Challenges:  You could be as frugal and industrious as a farmer, says Charubel.  Internationally, there could be deception concerning tariffs or trade policies regarding agricultural products.  There could be personal arguments and contentions based on misunderstanding plus a sense of loss, yet there is courage, strength and prowess.  

Opportunities:  At their best people are sincere, rugged and genuine. If rustic, they are still respected for their robustness.  "A large ball of fire flying through the air" could indicate, apart from heat and  forest fires, someone with an extraordinary mission.  You count some such person as a friend, even if a difficult one.  Fidelity could be real in someone with dramatic, humorous or imitative mannerisms. 

Blessings:  "A swimming race" shows a willingness to get up to speed, and eliminate anything which is a poor investment of your energies so you can "win a contest" or the contest of life.  You do this better if you are attuned to the universal harmonies of "a celestial choir."  People around you are of contrasting backgrounds and generations.  "An old-fashioned woman" can coexist with and cooperate with "an up-to-date girl" so that the hidden virtues in each are brought forward in fresh ways.

I woke up this morning (Tuesday) to the smell of smoke in my apartment.  It is from fires in eastern Washington.  The fires in California have been much worse.  Mars square Saturn.  I need say no more.  Mars is in Aries a fire sign and squared to Saturn in Capricorn an earth sign.  Simple? Clear? How can anti-astrologers be so wilfully blind?  But I wrote about Mars square Saturn in yesterday's long-term report titled Getting ShipShape.  Obviously it's not that everyone will have trouble with fires, everywhere, but it shows what can happen in areas susceptible to that problem. Some of its other meanings were covered in the report just mentioned.

Wednesday:  

Challenges:  Sun opposite Neptune.  CEO Carter says: "He seldom realises his own motives and may in extreme cases even think that he is acting the part of martyr or saint when he is in fact gratifying his self-approbation."  Michael Cohen?  His book on Trump, Disloyal, came out yesterday.  / There may be a gambling tendency.  This person "thinks but slightingly of his best friends" (a Charubel symbol) and that could be Trump, though Cohen says that he (Cohen) still feels great affection for Trump.  As for you, you can apply this to your own situation.  We have not been happy with our friends while Venus has been square Mars and both in hard aspect with Saturn.  People are pugilistic (no kidding). "Rock formations at the edge of a precipice" show the need for both competency and aplomb in time of crisis.

Opportunities:  A nicer use of Mars square Saturn would be "felling a tree with an axe" when that is part of a real frontier life.  We have to face our hardest issues in one way or another.  Also there is patient research plus cupidity and cunning; rivalry and competition leading to partial success.  "A snake poised to strike" isn't pretty but shows readiness to defend. "An engine room in a large steamer where men toil almost nude because of the heat"---that could be the victims of the fires.  It is recommended that we "live very quietly."  There is subtle wisdom or foreknowledge, as gained through "a ouija board"---informal divination or hunches. 

Blessings:  "A celestial choir singing" may be heard by very few, the elect who venerate the One the choir praises.  "An old white-headed man surrounded by happy children" is beloved, kind, and benevolent toward the young.  He (or she) guards them while dwelling in prosperity and peace.

At this natural pause before the beginning of the Fall season (which according to the Hebrews is the beginning of the year rather than the Spring, and it seems that way with school and other things beginning after the summer break), it might be well to consider where we are in the Hermetic Epochs.  For those of you who are new, these are approximately two-month periods within the approximately four-month Mercury cycle.  (I try to speak precisely without getting technical. This is for all, not just astrologers. If you are one of the latter and want to know about these cycles, write me.)   

The Bright Hermetic Epoch we are now in shall end in two weeks, and the ensuing Dark Hermetic Epoch begins on September 23.  Coincidentally, that happens to be the first day of the sun's presence in Libra, in other words, the day of the Autumnal Equinox.  (And, in the U. S., needless to say, the "hottest" part of the election campaign.)  Dark does not mean bad!  (Though it sometimes can mean "bad" in the street or Urban Dictionary sense, and sometimes in the old-fashioned sense.)  It means somewhat obscure, from a conventional viewpoint, and full of unexpected happenings, so it is challenging to our normal routines.  The Mercury Retrograde cycle of three weeks is at the center of it, and the whole two-month period (through November 18) has the same flavor as Mercury Retrograde (though I have a hard time making this evident to many astrologers, who don't understand the entire Mercury cycle, only the center of it).  And so, we have two more weeks during which it is wise to "get one's act together."  

To put it in terms of advice (which I do not like, but it saves words):  Devil Out of Details:  1.  Choose your program for the coming 10 weeks, lasting through the election and almost to Thanksgiving.  2.  Choose to stay with things which have been working for you since July 26, when the BHE began, because there will be temptations to slip away from them into more questionable procedures during the DHE.  3.  Arrange priorities in your mind.  4.  Decide on a "positive thinking" agenda to last through the DHE (which includes the election) and stay with it, whether it be a self-help book, Scripture (which I recommend), or spiritual guides you trust (also recommended).  Part of the challenge of the DHE is "keeping the faith," whatever your faith may be.  

What about the election?  First, I would say, most of us should focus on our personal lives rather than on politics.  "Que sera sera" may not be great philosophy but it might be good practical psychology, rather than getting upset about things we can't change.  "It is what it is" may be a cliche but also a truism.  Of course, your "positive thinking" agenda will say, "It is going to be better!" and that is fine, but trusting life is part of the process of its getting better.  

Speculation about the election?  We all do it, but maybe should restrict the time we spend on it!  I am not happy with the election occurring during a Dark Hermetic Epoch, because the one in November 2000, with the "hanging chads" in Florida and the Supreme Court decision to elect the man who lost the popular vote (Bush vs. Gore), also occurred during a DHE, in fact during the 48 hours before Mercury turned direct.  This time, Mercury turns direct on the day of the election itself (November 3).  That is small comfort, or no comfort at all, for those who understand the Hermetic Epochs, for they seem to be "just as bad" or difficult after Mercury turns direct, for a couple weeks at least, which is why they remain Dark (or Slow) Epochs.  I chose the terminology as carefully as I knew how.  In 2000, the Bright Epoch began on November 23 and it was in December that the issue was finally resolved by the Court (to the justifiable anger of many).  

And so those who say "There will be legal challenges to the validity of many ballots, lasting for weeks," may be right, I am sorry to say.  If not, we may thank the gods for a miracle of sorts.

However, as already remarked, most of us had better focus on our personal lives rather than politics.  

To summarize the timing:

BHE began July 26 . . . DHE begins September 23 . . .(Mercury Retrograde October 13---Mercury Direct November 3) . . . new Bright Hermetic Epoch begins November 19 (until January 15, 2021)

More long-term indications:  Battening the Hatches:  The square (harsh aspect) between Mars and Saturn has been intense.  It began by 10 degrees (the orb used by Ptolemy the granddad of Western astrologers) on July 31 and continues until November 1, a very long time because Mars goes stationary and retrograde on September 9 (Wednesday this week).  It begins again after Mars turns direct, on December 9, and ends on February 8.  It is not the end of the world but we have seen what it can do:  Street battles, for one thing.  Political battles, for another.  Notice how two of the major Mars-ruled careers, policing and the military, are poised to decide the election depending on how police and police-supporters, and military men and their supporters, decide to vote.  That is just one factor.  On the good side, this aspect can produce, in individuals, a determination to face the hardest, most complex issues or details of a job or project and get them straightened out definitively.  Saturn is definition, and Mars is action, so one acts to define things and get them settled.  So if one decides to refuse to let politics drain one's energies, one could focus on such individual matters or missions during the coming two-months-and-more cycle.  

Voila!  

Enough for today, but I shall resume the symbols-rich daily forecasts tomorrow.  I hope that you find them illuminating or at least interesting.  The symbols are amazingly accurate, often, and at other times one has to stretch one's mind to perceive their applicability, but that is usually a strengthening and refreshing exercise.

As for today, Tuesday, you may note the difference between the void-of-course period (time above) and the later one after Luna enters Gemini.  Usually there is "a breath of fresh air" and a feeling that "it's not as bad as I thought."

Challenge:  Some are bossy.  Supervising one's own financial status is important, albeit this is a holiday.  Some restrictions may make one feel one is 'wading through mud knee-deep."  Some individuals are pugilistic or upset.  "An epidemic of mumps" is not necessarily illness but a feeling that "things are out of control."  

Opportunity:  People are kinder than they seem on their gruff surface.  "An orangutan" is not necessarily an enemy but a dexterous creature capable of surprising things.  Wandering or drifting like "a pennant or streamer" may indicate weakness, but this is a holiday.  Then there might be an urge to get something done, "a man of humble appearance felling a tree with an axe."  

Blessing:  Sol trine Jupiter in earth signs suggests we are open to expanded vistas.  We feel at home in far scenes or unusual places.  "Villagers in gala costume" are colorful specimens of humanity found anywhere.  A celestial choir is singing if we are humble enough to listen for it.  "A veiled statue" is "the gradual unfoldment of the sublime and the glorious."

Challenge:  There is a harsh edge on things, as if people wanted to fight, or else to supervise one another in an officious manner.  "A case of apoplexy" means people don't want their desires to be thwarted and will drop inhibitions to get their way.   This should not spiral down into imposing on anyone.  Some, however, may be sweetly devoted, to a fault, truckling to others and losing credit that should be theirs. 

Opportunity:  Large achievements are possible with Luna trine the sun.  One can observe what is happening quickly and execute plans cleverly.  Someone you admire may seem lost in the mists of history yet resurface at crucial times to gain approval.  Aggressive action and honest gainful labor are possible and good.

Blessing:  There can be dignity, fearlessness, and self-reliance, combined with the gracefulness of "an ornamental handkerchief."  Praise and flattery are harmless, usually, but one ought not to foster a tyrant.  Higher overtones transform things if and when we catch the music of "a celestial choir singing" and venerate the One being adored.

Challenge:  Seeing intense disagreements as "normal" is perhaps necessary at this stage of humanity's millennia-long spiritual growth.  "Two men engaged in a fight" are pugnacious for probably less than good reasons.  Others, with strong will, are "lofty in deportment, commanding in appearance" and could be police or government officials or (!) even politicians.  There are also those, thank Heaven, "mining in a rock with a pickaxe" or working for little personal profit, willing to serve. May they be blessed.

Opportunity:  Some are kind-hearted though proud, "prancing in the pride of their strength" like fine horses.  Honest, persistent effort is a good thing while Mars and Saturn remain in a square.  Others more privileged may be like "Daughters of the American Revolution," at best using their inheritance to uphold high standards.

Blessing:  Less self-restraint means more daring and more freedom, which many feel while the sun is in a Grand Trine with Uranus and Jupiter.  Still, parental or ancestral influence is potent.  "A family tree" suggests the presence of ancestors in one's blood. A time-tested gentility enhances rather than cancels individuality.   The limits imposed on us by Saturn are real, yet "a celestial choir singing" intimates that we can and should venerate the Supreme from whom all definition springs, and trust that His further definitions shall be to our benefit.

^Harmony Superseding Anxiety^

Challenge:  People are feeling restrained, held back, almost imprisoned, even though a holiday weekend is beginning.  They are looking for principles or solid truths which can protect them.  The "enemy" may not be obvious yet it is felt that some "enemy" could be advancing upon one.  Looking to the past and mistakes one has made could help, because old-fashioned "repentance" is still one of the healthiest things one can do with one's mind and feelings.  The "enemy" is usually within.  Who has not made mistakes?  Seeing them can lead to a reformulation of one's thinking and purposing.  "A strong hand supplanting political hysteria" seems like something we need, rather than hands fomenting hysteria for political purposes.  The T square among Venus, Mars and Saturn has people on edge.  Maybe your hand is a hand which can eliminate counsels of confusion.  There is power in clarification.

Opportunity:  "A man driving a bull or an ox" might relate to the "bull" stock market which some fear could become a bear.  It has had two bad days yet some investors might make moves which are appropriate and prospering, and others might decide that "no move" is best.  Complacency is sometimes a good policy when nothing new is required.  It's a holiday weekend.  "A naked, innocent infant is protected by some strange unseen power" and so we may find refuge in several good aspects offsetting the dire T square.  

Blessing:  Some who are not well-understood are hiding humanity and kindness behind their masks of gruffness or sarcastic humor.  "A Muse weighing twins" judges values effectively, relieving anxiety about contrary valuations.  Venus's sextile with Mercury coincides with rich enjoyment of music, clothing, jewelry, the arts, and entertainment.  There is "a broad tract of open fields under the moon's rays, a river winding its way through them."  This is a peaceful, tranquil, obliging influence which brings harmony no matter how many minor expectations are frustrated or forced to revision.

Challenge:  "A woman blindfolded, and a man leading her" suggests the inter-sexual or amorous confusions likely to be afflicting many while Venus is exactly square Mars, and both in hard aspect with Saturn.  It's the "nobody loves me" aspect, but then someone has a chance to "capture" misguided affection from someone feeling abandoned.  (The sexes in that image could be reversed, by the way.)  Or, better, "a modern Pocahontas" might try to take blindfolds of animosity off both sides in a controversy or love-triangle.  By being a unifier, she might be seen by partisans as a betrayer.  But lost opportunity can be regained imaginatively.

Opportunity:  Unusual or profound knowledge is available (Mercury trine Saturn).  "Heaps of gold and silver coin" may not be available in plenty and yet you have what you need.  A Grand Trine in earth signs is good for prosperity in one way or another.  Complacency may not be wrong, for a while, when little seems to be working out as hoped.  In a sense, doing nothing is better than making things worse.   

Blessing:  Mars square Venus is a peculiar aspect, showing tension or even explosion between the sexes (or within them when there is erotic attraction), yet also showing the attraction itself and how it might work out unexpectedly.  "A bride with her veil snatched away" suggests that we are inviting one another to more intimacy than we may realize, for Venus and Mars in hard aspect with Saturn make love hard and involved with responsibilities.  Yet a favored one is trying to be good to you.  When possible one might escape into "a beautiful scene of the country" while feeling gentle, thoughtful, or devotional.  Harmony sneaks in.

Challenges:  "Strong animal passions" might cause trouble, but give high energy and determination.  It is good to care about the opinion of someone strong whom you admire.  Things are intensified as if there were "a storm in a canyon" (as perhaps in Kenosha, Portland and elsewhere, but more importantly in your own situation).  One does not have to slip into "fatuous enjoyment of turmoil."  Opportunities lost can be reformulated through sharp clear thinking.

Opportunities:  A "gambling urge" may not be totally wrong, but will probably be held in check by "a boy molded in his mother's aspiration for him."  Personal excellence is exacted by life in a congenial way.  The beauty of Nature and trees is worth a lot.  When feeling calm, and less personally ambitious, one can be "docile and tractable" profitably because obeying someone's guidance brings benefits.

Blessings:  Lunar aspects are smooth all day and into the evening.  Good influences flow from yourself and others spontaneously.  Someone favored, kind and harmonious, perhaps a woman, is significant.  We remain in a Bright Hermetic Epoch until September 23 and can forward our plans successfully.  "A hand with the index finger pointing upward as if in command" can be your intelligent nature, ingenious and inventive (Mercury in good aspect to Saturn, Pluto and Venus).  You discern the use and utility of everything.

~Self-Centered yet Balanced by Otherness~

Full Moon of Virgo-Pisces at 9:23p PT | 12:23a(W) ET | 4:23a(W) UT

Not only is there a Full Moon but many aspects are near exactness, as if the cosmos were speeding up at this point of the "real" beginning of the fall election campaign in the U. S. A.  I see that Biden is "coming out" to make more forceful speeches.  But I am not going to make this a political blog, or even comment very much on the election.  I am actually in the center, seeing good things about both candidates and both parties.  But to discuss all that here would take us away from being an astrological forum where I present forecast-meditations designed to help individuals through each day.  No matter which side you are on, I don't think you want to be perplexed and sidetracked by my political commentaries, even if I try to make them as impartial as possible.  Still, it may be appropriate to mention some features of the campaign, with as little bias as possible, as we go along.

Tuesday:

Challenges:  One might be disjoined from friends over misunderstandings and differing values.  You are disappointed in them as they in you.  "Get over it" is easy to say, but there may be lurking cupidity and passion, as if "a dark woman masked" were "standing near a bag of money upon a table."  You may not be being swindled, but it may seem that way.  You might also feel there is too much uncertainty, as if your hopes were "a meteor or falling star," self-consumed before they fall to earth.  Venus opposite Saturn sometimes brings on the feeling "I just have to go it alone."  

Opportunities:  The Full Moon makes us feel we can do anything, as if "gamblers at a racetrack."  In certain moods you might trust people in a gracious, chatty way, bubbling over with benevolence.  Then you may turn to more soulful thoughts, with love for the sublime, or mystical.  Trees are your friends.  The Full Moon puts contrary or seemingly irreconcilable thoughts and gropings all together in a sort of minestrone.  

Blessings:  "Two heads looking out and beyond the shadows" hint that true intelligence has to have two bases for its thinking and tentative conclusions.  Intellectual genius and mechanical ability both require balanced perceptions.  Someone who says gruffly the opposite of what you believe might help you get a fresh, more complete angle.  When some things are blocked, repose might be restorative, "contentment and happiness in luxury, people reading on davenports."

}Beyond Machination to Super-Vision{

Heads-up for Labor Day weekend:  Sunday and Monday should be better for most events, pleasures and get-togethers than Friday and Saturday.

Monday:

Difficulties:  Venus opposite Pluto can lead to memorable issues regarding sex and money.  Often it shows sex for money, or money for sex, or else some obsessive attraction or compulsion which has dark or devious motivations.  Here is how Signor Borelli symbolizes it:  "A bag of money upon a table, near to which stands a dark woman masked."  One might not know how to use one's good fortune, or might subject oneself to others' machinations and so be victimized.  (This is specially possible because Saturn also is involved.  It might affect one's viewing habits, for oddly enough I have been watching a Netflix thing called The Impostors which precisely pinpoints the issues just mentioned.  Warning:  I do not recommend the series although I enjoyed parts of it.  It tends to deflate one's view of human nature.)  Rather than get involved in all that, it might be better to be self-reliant, taciturn, and self-contained, like "a horseman armed, moving across the desert toward some woody hills."  

Opportunities:  You might be involved with "Nature's mysteries" or study them, or be happily influenced by "a revealer of the strange or the curious."  There is nobility and high aspiration, so one might emanate positive energies which uplift others. This might happen in a country-like scene or park, near trees.

Blessings:  "Two heads looking out and beyond the shadows" are able to see both sides, and how we need that!  It seems that political discourse is not valued, only political bickering.  Let's aim for "stereoscopic reasoning."  Both heads and viewpoints are required.  A generous, beneficent attitude brings favor.  Then someone, perhaps you, will have "a dark shadow or mantle thrown suddenly over the right shoulder."  One's destiny might involve some advanced leadership or supervision if one feels worthy of that.

Challenges:  There could be a stagnant situation, in which one "procrastinates with fortune" in an indolent way.  Further, there could be an unfortunate and costly relationship to one's detriment.  There is a "large disappointed audience" whether one is in that audience or one is a performer whom that audience rejects.   There could be solace in the consolations of religion, yet even there some narrow-minded individuals could be more on the side of dogma than of the Divine.  If one can discriminate and choose the latter, that is all to the good.

Opportunities:  "A woman and two men on a bit of sunlit land facing south" suggests indecision, but a chance for the inception of a new situation.  As "a man making a futurist drawing," you want to experiment (Luna square Uranus) and the ultimate result of that could be distinctive, progressive.  The mind can be expanded.  In contrast to that is "a farmyard with cows," that is, symbolically, familiar, easy-going, unchallenging neighbors or strangers.  The new and old mingle successfully.

Blessings:    Having explored and discovered fresh territory, you could make a temporary headquarters.  This may be unstable and subject to change, yet while you work with it it is "a strong castle on a high rock."  Hidden, secretive matters are resources, indicated by "a crown on a flag extended in the wind."  You dare to be masterly.  There is a "richly attired, well-favored woman" who could be yourself or someone  who generously aids you toward gain.

Challenges:  You may feel you are doing more for others than they for you.  There is mutual criticism, or criticism of others, as in "a meeting of a literary society."  Some chitchat is friendly, but if it goes awry or gets destructive there is "a large disappointed audience" or a feeling of disjunction between yourself and those who could appreciate you.

Challenges:  "A man asleep in the heat of the day, some implements beside him" sounds to me like a needed siesta, but Sepharial says it shows indolence, or lack of interest and energy.  One might "dream when he should be working."  Therefore when it comes time to use one's talents, there is "a large disappointed audience."  However, this disjunction between what one does and what the "audience" wants could show that one ought not to "make the momentary mood of the masses a guide for the values one should pursue." Indeed, some around you could be "fretful and peevish," interested only in "toys or common ornaments of glass or tinsel," that is, lacking the refined taste which would appreciate your talent or skill.

Opportunities:  Charubel says we might be thinking about cows, milk, cheese or butter.  Venus in Cancer the sign of cows is trine Neptune in Pisces so some dairy product might be good for you.  "A harem" is not interpreted in the Sabian system  as the opportunity of a male for unlimited sex, but as the restraint and subordination of women, something to be accepted, sometimes, as "an enforced conservation of energies" but at other times to be "rejected at any cost."  Self can be manifested more dynamically (or womanifested shall we say).  The human and divine laws which govern the relations between the sexes may grant insight or resolution.

Warnings:  There can be decadence of one sort or another, perhaps overindulgence in food or drink, or giving up on important matters too easily so that there is embarrassment or a fear that someone important will find one remiss.  Rather than assuming that others or oneself are at fault, some personal initiative is required.  Otherwise one may feel like this:  "A waning moon, amid a bank of clouds, dimly reveals a ship at sea, but all disabled."  One might be unsettled, roving, unstable.  However, one could turn this around especially if active mentally, for Mercury is trine Jupiter plus Uranus and one could be scientific, inventive, experimental. 

Opportunities:  "Two men in fierce strife" is pretty clear in terms of the fact that Donald Trump shall make his acceptance speech tonight.  Sepharial says of someone who has this degree prominent, "His nature is devoid of frankness and he does not admit the truth even to himself, but opposes all and everything on whatever ground is open to debate."  (Trump does not have a planet at this degree but Jupiter is there right now, and no doubt many perceive him in this light.)  "A prima donna singing" seems also appropriate.  Nevertheless I have been interested in both parties' conventions, having listened to them since childhood.  It's as if somehow people trying to be better than they are, and expressing their aspirations for themselves and the nation, is therapeutic, and we get two weeks of that every four years.  True, at times it may seem like "a merry-go-round" but that opens up receptiveness and creativity as well as mere diversion.

Blessings:  "A king, emperor or commander on horseback" is what DJT would like to be.  Apart from that, you yourself may discern elements in yourself capable of such a role.  Luna trine the sun gives a sense of inner power.  At the social level, Venus, both challenged and blessed, could emerge as "A man and woman playing together, with fruits, flowers and wine upon a table beside them."  This is youthful animal spirits, mirthfulness, and pleasure.

Warnings:  Mars is moving very slowly and so we have had the degree "A man richly apparreled, having lost his foothold, is falling to the ground" for several days and it sticks.  Some will see this as Trump, some perhaps as Biden, or whatever your political predilections suggest.  More important, we could each notice this syndrome in some individuals in our lives.  They may be fine people, and as used to be said "of good family," but we may note that they are "off" on some things, or have "lost their foothold" in those areas.  It is harder to see this about ourselves, of course.  We can try to recover, to be "a man dressed as a groom, riding on a spirited horse," that is, to carry out some mission or useful service.  We might fail to "make adequate provision for future contingencies" as Charubel warns, that is, be too blithe when we could be acting.

Opportunities:  "A soldier prepared for battle" is "of ready spirit, quick to respond to the calls of duty and honor."  Luna is forming a trine with Mars in fire signs, Mars being in Aries the (sometimes) warrior sign.  There are executive powers, efficiency, and well-earned credit.  Something one can accomplish is "a great deed" (Charubel) symbolized by "a large building," something long-lasting.  The path to that could be "lost opportunity regained in the imagination" and then regained in fact through reformulated action.  We are in a period when perceptions and plans are likely to be "on."

Blessings:  Luna is square Neptune before trining Mars, so there are also other-worldly trends, "a man dreaming of fairies."  One's outlook, inspired by happy dreams, can summon practical wisdom.  At a more earthy level this could be gardening, or joying in someone else's work with nature.  Fairies are said, by some clairvoyants, to reside in well-kept gardens.  Or at the human social level we have "gondoliers in a serenade" or "the ever-exuberant music of life itself."  Venus is trine Neptune in water signs.  Sentiments can crescendo into a symphony or, more intimately, a love-song.

Hardest:  There is defensiveness and aggressiveness about personal property or money.  There can be too many artificially constructed pleasures rather than those provided and approved by nature.  Some may forfeit whatever dignity and influence they have gained through decadent judgment or lack of persistence.  

Better:  A turn toward nature, whether gardening or relaxing into nature's glories, is helpful.  There is intimacy among human types, symbolized by "a colored child playing with white children."  Differences are not rejected but embraced.  Some may waste time and means on luxuries, to satiety: "A cluster of faded exotics, very sweet and sickly to the smell." 

Best:  You can reformulate whatever has been "in the works" or in your mental speculations.   This does not have to go on forever, with utter weariness, but can reach a plateau when it feels complete. Then later you might want to revise some of it again, but this will not be an ordeal but the natural growth of your understanding and competence--toward another plateau of restful victory.  Personal industry which results from this clearer understanding provides benefits to others as well as yourself, "a hen is scratching for her chicks."  Natural productivity results in "a field of corn standing high and ripe."  Right thinking and well-directed aspirations make for a life of competence and peace.

Dangers:  I have spoken frequently of the square between Mars and Saturn, exact today.  Not only are these two the "malefic" planets according to the ancients, each is in its own sign (Aries for Mars, Capricorn for Saturn) which makes them very powerful. Further, each is at a critical degree (a little-used ancient measurement which I have verified in personal observation for years).  Further, Mars is direct while Saturn is retrograde, and an astrologer friend insists that this "squeeze" makes any harsh aspect much more intense.  It is not the end of the world but there is no wonder that many are feeling challenged.  Here are some wise words about this aspect from the superb astrologer CEO Carter:  "Hardness or sternness," "severity turned inward," "inner austerity and self-discipline."  There is  an "off and on" when it comes to endeavors, sometimes spells of laziness, or dropping things when they no longer amuse.  "A certain amount of selfishness or egoism."  "Often even when there is real kindness of heart, the native likes to go his own way, and will not readily turn aside from what interests him personally in order to minister to others.  There is an inclination to impatience with those who do not readily agree."  

Whoa!  Astrology is incredible and those who do not think it is real are perfect asses.  Or worse, intolerant stupid bigots!  More evidence:  Just as I copied the above from Dr. Carter, I thought of Lucifer, the Devil portrayed by Tom Ellis, and I thought, "That sounds exactly like him!"  So I checked his horoscope again, and lo and behold, Tom Ellis was born with Mars at 11 Sagittarius exactly square Saturn at 12 Virgo!  Eureka!  Astrology wins again, bigtime.  Those who deny its validity are wearing facemasks over not their nose and mouth but their eyes and ears.  Also, the much-awaited fifth season of Lucifer debuted just yesterday, during the peak of this Mars-square-Saturn aspect!  Ellis as Lucifer routinely is "impatient with those who do not readily agree," calling them insulting names. Actors always have horoscopes perfectly representing the characters they portray, especially when they are in a long-term series like this.  And I believe you will see similar "impatience" in the current political atmosphere and in discussions with friends.   

More from Dr. Carter on this aspect:  "A life of hardship and suffering, as well as the undergoing of physical violence."  "Strain and excess, followed by a need for prolonged rest, rigid attention to dietetic and other restrictions, and otherwise 'paying the price.'"  "It does not by any means forbid success, though this will come later and after severe struggles."  Those clues are for us now, and until February 2021, for Mars shall go retrograde and slowly continue this seemingly endless "rub against Saturn."

Dangers, continued, for Monday:  "A man, richly attired, having lost his foothold, is falling to the ground."  This shows "want of judgment and persistence," or "decadence."  However, "a lightning flash" shows a great fund of energy.  One can clear away doubts and be, or find, a source of illumination.  Then one might engage in some patient and deliberate research, as if "busy at work with some scientific instruments" (Mercury trine Uranus).  

Opportunities:  Working with or being around green growing things could be comforting and strengthening.  "An artificial globe" suggests travel, or the study of distant places, making discoveries (Mercury trine Uranus).   "An elephant with his castle on his back" has cool courage plus sagacity.  He is "a defender and helper of the weak."  You may give or receive such assistance.

Blessings:  "Lost opportunity regained in the imagination" means we can reformulate plans.  "Two angels bringing protection" suggests security through sure convictions.  "The germ grows into knowledge and life" because living substance presses forward and unfolds.  The moon has left the Via Combusta, though still in Scorpio while sextile Jupier, Pluto and Saturn.  This is quiet security or restful stability.

If at first . . .  Some are feeling struck by poverty.  This can make one inclined to be agnostic or atheist (though the theist would say that believing would help eliminate the poverty).  "A man, richly attired, having lost his foothold, is falling to the ground."  This could be "the breaking up of families and the loss of their traditions."  We might enjoy seeing a rich person lose his privileges, or we might marvel at how he or she recovers, as in the comic series Schitt's Creek.  From the blankness of a clean piece of paper, something better can emerge.  Or at least one calculates toward such an end, as if life were a problematical theory (sun and Mercury in Virgo).

you don't succeed, . . .   One might attend to gardening, for the sight and pleasure of growing things is therapeutic.  Or one might peek around at the neighbors, "a man peeping around a corner at a company of men in the act or reconnoitering."  Life is interesting.  And more intellectual puzzles or interests might also satisfy, or lead somewhere.  "A man before a square with a manuscript scroll before him" is preparing his prospects in a rigorously reasoned manner.  He is suffering the travail of the current Mars square with Saturn, yet attempting to get a handle on it.

try, try again.    Monday is something to look forward to.  "Lost opportunity" is being "regained in the imagination."  One is reformulating potentials in a fluid way.  "A large white cross upraised" could help, for it holds before your vision a hope of resurrection from whatever you have felt mournful about.  "A Hercules or Samson standing over a slain lion" has overcome dangers, yet is soft and gentle to those dependent.  Such spiritual conquest is invulnerable, preparing a path to tomorrow, which looks better (Monday). .

Those who pretend to attainments, powers, or abilities they do not have may get your attention.  They may think they "possess more gifts than they can hold," yet others see them as charlatans.  At worst, they could even fall into semi-criminal pursuits.  "A wolf carrying away a lamb" is reminiscent of the QAnon conspiracy nonsense, yet in more reasonable contexts it could describe what is happening somewhere.  Those who mislead children are not always sexual predators.  The "lamb" might also be an innocent or naive adult.  

Others may just relax at home and be like "a pool of water," easy-going and content with only a little.  Although their abilities may not be evident, they yet could make surprising discoveries.  They are maturing and developing character by accepting some (no matter how small) responsibility.

If one rises beyond the |difficult third of the week|, which is at its most intense tonight, and the Via Combusta (trial or confusion), one could enjoy times of festivity, as if at "a festival or occasion for the assembling of villagers in gala costume."  "People who have overeaten and enjoyed it" might just be satiated or they might have tummy-aches.  Yet there could be friendship or conviviality, provided one deals patiently with companions' sad or distraught moods.  They might respond by conferring trust upon you.

It goes without saying that prayer, and humility before the Supreme, are supremely helpful.
