0 This week, through Sunday the 14th, looks considerably better, more upbeat, than last week, yet it may start slowly. 

1 "An empty space" is occupied by "a person not disposed to settle down to any work of a plodding nature" because he or she is weak and open to extraneous influences. 

2 "A cypress tree" shelters someone fretful, mournful, and gloomy, suffering from the loss or absence of a loved one. 

3 "Blighted hopes, betrayed confidence, bereavement and void ambition" may seem the lot of "a woman standing in an attitude of dejection, covering her naked breast with the hair of her head." Though left to her own resources, she can recover with aid from the Highest. 

4 "A horseman armed moves across a desert toward some woody hills." He is a self-willed and daring pioneer, carrying out designs conceived by himself without the aid or companionship of others. Somewhat estranged and taciturn, he makes his mark through perseverance. 

5 Where do these four turn for inspiration? To "a large archaic volume." Perhaps it's the Bible, perhaps Sri Aurobindo's Savitri. There is "an assurance of illimitable resources in wisdom, a heritage that may be made manifest at any time in immediate and practical guidance." The keyword is Background. 

6 "An old man is attempting vainly to reveal the Mysteries." There is an "uncompromising integrity of higher vision and an unshakable determination to dramatize it." The keyword is Pertinacity.
