• Good Grief • 1 I try to write what will help people navigate the streams of time. But I get almost no feedback. Consequently I'm in the position of preaching to myself while hoping that will be relevant for others. 2 This morning, lying in bed, I felt I had risen above depressing, demonic thoughts of the nighttime, and just wanted to lie there peacefully forever rather than get up to face the day's transient tasks. 3 That is a common feeling while Mercury is retrograde (March 15-April 25). "Why bother? Isn't this all just an illusion anyway?" There is mental and emotional fatigue. There is Too Much Information and much of it contradictory. The experts disagree. News outlets seem to be propaganda organs and real information is stirred up with misinformation. 4 And so one turns to me past. One's own memories after all can be trusted! Often in sleep or daydreaming I will spontaneously recall or "see" old friends or relatives, some of whom have discarded their material bodies. "Good to see you, Cousin Jim." The quick and the dead mingle. 5 Or one turns to old books, films or music for records of what has certainly happened to, or been imagined by, some members of the human race. A re-treat into the past similar to re-miniscence. This is sometimes called "retro." 6 The syndromes of paragraphs 2-5 are also more frequent than usual in the whole Dark (Slow) Hermetic Epoch, March 1--April 25. 7 This time all of the above is more intense than usual because Venus also happens to be retrograde, March 1--April 12. 8 When I finish this I want to take a nap. 9 Then there are the "little things." I waited an hour outside an office for an appointment, only to be told I had been emailed that the appointment had been canceled. Of course there was no such email. This morning a car horn was being honked in the parking lot outside my apartment for 15 minutes because its owner needed someone else to unblock the parking space. I seem to walk in circles from living room to kitchen and back, forgetting utensils or turning on the wrong burner. Pete Hegseth and Mike Waltz embarrassed themselves by inviting an enemy of the Trump administration into a Signal chat on military strategy. Provide your own further examples. 10 Making the whole thing worse, both Mercury and Venus while retrograde and then stationary are stuck to Saturn at the end of Pisces, even until mid-May. Grief and sorrow. Yet they are also trine Mars--good grief. That is, love and harmony can be evoked. ° Gradual Recovery ° 1 Some of the good news is Mars forming a trine with Saturn, Venus, Mercury and Neptune. Because Venus is now retrograde, turning direct April 12, the trine between them lasts till mid-June. We can look forward to a merry month of May, except that, 2 Meanwhile, from March 22 to May 14, slow-moving Venus sticks close to Saturn, planet of sorrow or difficult karma. Example: A memorial ceremony for a dear relative is coming up. There will be grief, mourning, and tears. But the trine with Mars will also promote happy memories and meetings with friends and relatives in harmony. 3 And so in everyday life this week you'll find yourself both celebrating the presence of loved ones and fretting over their problems. A complex emotional nature makes for discontent. You may feel you have been cold or unsympathetic, or that others have been cold or unsympathetic to you. Is suffering the lot of those who love? Does a suspicious attitude toward some cause them to doubt and disappoint you? Yet at best there can be real loyalty to the most important people or groups in your life. You can pass the test of selfless love. 4 Financial and business matters drag on, back and forth in uncertainty while both Mercury and Venus remain retrograde. Some may find taxes easier to calculate in the final week before the deadline, for Mercury turns direct April 7. 5 A lot of trines and sextiles between the inner and outer planets, plus the Sun sextile Jupiter, grant general good fortune. Business goes well even if Mercury retrograde makes it slow. There are energy, magnanimity, and good spirits. "I see the earth covered with a deep snow; not a trace of vegetable or animal life to be seen." If there's a lack of native energy, things seem cheerless and uneventful. 2 "A person sits at a table in a very dark room, with books, papers and mathematical instruments distributed about him promiscuously." There are powers of concentration and mathematical acuity but they seem to yield little benefit. 3 Some individuals are didactic and self-assertive, lacking flexibility and deference. They resemble "a straight column with square capital and base." Yet their minds can be aspiring, precise and elevated. 4 Interests can be widened through "a meeting of a literary society." Our intellectual and esthetic inheritance is continually re-examined in group discussion. ▪︎ Recovered Groove • 1 "A Hercules dressed in loose, coarse material, shoulders almost bare, holding a club" is anybody who comes to mind. Pete Hegseth, Mike Waltz? Conor McGregor of Ireland?Keywords are Strength and Passion. 2 However, if with more courage than discretion, as apparently the case with Waltz and Hegseth in recent days, he is "rushing along on horseback, sword in hand, to meet a company of armed men" -- the Houthis, or The Atlantic? Good heavens, Mercury is retrograde. 3 The Signal chat group where the embarrassing diplomatic faux pas occurred could be likened to a "meeting of a literary society" focused on military strategy. Things are continually re-examined. Criticism strikes out in all directions. 4 But that was yesterday, so today let's enjoy "a forest of big oaks. There is no underwood, hence a spacious vista presents itself, affording plenty of scope for wandering." Message for Tuesday 25 March 2025 ° Calmed Mental Set ° 1 Theoretically we are in a he-man area of the zodiac, Aries, but with two of the Aries planets retrograde and moving toward Neptune in Pisces, not so macho. Still, a symbol is "A strong man standing in loose, coarse material holding a club, shoulders almost bare." Some are aggressive, quarrelsome or passionate. 2 A more intellectual side of Aries is represented by "A square brightly lighted on one side." Things are given meaning in the way that consciousness accepts them. One's mental set gives genuine self-direction while one successfully ignores the unnecessary. 3 With Mars in the sign of its fall, plus Mercury retrograde, much seems delayed or postponed. "A woman is" still "awaiting a sailboat" in a mood of Equanimity. 4 "Two lovers strolling through a secluded walk" are unworried, moving according to the prompting of their interests. • Equanimity • 1 Are you still unsure whether Mercury Retrograde means anything? Reviewing your life since March 1? You are a rare one if you think everything is normal rather than Out-of-Pattern. 2 I can hardly make sense of the "news." A constitutional crisis, with federal judges in various places fighting Trump edicts, and vice versa? With the three branches of government at loggerheads, nobody knows where to turn. 3 Yet I do: To the Supreme Lord. The square between Saturn and Jupiter (continuing through July, exact on June 13-15) requires us either to salvage our own souls or, that being perhaps impossible, to turn to the Saviour for salvation. "How can you have faith so long as you receive honor from one another, and care nothing for the honor that comes from him who alone is God?" - Jesus in John 5:44. 4 However, as promised, the long lasting trine (till mid June) between Mars and Venus begins today. You may note something progressive or reassuring in human relations. Symbols for the day: 5 Our essential nature is inviolable. "A triangle with wings* represents the zeal of fresh optimism, reascendant even within darkness. 6 "A man dressed in scarlet and purple is prepared for battle and confident of victory." Okay, let's take "battle" as purely symbolic. Both sides can be victorious if through discussion they come to understand each other a little better. 7 "A woman is awaiting a sailboat." ¤ Gradual Improvement ¤ 1 it's a baneful, discouraging time for most, with both Mercury and Venus retrograde while the soul-challenging square between Jupiter and Saturn tightens. My dear sister passed on a few days ago, and then my dear cousin's husband. The saddest times of our lives usually come during the Dark Hermetic Epochs (this one from March 1 through April 25). 2 Improvement? To make it simple, things should get better or smoother beginning March 24, better yet beginning April 7, better yet beginning April 26, and quite good for all of May and the first half of June. 3 There is at least some relief this week. The Venus trine Mars aspect beginning by normal ten-degree orb on Monday lasts through June 13. Love, friendship, prosperity! More visible probably beginning April 26 but nevertheless available. 4 Saturn and Neptune in Pisces trine Mars in Cancer is solid for slow, gradually built-up, persistent success. Some are ruggedly untrained yet rich of heart. There is rustic beauty. 3 On horseback, a king or emperor has been raised to a position where he will command rather than obey. 4 It's Friday and there is scope for wandering within a spacious vista. Rural life allows each to find his or her own groove.
