• Realistic Command, or Drift within Equanimity •

1 A man is asleep in the heat of the day with implements beside him. He is dreaming rather than working. It's the last day of the waning moon. 

2 "Toys or common ornaments of glass or tinsel" bemuse a superficial, proud, fretful, peevish person. 

3 Fortunately, there appears "a new path of realism in experience." It arises from "a personal and immediate participation in the affairs of an everyday world." The keyword is Identification. 

4 A man quick to respond to the calls of duty and honor, of noble instincts and disciplined habits, is like "a soldier prepared for battle." He earns the credit that falls to him through efficient executive powers. 

5 Therefore he is in a position to command rather than obey, like "a king, emperor or commander on horseback." This is a degree of power. 

6 Yet it's the last day of the waning moon, so some may feel more like "a woman awaiting a sailboat." We exalt our destiny when aware of ships that might come in for us, with sure insight into the meaning of chance events and the current drift of circumstances. The keyword is Equanimity.
