~Modest Persistence~

I have tried various ways of using the zodiacal-degree symbols in these daily forecast-meditations. As of today I want to try a new method, which highlights not four but six degrees each day. Too much? Maybe, but rigorous research has led me in this direction. Friday, March 1, 2024:

1 'Wheels within wheels, spiral and revolving.' For me this means a lot; even if you are not an astrologer it may indicate that you are today aware of the past and present cycles of your life in a new way. 'Falling off the wheel' at one juncture does not mean one cannot climb back on. 'His path is the path of the just that "shineth brighter and brighter unto the perfect day."'

2 'A train entering a tunnel.' This could be 'community functions or social divisions of labor' and the keyword is Courtesy. We do not flaunt ourselves.

3 'A large flag on the top of a high mountain.' One 'rises from a very low degree to eminence.' This could be happening, paradoxically, even while one is going through a tunnel. 

4 'A truncated cone' with keyword Curtailment. In some matters, 'the pinnacle and end of one's ambitions will not be reached; therefore, aim higher than one means to hit, or yet remain contented.' We get out of the tunnel, and carry the flag up the hill, but maybe not to the top. It's okay.

5 So we do not have to emulate 'an old woman seated on a stool with a hooded cloak wrapped closely round her' whose nature is 'warped by feelings of selfishness and jealousy.' 'Bitterness and secret enmity' do not have to poison our souls. We may feel Isolated, the keyword, yet can 'study to preserve interest and sympathy in all that is human and so escape being abandoned of Heaven and Earth.' 

6 All this may feel like 'an examination of initiates.' There is 'a demand that man continue at all times to prove himself in full accordance with the claims he has made for himself.' The keyword is Qualification. There can be 'instinctive conformity to the highest expectation of everybody concerned in each situation of consequence.' 

7 One way to use these paragraphs is to choose which of the six makes one most uneasy, and then which one makes one most comfortable or assured. There could be a message within them by their supplementation of each other.

I've been listening to Abigail Shrier talk with Joe Rogan about 'bad therapy' for children and adults. One facet of it is this: Sometimes the 'therapee' could be better off not talking and thinking about his or her problems all the time. That is relevant to today's forecast, because the day looks genuinely difficult to me, but I don't want to hurt anyone by making them overly worried or needlessly introspective. There, I gave a warning.

Both the aspects and the symbols are rather harsh, which means we need to transcend or 'rise above' whatever they are pointing to in our individual situation. 

'A man is lying prone upon a bed of sickness.' Rather than being sympathetic, Sepharial implies that this person is 'cramped and warped by egotism and selfish indulgence' and not getting 'adequate exercise.' Or, he admits, in some cases it might be 'only a physical malady requiring rest.' We ought to beware of embodying the keyword, Apathy. 

Or, he might be lying there and having auto-erotic fantasies, says Charubel. 'A naked man has a serpent coiled around the lower part of the body.' 'A vicious degree, denoting one subject to filthy habits and deeds; he should "Know himself" and seek to conquer his evil nature.' We're in a more permissive era these days, but still, there are wisely virtuous limits in most individuals' self-mentoring.

Thoughts of death, and fear of it or even desire for it, occur more often, obviously, than the event itself. This could be one of those days. 'The ascendant enveloped in gloom and blackness' is 'the degree of death.' Charubel advises that we 'devote energies to the spiritual side of [our] nature. Here [we] may find comfort, even when walking through the way where the shades of death abound.' Possibly you will think of some who are 'on the other side' or who seem to be approaching readiness for that. 

Yet life goes on. 'A fork or farmyard implement with four prongs' indicates 'a laborious person, very unambitious, a useful member of society ever content with his present lot.' This, according to Shrier and Rogan, may be much better than going to a therapist. 

Still, there is always 'more' if we choose to reach for it. 'A fixed star or transcendental sun sheds a halo of supernal glory on the ascendant.' There is unexplainable psychic power. The brilliant gifts of many 'are not appreciated or understood by the present world.' Yet the life of such a personage 'will be long on the earth and its influence extend to future generations.'

The sun and Mercury both sextile Jupiter make for ordinary smoothness of life and consciousness. Only mildly upsetting this, the moon both void-of-course and in the Via Combusta all day make things either confusing and out-of-pattern or just dully normal, so we may feel we are using 'a fork like a farmyard implement with four prongs' to be 'laborious, unambitious, a useful member of society content with our present lot.'

When relaxed at home, we enjoy 'a tastefully furnished room with a large wax candle on a round table in the center.' In other words, we appreciate conventional proclivities, the comforts of the familiar.

As for the remote, you may have noticed that you are drawn to, or have forced upon you, 'individuals possessed with strange influences, perhaps familiars or spirit companions, obsessed by whatever is consistent with their character.'

At more sublime levels there is 'A fixed star, a transcendental sun, shedding a halo of supernal glory.' There can be unexplainable psychic powers, brilliant gifts not appreciated by the present-day world because not understood. 'His life will be long on earth, and his influence extend to future generations.'

< Moon goes into the Via Combusta around 1p PT | 4p ET: beginning of a three-day "cosmic reshuffling" when much is uncertain. Mars square Jupiter can be fighting unrighteousness or injustice and winning because of Divine Law or karma. 

Maybe major things or agreements should be accomplished early before the moon goes void-of-course, see time below.

Moon in a trine with the Mars-Venus conjunction in the morning especially: Some good and friendly feelings. 

It's a day to "hack it," so that one's solid, strong, worthy intentions will gradually gain traction.

I am not sure when, or if, I shall go back to the daily symbol-charts, but for now it seems my interests gravitate to the Fortnightly charts. 

Now: February 16-March 2, with Full Moon of Pisces-Virgo at the center

Next: March 3-16, New Moon of Pisces at the center

Then: March 17-April 1, Full Moon of Aries-Libra at the center

We covered the Now fortnight last week and repeated the coverage in the Weekend report, which you might want to re-read, copy, print or bookmark. 

I have just set up the charts for the next two Fortnights. Briefly: I believe that the easiest or most reassuring and progressive of the two will be the later, March 17-April 1 Fortnight. True, the next Dark Hermetic Epoch begins then, on March 18th, but still things look smoother. I believe that the March 3-16 Fortnight will be rather covert, not frantic but confusing, good for gradually sorting things out with the old-fashioned faith of a man walking in the dark with a lantern. Then the March 17-April 1 Fortnight, with very few hard aspects, looks like a breeze in some ways, even though one of the symbols is one of the worst of the 1080. We'll get to that later. 

Ultimately, though the human tendency is to hope for smooth sailing, we have to eat the bitter herbs with the sweet nectar at all points; astrology helps us to do that gracefully. 

As for Monday: The sun and Mercury joining Saturn mean that we are solidly focused on major goals. This is soberness and resolve. Because they are sextile Jupiter, help is available when needed. 

Mars and Venus together in Aquarius can be playful erotic feelings, especially when Luna trines them from Libra in the evening. 

Venus and Mars are square Jupiter, Mars exactly so, and as I've pointed out the great astrologer CEO Carter said this was the hardest of all aspects. We are at a bitter turning point in the Israel-Hamas war and in the Ukraine-Russia war. Neither offers easy resolution, but what are squares for but to force an opportunity for resolution rather than more violence? Apart from actual war there can also be debate and it can be angry. However, that square does give energy and excitement which can be channeled into good deeds or creative projects. In some ideal world it could be the beginning of negotiation and resolution.

We discussed, from Tuesday through Friday, the current soli-lunar fortnight, and I believe it all bears re-reading, so here it is:

~Relaxation~

The sun entered the sign Pisces Sunday February 18th at 8:14p PT | 11:14p ET, until late in the day of Tuesday March 19 when the vernal equinox occurs and the sun will occupy Aries for a month.

The Pisces experience can be mellow, peaceful, and meditative. An astrologer on X said today that Pisces acquaintances tend to take a lot of naps. Yes, I had a hard time focusing on 'duties' or planned routines today. I feel this is a good time to drift a little, to go away from some overly planned routines while sticking with essential ones. I feel I need to focus more on the longer-term rather than the daily charts for a while.

The lunar fortnight of Friday February 16 through March 2 can be read in various ways; what I have found most valuable are the clairvoyantly derived symbols for the degrees of the zodiac, as they turn up in the fortnightly charts I have researched rigorously. 

Focusing first on the revealing Charubel symbols, we have 'A ruin; the remains of a massive wall, with an archway therein.' 'One finds more pleasure in the retrospective than the prospective.' It's okay to drift into memories while napping or daydreaming. For some, ancient history or ancient literature or Scripture will be specially helpful.

There is a bit of the prosaic, so perhaps we should not push ourselves. 'A farmer's horse and cart with a man driving' suggests 'an unambitious person; one who is quite contented with his lot.' This comes as a relief to me, because today I really felt like taking a vacation. The farmer is getting his work done, but without sweat. 

Likewise, there could be prematurity. 'A scrawl or flourish of the pen' denotes 'disappointments through lack of judgment, or inability to adapt oneself to conditions required, ever anticipating what one  cannot realize.' Well, we do what we can, but should not be harsh with ourselves if it is 'baby steps.'

'The trunk of a large tree covered with moss, and hollow' is 'A romantic degree. One will outlive the other members of his family; and probably be the last of his race.' Again, it seems the past is more satisfying than an unknown, uncertain future. 

We'll consider more factors in this chart in the Wednesday report.

The Current Fortnight: ^Spiritual Connections^

We continue with a prognosis of the current Solar-Lunar Fortnight, February 16-March 2. You could profitably review yesterday's report along with this. On X, they can be bookmarked. 

We could say that 'lassitude,' or 'waiting for something to happen,' or 'being cool and collected' was the essence of what we recommended yesterday. That continues, but in addition we enter 'a room full of machinery and jars of chemicals' belonging to 'a scientist, chemist, or inventor; an active person with great power of perception; a promising experimentalist.' I had a hint of what this means yesterday when I found myself bookmarking advice of a dietary 'expert' or maybe a 'health nut,' but his recommendations seemed reasonable at the time, such as turmeric, and olive or avocado or coconut oil. It seems that our individual diets are always experiments, so we may be evaluating and modifying them during this fortnight. 

Pisces can be an indefinite sign, yet within it the sun is at the symbol 'A target.' We are endowed with powers of concentration, and a 'spirit of rivalism.' We are 'good marksmen' and so in the lazy way outlined yesterday we may find ways of hitting targets we didn't even know were there. 

'A flag on the top of a high mountain' is the banner of someone we believe in, perhaps in politics, religion or spirituality. It helps us center ourselves so we then find appropriate 'targets.'  

The 21st, tomorrow, is the birthday of Mira Alfassa Richard, known as The Mother in the Sri Aurobindo movement. The sun in her birth chart is where Mercury is in this Fortnight chart: 'A luminous cloud, isolated and sailing slowly in the azure sky. It suddenly opens and pours out on the earth an influence resembling a shower of pearls of variegated hue.' The Mother had (and has) spiritual powers which appear magical. We could tune in to them at this time. 'Numerous celestial gifts. One will prosper in matters temporal and spiritual, and that without apparent effort on his part. However, liable to lose by recklessness and prodigality.' We have been forewarned!

Neptune in Pisces gives us '* * * An occult degree. One is sure to be possessed with strange influences. He or she has a spirit companion or familiar as if obsessed, its nature determined by his or her own character.' Interesting times. For Catholics, a saint or guardian angel; for pagans, who knows what? 

We could reach toward the Highest. 'A fixed star; a transcendental sun. It sheds a halo of supernal glory on the ascendant.' 'Much psychic power. Brilliant gifts, not appreciated by the present-day world. His life will be long on the earth, and his influence extend to future generations.' I believe that such an individual shall appear to anyone who is ready, and that silently asking such an individual for help could bring it.

I don't know what to say. We are in a strange Fortnight (February 16 through March 2). Everything feels inconclusive and tangential.

In the chart for the Fortnight's center, which is the Full Moon chart, a major activating configuration is the conjunction of Mars and Venus both squaring Jupiter. CEO Carter proclaimed that he had found the hard aspects, square and opposition, between Jupiter and Mars the hardest of all. No astrologer I know seems to know he said that or agree with it. But we are in a strange muddle both personally and politically, if I am reading the mood on X accurately. People are groaning and moaning about the border, Ukraine, Trump, Biden, and the overall breakdown of what has seemed normal for decades. 

Meanwhile Tulsi Gabbard seems to be at the center of a strange triangle, being floated as a possible VP candidate for both Trump and Kennedy! If she is Venus, she does not know yet to which Mars she shall ally, Donald or Bobby. Nor is it clear that she would be the top choice of either. She has, natally, the sun and three other planets in Aries and has a military background.  Through the square with Jupiter, she would shake up the presidential contest thoroughly if she joins with either of them. And Kennedy has said he shall announce his choice in the next two weeks, as required by some states for him to get on their ballots. Oy Vey. In the coming Fortnight chart (March 3-16, Mars (ruler of Aries, Tulsi) shall be exactly square Uranus, big excitement! I cannot forecast what shall happen. 

Meanwhile in our personal lives, what I reported here in the Tuesday and Wednesday reports continues. The symbols suggested quietude and review, yet the big square just mentioned is covert excitement, a desire for something big which probably will not be satisfied.

From the Borelli-Sepharial symbols: 'A wreck floating on a peaceful sea' is what we may feel like. Also, 'a hand and head separated from a body' as Disjunction or a 'what do I do now?' syndrome. Yet 'chemical instruments' allow us to Test things before they are implemented. This is something like the 'tentativeness' already indicated by the Charubel symbols. We may feel we are on 'a merry-go-round' (Sabian), caught in Diversions which can be entertaining as well as partly meaningless. As 'a raven' we may be Envious, yet we may also find our way to sit on a throne surrounded by wealth we have gained through Self-Service.

I prefer NI, Natural Intelligence as displayed by the sages and astrologers (Wise Men or Magi in the Bible) of the ages. 'He is able to take a perspective superior to any involvement or pattern of limitation.' There could be 'special competence in whole judgment and long-range planning.' 

The |Karmically sobering, challenging third| of this week occupies all of Friday and Saturday until about noon Sunday because the moon, which determines it with Saturn, is moving more slowly than usual. We need to watch out for 'a popularity which proves ephemeral' when the pendulum swing of popular feeling goes against us for a while. The moments of endorsement are real but we cannot cling to them.

What is not ephemeral? 'A petrified forest.' This is 'an eternal stout-heartedness, and its very practical dividends in spiritual continuance.' At its peak this can make for physical longevity as well. The keyword is Survival.

We may attend, effortlessly, more than usual to duties than we would anticipate on a weekend, as if 'officers on dress parade' -- keyword, Discipline. Or, 'A woman sprinkling flowers,' demonstrating stewardship and (the keyword) Care. Yet the moon being void-of-course most of the day Friday means we may do these things in 'out-of-pattern' ways rather than as sticklers to past methods.

There can be the Relaxation of 'a retired sea captain' -- 'a completeness of self-consummation through a gift for bringing all prior factors of realization to focus in the present moment.'

And there are occasions for Diversion and pleasure when we climb onto life's 'Merry-go-round,' 'receptive to every turn of opportunity.'
