■ End Times? No, but . . . ■ Many feel that we are undergoing a deep spiritual crisis. In terms of astrology, this appears to be linked with the current square between Jupiter and Saturn, which tends to require a repentant, sober, circumspect, morally and ethically alert approach to all issues. Marc Edmund Jones puts it like this: "Jupiter and Saturn in a square aspect indicate an ordering of life's fundamental motives through which the individual usually suffers very immediate consequences of even the least neglect or abuse of his own potentials. He finds he must fight continually for the ideals in which he has come to take the most consistent interest, and also learns that his conscious well-being is wholly dependent on the moral struggles in which he becomes involved almost inevitably at every stage of his experience. If he does not relish the days in which he seems torn to pieces in self-uncertainty, he must discover ways to tear himself apart deliberately on the behalf either of some cause of real significance or some conception that he can dramatize through his own being. Personal existence under this configuration can become either great opportunity or else a gradual disintegration of the soul in the very core of itself." - Essentials of Astrological Analysis, pp. 125-6. Very strong medicine. Most astrologers would not put it that formidably, but we need to face our weaknesses and try to overcome them. This aspect began, by the maximum ten-degree orb, in July 2024 and ends on July 27, 2025. It will be exact on June 14-15. Another great astrologer, C E O Carter, has noted that this aspect correlates with bouts of depression, even to the point of suicide in some cases. If this post can prevent even one such incident it will have been worthwhile. It's not that we can just wait for August, but if we do our best to meet challenges honestly, things will smooth out by then.
