• Escaping from Peril • 1 We have some unhappy symbols today, such as "a wolf carrying away a lamb." Sometimes warnings apply not to yourself, the reader, but to someone you know, or less disturbingly to someone you hear about in the news. Let's hope there are no news stories of abductions or trafficking of children or other exploitation of the innocent. 2 If there are, there is also a remedy: "Two men placed under arrest." Many have to face legal consequences of their cruel or cunning misdeeds. Others (most of us) merely have to face reminders of what would happen if we got out of line. We need to be consistent in living up to ideals. 3 At worst, some have gone so far wrong that the karmic consequences are perilous. "An oak tree is broken by the wind, and beneath is the skeleton of some dead creature." Yet even the worthless are given shelter out of sheer goodwill. If sins or errors weigh on you, remember that Jesus said "The Son of Man has the right on earth to forgive sins," and do some serious study of the Gospels daily in order to be ready for such forgiveness. 4 If free of, or escaped from, most of such problems you can be as "a man with hand and index finger pointing upward as if in command." He has "a generous and kind disposition and a high order of intelligence, capable of filling various positions, ingenious and inventive.
