○ Toward Reassuring Beneficence ○ 1 Those in intellectual or technological occupations sense that they might be contributing less to the world than farmers, carpenters and tradesmen. Are their projects vain and illusive, as if they were "men sowing in the wind"? 2 Or are some of us just depending on the immediate set or drift of potentialities, through trial and error, like "the ground hog looking for its shadow"? We capitalize on the situation of the moment. The keyword is Reassurance. 3 "The moon is in her first quarter" while Mercury remains retrograde, and so we are ensconced in change and speculation whose results are uncertain though mostly fortunate. 4 Complementing the patriarchal views of God are the matriarchal, such as the "Father-Mother God" of Christian Science or The World Mother of Sri Aurobindo's teaching. Human women and men may also be humane, and beloved for their good works and far-extending Sympathy.
