^Promising Transition^

Moon in Leo   ***

The restraints we feel while Mercury remains slow (it is near its station, or motionlessness as observed from Earth) are milder now, for it shall turn direct (still moving hardly at all) Wednesday. It's not that "nothing is working" but that "it's starting to get clearer to me though there are still things to understand and work out." Mercury conjoined to Uranus is mental brilliance and amazing ideas which come out of nowhere. One senses that even if they are reliable one cannot fully implement them yet, but they are worth noting and remembering, to work with when one can.

For lovers or would-be lovers, things are improving while Venus and Mars remain in a good relationship (until July 4) and Venus and Saturn are separating from their clash, which can bring depression, sadness, even despair and grief. We cannot completely discount such feelings until May 10, a week from tomorrow, but they should be noticeably easier to handle. We have learned something painful about ourselves and now can live with that humbling knowledge in a way which is more congenial to everyone else and makes things better for ourselves and all.

Luna in Leo forming mostly good aspects suggests a sense of youthful freedom from fear; new-found courage. Money and work factors seem more promising.

The budgetary quarrel in Congress, threatening a government shutdown, reached a resolution (it seems) on Monday. Venus square Saturn is also hard for money matters, and it is fascinating that the 3.5 degree orb which I find useful was exceeded beginning Sunday, that is, those two planets were separated by more than 93.5 degrees starting then, which does not end the aspect but makes it milder. So with that help, Congress was able to get a bill passed on Sunday evening and Monday. It remains to be signed perhaps Wednesday when Mercury turns direct! Only when the stars were properly aligned could it happen, it seems. And for all of us at the personal level, something like a "budget crisis" may be ending as well, or if not now then over the coming week or two.

There are "laws of karma" which require much of us, and we feel that more under heavy Saturn aspects, and yet Sai Baba explains that there is also possible escape from the worst karma through divine grace. It is interesting that his teaching in that regard coincides with that of Sri Aurobindo and the Lord Christ Jesus. Praise the Lord! The only catch is that we need to be open to receive that Grace. For some, rituals do it; for some, Scripture reading and study; for some, meditation or chanting or mantra. I use all of those methods. I need a lot of grace.

I hope the following link works; if not, here is something heartening from Sai Baba:

You might say that the karma of the previous birth has to be consumed in this birth and that no amount of grace can save man from that. Evidently, someone has taught you to believe so. But I assure you, you need not suffer from karma like that. When a severe pain torments you, the doctor gives you a morphine injection and you do not feel the pain, though it is there in the body. Grace is like the morphine; the pain is not felt, though you go through it! Grace takes away the malignity of the karma which you have to undergo. There are also dated drugs, which become ineffective after a certain time. Well, so too, with Grace, the effect of karma is rendered null, even though you go through the experience. Hence, it is wrong to say the ‘Lalaata likhitam’ (fate written on the forehead) cannot be rendered ineffective. Grace can surpass anything; nothing can stand in its way. Remember, it is the grace of the ‘All-mighty’!
- Divine Discourse, Nov 23, 1964.
