}The Rarity of Compassion{
Internal strength is just that, internal. External strength is good but requires constant effort to maintain it (as in body-building) and you may not feel like that today; or, if you do, could do it sub rosa in a place where no one sees you. If you went more public it would be in the hope of attracting someone via your stunning appearance.
The moon winding down (or dying, as it were, before rebirth as a New Moon Saturday evening) suggests holding to old paths, although recombining them in novel ways. Much is budding, spiritually, in this new Bright Epoch lasting until April 4. You most certainly want to get a new grip on your spiritual path, or should I say a better tread on it; and you are seeing how different paths combine. This is the age of the multiple guru! Almost no one follows just one guru or one path. That is all right, but it is important to choose your primary guru or gurus, teacher or teachers. Then the others will settle into place naturally.
What prevents you from falling? It is wise to consider that and hold to it when you feel yourself slipping into passions with dangerous consequences. "Thus far and no farther" is a good Biblical saying to remember at such times. You rightly feel that you are coyly cunning and that someone attracted to you can be manipulated in subtle ways. Oh the glory of it! Until she or he turns on you, which is possible, unless you decide "thus far and no farther . . . ".
Moral or ethical training can prevent people from going over the edge, when it comes to anger, revenge or violence. Much maladjustment in these areas comes from not believing in or trusting the laws of karma, which are taught in one way or another in every religion. People had better know that they will suffer from vengeful acts, or vengeful acts will never end. Someone with unique or strange qualities who feels alienated can become especially bitter and dangerous, unless the world recognizes his or her good potentials and fosters them.
Venus joined Jupiter in the sign Pisces Thursday, and will be there through March 6. This is an especially favorable combination for spiritual search, or should I say spiritual realization. Your previous searches have a chance of coming to consummation. Of course, the ultimate Consummation is off in the future for most of us, but it is well to accept what one can when one can. Mira Alfassa Richard, the Mother of the Sri Aurobindo movement, is Pisces, and Venus, today and Saturday, is right with the sun and Venus in her birth-chart (February 21, 1878). Jupiter is joining the place of the sun in the birth-chart of Meher Baba (February 25, 1894), a quite different sort of spiritual teacher yet one I have learned much from. Pisces is considered by many astrologers to be the sign of the Avatar, although no such sign has that exclusive privilege; Sri Aurobindo is Leo, Sai Baba Sagittarius (or Scorpio-Sagittarius). At any rate, regardless of your path (Pisces is also a Christian sign, the early church using the symbol of the fish), this period is a period in which Love, divine love more than single-person-focused romantic love, is becoming pronounced and available through streams of grace.
Personal love is not ruled out; but one will notice when it becomes too clannish, and try to open it up to the universal, such as a loving couple embracing the world rather than merely locking themselves in their boudoir. A spiritual conscience knows that love has to be cosmopolitan, and that compassionate conscience is active now.
Those who search and persevere, when others would have given up, are those who find.
With the higher love goes an indifference to personal needs, not totally careless but perhaps carefree, for when love is the motivation, one's personal gain or loss seems less important, except that one's gain is good when used in a kindly way to make life happier for all. Good judgment puts you in places where you are truly needed, and there you are protected.
