I'm starting to think I should give the Via Combusta times every month (when the moon is in the last half of Libra and first half of Scorpio) because these are dangerous times. Perhaps not if you stay at home or do ordinary routines, but even then you will run into peculiar situations. I see that on Thursday when the moon was in that position all day, there were 190 (at least) deaths in Syria, most of them heartless murders (which we still dignify by the name of "warfare"). This is the most deaths ever in one day in that Syrian conflict, according to agencies monitoring the situation. More horrible evidence for the accuracy of astrology, although we could hope for nicer evidence. (The U. S. invaded Iraq nine years ago on a day when the moon was in the Via Combusta.) I did not give the exact time in the last report. It ended Friday at 2:29p PT | 5:29p ET | 9:29p UT. Therefore we could hope that the second half of the moon-in-Scorpio period might be somewhat better.

There is a big desire for truth at this time. How can anyone go through life without a philosophy, religion, or other guiding pattern? I don't see how. We all need that. Just wishful thinking is not enough; we need something we can trust with our minds as well as our hearts.

The period has many potentials for artistry, music, poetry, or any kind of entertainment which uplifts you, with an accent on youth.

Accounting and commercial pursuits are also favored. You know or sense how to handle money or consummate safe transactions.

The ridiculous can be relief-granting. The Simpsons, Family Guy, and other cartoonish satire can release complexes of guilt and worry through laughter. I myself have been offended, sometimes deeply, by some of this stuff and yet other parts of it approach the ineffable.

Protests against exploitation continue, though let us hope with more legal-style discussion and less violence than in the previous period. Worldwide communication and information are making it harder for tyrants anywhere to deceive and control.

We all want to escape from dullness, and yet we want safeguards to protect what we have gained. It seems that playing fairly your part in life, carrying out the tasks which seem to have been "assigned" to you or self-assigned, is appropriate and essential, giving you internal as well as external security and peace of mind. Mars is in the last degree of Virgo, where it has been for almost eight months, since November 11. You might look back over that period and try to comprehend something about your work methods, your job, daily or weekly tasks. If you see how they have changed, evolved or improved, you may get useful insight. You could attempt this evaluation also with diet, exercise and other health regimens. (Mars will enter Libra on Tuesday; more about that in the next report.)

An urge to try your luck at gaining what you want is present; one could call it gaming or adventuring, or trying to win a contest. You may find yourself staking more on this than you had expected. Well, someone will win, although whether the winner will be happier than the loser is another question. Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to dampen your spirits! Go for it. (Or you might just read about or watch someone doing this.)

The Part of Fortune in the 5th field (or house) on Saturday makes that evening a natural one for fun, pleasure, entertainment or happy connections. By Sunday it will be in the 6th (with the moon approaching Full), still good but more oriented to accomplishment in some way.

You are hopeful and able to start over even if you feel you have landed on a sand bank for a while. Some kind of assistance or cooperation is essential and this is no cause for shame; it is part of the human condition. The anger people have been feeling in many contexts is still smoldering but there are interesting and entertaining potentials to quench it.
