Message for Weekend of October 17th and 18th, 2026

Saturday 17th:

• From Tact to Companionship •

One who becomes a pest or terror seems like

A serpent with many heads, fangs protruding.

Meanwhile, violent and rash individuals

Sweep a prairie like a desolating storm.

Nature however is tactful, dropping down

Information in the symbol of an autumn leaf.

Still there remain multi-colored flowers

Plus human attractiveness and charm.

Those who are passively regular in their conduct

Resemble a Welsh harp, loving the harmonious

In all things. Sharing with intimates and neighbors

At every opportunity makes life open out

Into an evening lawn party. Social

Maturity becomes mellow companionship.

Saturday: • From Tact to Companionship •

Moon in Capricorn

Karmically sobering third of this week continues until Sunday early afternoon.

Sunday 18th:

Let's look at some longer trends. Mercury shall be retrograde from Saturday October 24th through November 12th-13th. But the longer termed Dark Hermetic Epoch is already with us, from October 4th through November 30th. Delays, uncertainties, wondering, pondering, thinking, musing, planning and replanning, occult quest and spiritual pursuit. It's not a bad time except for the impatient. A more normal Bright Hermetic Epoch shall run from December 1st through January 24th.

Sunday: Moon in Capricorn goes void-of-course at 9:14a PT until entering Aquarius at 6:41p PT.

Karmically sobering third of this week ends near noon or shortly thereafter.

• Unusual Paths to Delight •

Charubel says that a giant with black limbs

Creeps upward and should study his birthchart.

A man holding a pair of scales and a sword

May be just, though too severe.

Someone independent and isolated has the pride

Of a solitary tree upon a rocky height.

A storm-swept prairie has the remains of

Fallen idols and desolated temples.

A third wing on the left side of a butterfly

Has improbable worth, yet its distinctiveness

Brings idealistic originality to the world.

Children on a swing in a huge oak tree

Have unique flight paths, beating out

Youthful zest and laughing delight.

• Exploring with Fervor and Delight •

Can rigid justice often be unjust?

A man holds a pair of scales and a sword.

Another, in gown and skull-cap, does careful,

Systematic research into nature's secrets,

Amassing a mound of earth and stones to

Support a single reward: a flowering shrub.

Beneath the sky, blue and then covered with

Stars, wanders a gifted explorer.

In morning's rays Chanticleer affirms himself

Fearlessly, winning immediate allegiance from

Hearts and minds attuned to his insightful fervor.

Personal reality is integrally conceived

Overshadowing of a huge oak tree where

Children swing in refreshing zest and delight.

• Solicitude •

A man sleeping beside money-bags

Could lose much carelessly.

A female, nude, could be carried away

By lower passions voluptuously.

But righteous judgment comes from one

Whose open Bible displays a sword.

When the worse threatens, the better may be found,

Like the Rejuvenation of early morning dew.

A child, in creative concern for others,

Gives birds a drink at a fountain,

Consummating the inner nature's ideals.

Solicitude is contented carefulness

In small things. A flowering shrub grows

Atop a continuously massed

earth-mound.

° Rejuvenation °

A dilapidated bridge suggests some projects

Could collapse. Find the right trail.

A cross formed of darts signifies

A strong will, magical ability.

A red flame ascending is ardent desire

And true enthusiasm for a cause.

There is refreshment in unexpected resources

Like the Rejuvenation of early morning dew.

A crowd upon the beach exhibit unconditioned

Friendliness, releasing tensions through delight

In exhilarating human contacts.

Someone digging in the sand holds up

A brilliant precious stone or jewel. His

exploration

Has yielded unexpected good fortune.

Glass blowers demonstrate creative skill

A person partial to religious rites enters

A mysterious round temple with pointed roof.

A man in the robe of a priest stands beneath

A window's light, highly favored.

A Jewish rabbi has a deep understanding of

His fellow human beings and their

Heritage. The sun is shining brightly as if

From a great man, a public character

Whose presence the world regards essential.

A man with his foot on the shoulder of a spade

Holds up a precious jewel. He has gained rare

Fortune, a position he never anticipated.

Saturday 10th:

Arrows shot aimlessly waste time in

Tangled affairs summing to Inconsequence.

A Bolshevik propagandist is seeking a worthy

Cause to leaven humanity's potentials.

Two men placed under arrest have lost

Responsible balance, so suffer consequences.

Someone can read character by examining

Handwriting or personal quirks.

A fox sitting on its haunches smells out

Selfish ends, knowing how to use

Others' weaknesses strategically.

A person who is open-handed and sincere

Is also prosperous and happy, maintaining a

Well-lighted house with open door.

Saturday 10th:

New Moon of Libra occurs at 8:51a PT.

Moon in Libra goes void-of-course at 4:08p PT.

Sunday 11th:

The month of Libra accentuates relationships. In Sri Aurobindo's epic poem Savitri this correlates to the first meeting of Savitri with Satyavan.

"Noble and clear as the broad peaceful heavens

A tablet of young wisdom was his brow;

Freedom's imperious beauty curved his limbs,

The joy of life was on his open face.

His look was a wide daybreak of the gods,

His head was a youthful Rishi's touched with light,

His body was a lover's and a king's."

-- Savitri, p. 393

• Fidelity to Lessons Learned •

Effecting operations without design, an archer

Shoots intensely but nonchalantly.

A bull pawing up the earth will have his own

Way amid sharp, determined anger.

A saddled and bridled horse gallops off

Without a rider. Avoid equestrian adventure.

A dagger has been stuck in an old door

By one foolishly mocking traditional ways.

Better, there is fidelity to lessons learned

From experience, the unshakable poise of a

Retired sea captain's mellow Relaxation.

He gazes at the constellations in the sky,

With or without astrolabe, the cosmos

Illimitably confirming effective Surety.

If a boat landing is washed away, there is a

Respite from ordinarily approaches to goals.

Restless and flighty, an archer shooting arrows

Is intense about too many affairs.

A soldier going through a drill should make sure

A well-fed animal has no ambition but

A child neglected by parents can get help from

The One Parent, plus self-assertion.

The contribution of the past and promise of the future

Contrast in an old-fashioned woman

Up-to-date girl. A man walks arm-in-arm

With two women, flattered and vacillating.

• Siesta toward Lightness or Practicality •

Those parentless, or seemingly so,

Can find at last a heavenly Parent.

A noon siesta provides moments of inner

Reorientation and recuperation.

Are an old-fashioned woman and an up-to-date girl

Competing or cooperating within their Contrast?

A dark-looking being is behind the back of

A restless woman endangered by obsession.

She could instead take it light, imitating

Others from behind a mummer's mask,

flaunting

Theatrical comedy, foolishness and flattery.

Others, more sober, carry sheaves of corn,

Fruit of their labors as practical benefactors of the

Race, good members of society.

Temporary, recovery real.

Personality achieves stability at the threshold of risk.

Rock formations make a precipice safe.

Who takes the place of a parent or guardian

For you? Are you reared among strangers?

What tendencies in you could bring on

Imprisonment or self-seclusion?

A minor modification perfects personal ambition

When a woman decides on a new hairstyle.

Some risks must be accepted, yet a canoe

Approaches safety through dangerous waters.

Not a roaring waterfall but a lovely

Taste and fine sensibilities.

What is the signature of a true magician with great

A maiden weeping over a grave is melancholy

And retiring, devoid of family and friends.

A blazing fireplace in a deserted home

An artist's conception of a heart suggests

Someone affectionate and unselfish,

Sharp susceptibility to infection is like
