Message for Week of March 1-8, 2025 Darkness, Clarification, Character We are looking at a Dark Hermetic Epoch chart for March 1 through April 26. (I do not have time to explain or justify these charts today; I have already done so copiously over the years.) Dark does not mean bad but slow or thoughtful. All the "re" words apply, such as repentance, reformation, research, remorse, reminders, remembering, rebeginning. The aspect patterns are quite good except for the Jupiter-Saturn square discussed at length during the past few weeks as morally and ethically soul-challenging. Let's look at some of the degree-symbols in the Epoch chart to ferret out clues: 1 Toys and ornaments of glass and tinsel belong to someone childish, fretful and peevish, who tends to make life miserable for others. 2 Darkness and gloom sometimes prevail. One might be sitting in a dark room solving mathematical problems. 3 But then one is inspired to climb a rock in the midst of a fierce storm. Flashes of lightning reveal one's figure in outline. There is uncertainty, peril, and final success. 4 There are childlike qualities. Two Dutch children are talking. Their somewhat provincial milieu supports relaxing clarification, and a grasp of events on a practical everyday level. 5 Aa the virtual opposite of paragraph 1, the letter T or Tau signifies someone misunderstood--outwardly a babe, but inwardly a giant; "of such is the kingdom of heaven." 6 Another mysterious character resembles "A dark, moving colunn; it stands very high." He or she has a life of his own, a world of her own; is content to pass through life unknown. 7 But might thereby evolve into The Great Stone Face of the Hawthorne story. "Each individual selects the image within himself to which he would shape himself outwardly, and this he comes to resemble." Destiny is character. DOGE & Elon, firings & layoffs, AG Bondi & FBI Director Patel at loggerheads over absent or missing Epstein files?, Zelensky meeting with Trump, etc. The symbols for the day offer hints and clues rather than answers, but combining them with information plus clear thinking could evoke answers. 1 A man is looking at things on the earth through the wrong, large, end of a telescope! He is a boaster, traducer and slanderer. There is no one so great as himself. Elon, Trump, Zelensky? Kash, Pam, you, I? People are belittling one another. 2 All this could be accompanied by a crisis of morbidity. "The ascendant is enveloped in gloom and blackness." "The shades of death abound," or seem to. Message for Tuesday 25 February 2025 • Spiritual Turning Points • It's hard to write about Donald Trump without infuriating either his opponents or his loyalists. Yet I believe that only deep astrological study of his birth chart throws real light on him. Case in point: After I posted yesterday's report on the current Jupiter-Saturn square I realized that Trump has this aspect in his horoscope. He is driven to prove himself, and he believes that he is acting from serious moral and ethical motivation. Marc Edmund Jones taught that during the period of a President's tenure his own birth chart can be taken as the nation's. Obviously we are undergoing a moral, ethical, religious and spiritual crisis. The signs are everywhere. Yesterday I tried to elucidate the significance of the current Jupiter-Saturn square lasting until July 27th. We need to face every failure to live up to our ideals, as if our souls were being tried. Trump? He is trying his best no matter how that looks to his opponents. Furthermore, the Jupiter-Saturn square shall become exact on his birthday, June 14th. This may be a difficult but basically good turning point for the nation. Meanwhile we also struggle with Mars being retrograde or slow while Venus also is slowing down. Not only are there government firings but Starbucks layoffs announced yesterday. ■ End Times? No, but . . . ■ Many feel that we are undergoing a deep spiritual crisis. In terms of astrology, this appears to be linked with the current square between Jupiter and Saturn, which tends to require a repentant, sober, circumspect, morally and ethically alert approach to all issues. Marc Edmund Jones puts it like this: "Jupiter and Saturn in a square aspect indicate an ordering of life's fundamental motives through which the individual usually suffers very immediate consequences of even the least neglect or abuse of his own potentials. He finds he must fight continually for the ideals in which he has come to take the most consistent interest, and also learns that his conscious well-being is wholly dependent on the moral struggles in which he becomes involved almost inevitably at every stage of his experience. If he does not relish the days in which he seems torn to pieces in self-uncertainty, he must discover ways to tear himself apart deliberately on the behalf either of some cause of real significance or some conception that he can dramatize through his own being. Very strong medicine. Most astrologers would not put it that formidably, but we need to face our weaknesses and try to overcome them. Another great astrologer, C E O Carter, has noted that this aspect correlates with bouts of depression, even to the point of suicide in some cases. Message for Week of February 22-March 1, 2025 ° Clearance and Preparation ° Felicitously, the end of this Saturday-Saturday week is also the end of a Hermetic Epoch and a calendar month. And so before launching an inquiry into the March 1-April 25 Dark Epoch, let's review what was posted here about this current Bright Epoch, with just a little editing. One way to divide time on our planet is into approximately six Hermetic Epochs per year. I have written about that extensively. The current Bright Hermetic Epoch runs from January 4 through February 28. Here's a little about it. 1 Mars is retrograde. People are moving, in California, North Carolina, Gaza, elsewhere; people are being deported; people are losing their jobs or being laid off. Perhaps Uranus in Taurus is related to the symbol of a bull threatening a man with its horns. The bull, any of us, is properly defensive but should not become improperly offensive. (Some may see this as related to Donald Trump’s shakeup of government agencies and employees.) 2 Despite the /difficult third/, at its peak late in the day or evening, there can be magic. □ Ch-ch-ch Changes □elapse, revival? Removal, reconstruction? What is going on? Mars has been retrograde (from our geocentric perspective) since December 6, until February 24. From a broader viewpoint, a Dark Martial Epoch began October 5, 2024, continuing till May 17, 2025, a period of seven months. Then a "normal" Bright Martial Epoch shall prevail until November 5, 2026 (eighteen months). A little reflection can reveal what this is all about, as well as invite further questions. October 5 was a month before the election of Donald Trump. He was re-elected after being out of office, a rare event--granted a re-prise. He is an orange-haired, brash, grandfatherly figure, virtually re-born after much persecution through lawfare. A re-turn and a re-vival. Mars was going backward to take up the threads of old karma and dharma. Trump is a fitting Martian figure because his chart has Mars rising near the ascendant, although thankfully he ran and won on an anti-war platform--Mars after all is going backward. And Steve Bannon says now that the defense budget, full of waste, has to be cut back drastically. On January 7, the Los Angeles fires began, while Mars Retrograde went from 0 Leo (a fire sign) to 29 Cancer (sign of homes). Thousands are having to re-build or re-locate. At the same time, many in North Carolina have lost their homes, living in tents or temporary housing. This is not even to mention population disruption in the Mideast, and the fact that thousands of illegal migrants to the US are being deported. Mars in Cancer the sign of the home, while retrograde, is totally in evidence. It is traditionally the sign of Mars's fall. Many are changing their home base in one way or another. I am not, but had to work through a dispute about rent in the past few weeks. Mars turns direct on February 24 but remains slow until early May. Most of us are REorganizing our lives in one way or another. Meanwhile, Venus is slowing down to remain in a "dark" or slow stage until as late as May 17. More about that later. From this week until mid-March Venus shall be in a favorable sextile aspect with Jupiter. He is aggressive and passionate and has force of character.
