Message for Thursday 5 February 2026 • Sorrow Malice Isolation Ecstasy • Overview: Thursday and Friday are besieged by difficult, sorrowful, angry or painful symbols. Things look considerably better by Saturday and Sunday. Thursday has three difficult symbols and one redemptive one, as follows: Sorrow. For some there could be harrowing trials. Let's pray for the victims of Iran's merciless government and for Christians persecuted in Nigeria and elsewhere. Malice. Some may be vindictive, frenzied or maniacal. They "see blood in the air and run amok." "A dark face wears an expression of fierce anger; across the forehead is a red band of blood." Of course it would be wise to stay out of the way. Isolation. But then one runs the risk of submitting to bitterness and secret enmity, like "an old woman seated on a stool with a hooded cloak wrapped closely round her." She is silent and melancholy in envious misanthropy. "Let her or him study to preserve interest and sympathy in all that is human." Ecstasy. Implicitly, we live in "a consistent intimacy with spiritual verities of every sort and on every hand." The symbol is "man tete-a-tete with his inspiration."
