• Protection, Prudence, Ordinary Gain • 1 The karmically sobering third of this week is at its peak today. New or risky plans or agendas should be avoided, or one could be like "a man running in the face of a strong wind, making little headway while his garments fly in tatters behind him." Pride and obstinacy incur criticism and loss. Rather, ordinary needed tasks are doable. 2 "A naked infant, exposed, sleeps alone in an open and dreary place. Around him are beasts and birds of prey. But by some strange power, unseen, this embodied picture of Innocence is protected." Parents and others have been cruel, yet the child has been saved from malice. "No weapon formed against him shall prosper." 3 The same or another "child is giving birds a drink at a fountain." He or she has "uncompromising faith in the friendly relationships characterizing the world at large." There is a creative concern for others, or Solicitude, as an upramp to immortality. 4 In contrast with the foolishness of paragraph 1, some are industrious, watchful, prudent, working with an eye to the future and therefore provident in old age. "An old man is cutting grapes in a vineyard," happily gathering in fruits of foresight and care.
