Two Chinese men speaking their own language
Are strengthened by their difference from their neighbors.
One rides on a horse near the edge of a cliff
Looking into a valley where people are working,
While they, resenting his superiority, could bring
Danger to his position. The other wears monkish
Clothing, with long hair and flowing beard,
Fond of solitude. His religion is severe.
Fog hangs over his meditation seat while he ponders
Worldly matters, frustrated and confused,
But when he turns to the spiritual and transcendental
Sunshine dissipates the fog. These two have different
Destinies, one glad to command from above, the other,
Renunciate, seeking heaven's kingdom within.
