Certain circumstances form the matrix of your everyday existence; are your endowment. You wish it were more munificent, but whatever it is it's the foundation for your initiatives. Slow? Yes. The keyword is Composition. Be composed. 2 Another re*peating symbol: "An old-fashioned woman and an up-to-date girl." A friend invited me out for a drink but insisted "no politics." Probably each of us thinks he is the up-to-date one and the other the old-fashioned one. The contrast doesn't have to be competitive. ○ Conserving Values ○ 1 We are warned of a possible collapse or catastrophe. "A broken bridge spanning a rapid stream" suggests a need for repair. We spoke yesterday of the Jupiter-Saturn square, exact on Christmas Eve. It's a karmic aspect (lasting even through next July) requiring us to struggle to uphold morality and to hold fast to ideals and work for them. That would prevent dire karmic consequences. 2 Our matrix of everyday may seem like "rocks and things forming therein." The Dark or Slow Epoch continuing until January 4 slows us down. Even little things seem to waste time. Coffee spilled, hair in food, bathing or showering taking more time than usual, as examples. Yesterday my refrigerator door started to squeak! Fortunately the remedy, an oil can, is a few feet away. I'll get to it. I couldn't receive important emails for a whole day until I found them in the spam folder; Gmail said I had "blocked" my most important sender! This has never happened before but it happened, naturally, during a Dark Epoch. "Rocks and things forming therein" symbolize slowly forming Composition in our lives. "Each person in accepting his roots and capitalizing on his endowment is enabled to proceed to high achievement." 3 We approach "an old bridge over a beautiful stream." ♤ Awe ♡ 1 What are these reports good for? I leave an answer to you. 2 I can only say what I am trying to do, and give some rationale for it. 3 All stems from my realization decades ago that it was more fruitful to study the current astrological positions and aspects, "in the sky" for everyone, than to ponder aspects to my own birth chart. 4 I expressed it like this: "There is only one human being." An exaggeration, of course. But when Venus and Mars are in a good strong aspect, my "love life," whether romantic or just friendship, improves, no matter what aspects are or are not happening to my birth chart. And likewise, those around me are having better times in relationships. 5 Test this by seeing what happens for you from January 18 through February 2, 2025, when Venus in Pisces shall trine Mars in Cancer. 6 For all of us Mercury turned direct on Sunday afternoon, December 15, and since then I have been feeling calmer. It's a subtle turning point. That may be why I felt like writing this today. 7 Still, that planet remains in its Slow or Dark phase (Epoch) until January 4. It's as if a train is finally on the right track but still has to add cars and make adjustments before going full speed ahead during the Bright Epoch of January 4 through February 28. 8 The most crucial aspect now is Jupiter square Saturn, exact on December 24. Hard labor while maintaining poise is ultimately good for us. 2 We know Mercury is retrograde and so it seems that our affairs are like 'Rocks and things forming therein.' We create our reality out of the actual situations in which we become involved. Stabilities established are a foundation for all consequent individual initiative. We change the Composition of things slowly, molding or remolding the course of events. (Though with Mercury Retrograde we may feel we are the ones being re*molded.) 3 'A target is pierced by a rapier.' Are you the target or the rapier? There is Vulnerability, yet also powers of penetration. One should follow one's real convictions to avoid disgrace. It is insane and suicidal that the Biden administration is not negotiating peace with Russia, not even talking with Putin. 3 In the last three messages I pointed out the really difficult nature of current planetary aspects, and that was not all of them. The fact that the human race still exists is, to me, a proof of Divine Grace. 4 That does not mean that we, collectively, are not responsible for war or peace. A neighbor in my apartment building, afflicted by drugs and apparent dementia, has been crying out for help. The sun is exactly square Saturn as I write on Tuesday, one of the harshest and most challenging aspects. We are all being tested, it seems. Although Saturn is in Pisces, shipwreck is not necessary. 2 "A quantity of books and papers in disorder" is the milieu of many of us as we try to comprehend what's going on. Do you grasp why the President of South Korea and its parliament are disagreeing over martial law? What is happening in Aleppo? Is Zelensky finally ready for a peace deal with Russia? What are his terms? Will Israeli hostages be released as Trump is demanding? When the world is in disorder, so are the media trying to report on it. (I am finding Axios a somewhat reliable source.) Also, what are your literary and intellectual tastes, and how are you fulfilling them? 3 How we need "a sextant and compass"! We want to be reliable and useful guides for others. To be a cardinal man or woman one has to follow exact, almost mathematical principles. The "raft" of #1 then becomes a ship which one can navigate. Probably your guidelines will be different from mine. You can re*model them if need be during this retrograde cycle. 4 Our questing ramifies in time and space yet is nicely measurable by "the constellations in the sky."
