• Downfall Insecurity Progression Self-Satisfaction
Downfall. Chaotic and confused projects resemble walking in the dark toward a pit. Ruin could still be escaped "by the helping and directing hand of some wise friend, or the overarching love of Heaven." "Let him walk warily and humbly in the simple safe ways of life."
Insecurity. Traveling afar with a deficiency of tact and skill could bring disaster. But "a submerged man clings to a boat on the sea for support" and through great faith is rescued.
Progression. People are more or less competent than one another on various levels. They "stand on stairs graduated upwards." The prior steps boost the forward ones.
Self-Satisfaction. "A man reclines on a rustic seat beneath a shady tree. A ray of sunshine has fallen on him." Some seem to have no trouble, while wealth flows to them. They might enhance their good fortune by sharing it.
