hope, he will get recognition for his sacrifice and be honored.
> Studious individuals will turn to “an old book lying open upon a table, beside it a burning lamp.” Ancient or classical learning brings happiness through mental conquest. One might “achieve something important to the world” by cultivating deep understanding. Spiritual seeking of a true sort has real results in the outer world.
& Politicians and their supporters in both parties may feel like “a man swimming in the river against the current and making no progress.” Yet if they were to calm down to a deeper perspective they could all sit at “a table upon which a right angle and a plane are lying,” finding pleasure in justice, rectitude, strength, good works, and fraternity-sorority.
* The moon is waning, yet we have “The moon in her first quarter.” This is “too-sanguine” fondness of change and speculation, yet “on the whole, fortunate.” An individual inner appreciation of all things comes from “turning into self” or “into the quieted mind.” (Marc Edmund Jones)
