Message for Monday 2 November 2026
• Fidelity •
A hare seated on a knoll, behind it the rising moon,
Is apprehensive of what may not be dangers.
An affectionate lamb looks towards its dam,
Needing someone to cling to or love.
Courage protects from vicissitudes.
A drowning man is safely rescued.
A knight of the field, mailed and plumed,
Steadfastly defends his country's rights.
A round temple with a pointed roof
Is resorted to by those who value
The mysteries of religious rites.
The Zuni sun worshipers recognize that they
Receive life and strength from higher natural
Forces to which they grant fidelity.
