Weekend of August 8th and 9th, 2026

 Messages for the Weekend of August 8th and 9th, 2026

Saturday 8th:

1 "A man in chains" is a hard symbol for me because for years I have supported the Innocence Project which works hard to liberate those imprisoned on the basis of false accusations. Then today I happened to read about the thousands who are trying to escape from bondage to prescribed antidepressants. The keyword is Binding. There can be estrangement or distress. Let us pray.

2 "A wild boar" "has a life of his own, a sphere of his own, and pleasures of his own." If considered coarse and impolite, he doesn't care.

3 "A man driving a bull or an ox" prospers by dealing in cattle. What this might mean for urban folk I cannot say.

4 "The first mockingbird in spring" is attempting a self-revelation which will add stature to his role in everyday living, stimulating others. The keyword is Quickening.

5 Members of "a nonvested church choir" exercise respect for one another within the broader or community functions of life. The keyword is Communion.

6 "A man riding a camel with attendants following" travels much and is stubborn and persevering. He is fond of parade and self-advertisement. Throughout his Journeying he is highly successful.

Moon in Gemini goes void-of-course at 10:28p PT until entering Cancer at 12:09a early Sunday.

Sunday 9th:

"August and few the sovereign Kings of Thought

Have made of Space their wide all-seeing gaze

Surveying the enormous work of Time:

A breadth of all-containing Consciousness

Supported Being in a still embrace.

Intercessors with a luminous Unseen,

They capt in the long passage to the world

The imperatives of the creator Self

Obeyed by unknowing earth, by conscious heaven;

Their thoughts are partners in its vast control.

A great all-ruling Consciousness is there

And Mind unwitting serves a higher Power;

It is a channel, not the Source of all.

The cosmos is no accident in Time;

There is a meaning in each play of Chance,

There is a freedom in each face of Fate."

-- Sri Aurobindo's Savitri, p. 271
